Wow, solid dim sum at a fantastic price point and fast service. We came around 11:30am and there was a little bit of a wait, but not too bad considering we were a group of 15. It’s to be expected when arriving after 11am on a weekend especially at an iconic local favorite spot like Monterey Palace. We ordered almost everything on the dim sum menu and all the dishes came out fresh and tasty. Savory dishes I personally love include the braised chicken feet, radish cake, sticky rice, steamed shrimp rice rolls, steamed pork rice rolls, fried football shape with pork/shrimp inside, spareribs with pumpkin, egg tarts and Portuguese tarts. We especially loved the golden cream buns that sold out by the time we left. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

PreCovid this was premium premium going back years. I remembered returning from ski trips at Big Bear or Mountain High and this place is a must stop en route to our west coast home. Not only do we eat there, we ALWAYS Ta pao the most delicious salted chicken and roast duck!!! So this is a birthday dinner for our 21 year old niece . Crab was freshest and steamed perfectly. If you want to impress or indulge this is the place to go to!!! This is the spot for our Mother’s Day, birthdays, weddings and treating any overseas visitors . The best!!!!

Went there for a banquet (suckling pig banquet ~$999). Service was great and was able to secure a banquet room so not too noisy (wedding banquet outside). Food was decent considering there was a wedding banquet the same night (would suggest avoiding wedding parties if possible at any restaurants as they can't properly prepare your food to its best ability). Not the best place if you're entertaining out of town friends but decent for eating out on own/family.

This place was new probably 10 years or less in this area. Parking here at this restaurant was considered average, which means that not enough spaces for customers to park. The restaurant looked comfortable and bright. Foods at this restaurant were also average, it wasn't too salty or oily as others establishment. Services at this place were good and friendly. Have not tried their dim sum yet but will do on the other dates.

The deli counter is always packed here, and for good reason. The barbeque is unbeatable... excellent roast pork, duck and BBQ pork. Other items are available from their menu and their prices are reasonable. Service is fine, but slow. Cash only.

Place is packed. There's no parking I had to park a few lots away and the place is 90% full 1 hr before lunch at lunch time it's 100% full. Ordered fried rice, 3 dimsum and tea my total was 33$ so about 40$ for 2 ppl it should be around 70 as the serving is huge. Anyway the food is good and I can't really complain. I will go back with family next time.

Has some of the best dishes and prices in the area despite fierce competition. However, it has a male waiter around 18–25 years old in the dining area that’s always crampy. A rather sad individual, I might say. Got the order wrong? Not my fault, you should’ve spoken more clearly. Need a menu? Why? Aren’t you supposed to speak the language since you look Asian? so on, and so forth. Hope he gets paid better, taught better manners, or both.

Came here on Chinese New Years with my folks and it was top notched service! Incredibly fresh dim sum and must have pork buns with a light sweetened crust. Everything was fresh and piping hot

This restaurant changed new name to Lee Yuen Seafood. Went to for lunch with friends for lunch. Total of 11 of us and ordered a set meal $308. Roast pig was very good. Soup, was bland. Chicken was good, not debone, fresh chicken. Lobster with green onion. very good. The fish dish was ok la, batter fish and orange flavor gravy, not bad, vegetarian dish, broccoli, mushrooms, black fungus, oyster mushrooms, etc good flavor. Walnut shrimps were very good. Total of 7 dishes included soup.

Food was very good then but has been so so lately. Service is good and the people are very. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant. We were here recently and my buddy's truck got broken in and lost his laptop and other stuff. Safer to park on the street if there's a spot.

I haven't been here in a while. They've remodeled decades ago, and removed the push-cart dim sum --*childhood memories crushed*. Their service was lackluster for a while there. So I was EXTREMELY hesitant to come here this past weekend. Regardless of what I thought though, these guys have always remained famous enough, that their tiny parking lot has always had issues with people trying to fight for parking spots, and navigating through each other to get in and out, because everyone else just loves to come here. I don't have pictures this time, but I'll admit, service has improved again. You can easily tell which items were bought from a central location, and which ones were done in-house. Admittedly, their 燒賣 (ShiuMai) must be done in-house, but they were kinda' all over the place. They beat out 黃金閣(Golden House) for fugly-looking 燒賣. While Golden House's was more wrinkly, here, they looked like they suffered from multiple sclerosis. Rightly so, we took the 燒賣 out of their miseries, by only getting a single order of 4, then cut them for 5 people to share. The waiter sort of looked at us funny, but cut them as we asked --albeit extremely unevenly, just as uneven as their 燒賣 had been to begin with. Otherwise though, the taste was better than the last time I was here, and it was actually fresh, compared to their dinner items I had a couple years back. So I hope management has finally hired the right people and treat them well enough to keep things improving.

Xo sauce is the best here, worth the 5 bucks and don't forget to ask for a tiny sauce container to take it Togo. Gotos include their 流沙包(Liu sha[flowing sand] bao) with the pineapple bun topping and siu mai. Service isn't great, speaking canto barely helps, but that's the way I like it to keep prices down, I'm not here for a Michelin experience.

Dim sum was very good! I miss the carts though. Unfortunately they give you a paper with item names but no description of what it is. I ordered something and was so surprised because it was something I had wanted for a long time but couldn't describe. The place looks very clean and bright. If you order off their regular menu (chowmein), the portions are huge! Service, definitely needs help but the food was worth the frustration!

Pretty good dim sum. The portions turned out bigger than expected for some items so I over ordered. I recommend ordering lighter for the first round.

The food was delicious! However the service was pretty bad. We felt very rushed while ordering and then we were pretty much forgotten after getting our food. We had to get up to find someone to give us our check because no one was in sight. Mind you it was 3pm on a tuesday so it wasnt busy at all. The restrooms were disgusting. There was a fly zapper up on the wall next to us in the dining area so hearing it zap every so often during our meal was gross. Like I said, the food is great and it's at a good price point too. It's definitely an experience coming to this restaurant, no doubt about it.

This place was excellent for many years, went there every other week. This Thursday, first time out for dim sum after COVID, we got served stale almost spoiled dim sum. What a disappointment! However, dinner is still very good.

Dim sum was great! You ordered dim sum on a piece of paper and they'll bring the dim sum to your table. Lunch specials are also great. The only thing is parking, if you get to the restaurant after 12 noon, you need to park your car on a nearby street.

I ordered Chinese BBQ take out:. Roast duck, roast pork and soy sauce chicken. Food quality is just so so. Service, I would considered below par. Condiments are not provided such as sweet plum sauce for the duck and soy sauce for dipping the chicken. These are generally provided in other establishments.

Very loud and noisy place during the meal. Very hard to carry conversations . The dim sum is average. But their BBQ porks and roast ducks are famous and excellent. Many people just come here to buy the BBQ porks and the roast ducks.

Food and prices were pretty good. They sat us by the open back door where people were smoking. We had a pregnant person , child, and a newborn at the table. You’ll have to wave down staff if you want help.

Food is good, we ordered a plate of roast pork from the deli. It was perfectly crisp. Bill came out to be $102 for 4 adults and 1 child (ouch!). They charged $1.95 tea service per person and the child was included ( no tea charge for children at other restaurants). Best be careful in what you order. Each plate will be $5 or more and others start at $10 and up. In all, we ordered 6 dim sum dishes with roast pork , a hotpot of tripe, and a regular order of beef chow fun. We couldnot eat the bbq beef pie pastry (orange pastry innn no photo) it had the texture of flaky dough with a lard binder. We tried to it bring up with the staff but they either didn’t understand or just ignored my comments. We left it un eaten after the first bite. A waste of $5.
