We had a great time at the Halloween festival, the city did a great job putting this together. Kids had fun with the free games and everyone was pleasant. The food was cheap and the entertainment was awesome!

Saw a lot of avid pickleball players on a Sunday morning. Would be a lot of fun to join them if I had a paddle.

It’s a superb place for the kids to have fun and play around. Th rides are nice and clean and well maintained. There is proper seating for the parents to sit and watch the kids while the kids have fun. There are bathrooms available but I didn’t use them.

Very beautiful park and updated playground. Also we came for the Fourth of July event they had and it turned out very well. Mi kids loved the fireworks show.

Such a wonderful park . So many things for the kids to play on and climb. They even have a special needs swing that is amazing to use. I get to sit with my daughter and push us both , it was so much fun

I really like this park. They have a nice walking path and lighted up at night. I feel safe walking there. There's also a playground, an amphitheater, baseball, tennis courts and it's right next to the pool. There's a big grass area on the hill and lots of picnic tables. There is plenty of parking surrounding the park.

Nice local pickleball spot, well organized and very friendly crowd. Pull up a chair, drop off the paddle and the rotation pace is pretty fast over 6 courts. There are lights here too for night play.

This park is located along side with the city hall and police station, a beloved backyard shared by many. It belongs to a city at times ranked among the top exemplified ones in the nation. Whereas, it’s restroom next to the kid’s play area sheds different light, often filthy, trashed, wet and dark, an eye sore at the least. Seems it hasn't been maintained for ages compared to the shiny library and civic building adjacent to it. When there were drugs, crimes, killings, disasters and such, politicians or so-called local leaders couldn’t wait to display big words, giant promises for PR as much as for campaign fundraising. Surprisingly, a little untended public bathroom from the city center is being brushed off with no end in sight!

The playground rules still apply as adults. Barnes Park is a public green space that measures approximately 17 acres, and is located at the heart of Monterey Park. It seems this park was newly remodeled and upgraded. This park features a community center, basketball gym, amphitheater/memorial bowl, sheltered picnic pavilion, Olympic size pool, lighted softball field, tennis courts, and children's play area. Plenty of parking spot. Furthermore, this park has close proximity to the local police department and the Boys and Girls club. Most park goers were kids, adults and young families. Basically it's quite diverse and multicultural. I dig it. There were no homeless person lurking around when I visited so that's bloody great. Overall, this is a great park with excellent features. I highly recommend this park.

It has a great shaded area where you can have parties with booking. It doesn't have a wide scene where you can see far 360°. Every spot is like seperate from one another. I wish it had a better view.

We went there for a 4th of July fireworks event and were not disappointed. We got there half an hour before the start and managed to get close to the mortar tubes. We saw the fireworks being launched, track them to the explosions, and really enjoyed being close enough to see ambers floating back to the ground. Some grass patches looked dry, but the fire department was there. Good entertainment for the day. Food stalls were so-so.

This is a PUBLIC park how is it allowed that a group of people put a tape around the benches area so no one gets in for a private event?????

Very active park with many families playing/exercising, specially in the evening. Great views of the sunset and San Gabriel mountains. Many tables available so it's perfect for a picnic. There's also a farmers market every Thursday.

There's a lot of Asian people who don't understand that you have paid money to the park (Barnes park) to rent a space in the gazebos. And they invade your personal space try to invite themselves into your party! Go as far as trying to get a plate and eat your food and open the ice chest and say they are thirsty!!! And when you tell them NO PlEASE they act like they don't understand English! And they just do exercises right in the middle. There's no park attends there to help you out ! If I would have known I never would have paid and rented tge space !!!!!!

The only Park with a playground, gym, with football field, swimming pool and a tennis court. I also forgot to mention they have theater area with chairs. The best Park in Monterey Park. The park is filled with tables good for picnics. We go here to go walk while my son plays with his scooter. I love it here because of its proximity to home. And I love the outdoors. Sometimes they have Festivals here and events. So it's good to keep updated of the events on this park.

Nice little park. Nice neighborhood and a lot of activities going on just about everyday. The police and fire station is nearby so it feels really safe.

Great kids park + space for soccer practice for 5 year olds. Cool kids play area with nice equipment. Parking is a nightmare, otherwise top shelf.

Has a charging station for electric vehicles. You can walk around and get your exercise. Looks like there's plenty of amenities around and it's located next to a police department so it should be pretty safe.

Very good place to exercise. Only one thing few men don't follow the park regulation. They always smokes. What can we do?

This park always feels safe for me. I bring my kids to play. I come and walk around in the morning or run, it's beautiful and peaceful. The energy of the people is good, you can feel the respect and the gratitude for having a place with such beauty. When there's people disturbing the peace or trashing the place, the police gets called right away. The police station is next to the park. They also have lots of free events and fun for all! ^-^.

👍 Beautiful park that is located at the end of the Edison trails, but also connects to it.
