Such a fun and CLEAN beach. My children enjoyed the boats near the beach. I personally loves seeing and hearing all of the sea otters, they're pretty friendly and my husband was swimming next to them in his wet suit. Very clean and serene beach.

Nice free beach but you have to pay to park. Lots of homeless set up with tents. Beach and access is flat which was a huge plus so no stairs required. Kayaks can be rented. Water was cold in May and the sand was hot. Less crowded during the week.

The beach here was so beautiful! The sand sparkles with gold flecks and there are intact sand dollars, tumbled granite, and rounded basalt with holes that look like swiss cheese. You can walk the beach and listen the barking sea lions underneath the nearby docks. The sunsets are amazing and, if you get hungry, there are myriad options to enjoy at old fisherman's wharf, another must see. I have to be honest, after spending time here it was difficult to head back to Texas! Thanks for the fantastic time, Monterey!

Always loved this beach since I was a child. Been around since 1970 and it has changed a whole lot but stays beautiful. Parking is not so great but well worth it.

My Husband and I love to walk on this beach as often as we can. It's certainly one of the prettier beaches where dogs can play!

Beautiful, clean beach with amazing scenery. Sit all day. Take a long walk. Wet your toes. Short walk to the wharf for dinner.

It’s one of those beaches that you must stop explore, dine, and hang out in the sun with the kids. Beach shore is clean with hard packed sand that you can walk on without foot print. Stop by when you get a chance

I frequent this beach weekly. I love going rock hunting & I’ve found jade stones washed up on this beach multiple times. 😍 along with Jasper stones, agates & quartz crystals. 💜 there’s a small stream/estuary that my daughter loves to splash around in (which is much safer than the ocean 😅) we’ve found jellyfish, whole sand dollars, fancy stones & more on this shore. 💜 Obviously our local beaches aren’t safe for swimming due to dangerous currents & tides, but we’ve splashed in some waves here with no issues ☺️ When the tide goes out, if you hit this beach at the perfect time, you can walk waaaaay out. That’s the perfect time to find cool shells & stones washed up 💜 This beach closes at sunset, and you’ll get a ticket if your parked there after that time frame. This is a residential area and should be respected as such 😉 I think the perfect time to go is always 9am-10am. You’ll almost always catch a low tide around this time frame or shortly before or after 😉

Absolutely beautiful beach. While it has freezing cold water, very strong currents, lots of seaweed and sea life carcasses, I love that this isn't like the prestine beaches that attracts tourists. As a local, I admire the natural beauty of this place and the fact that it's often overlooked.

Relatively quiet beach with fine, white sand. Lots of birds and wildlife if you look closely. We saw vultures feeding on an elephant seal carcass!

If you have little kids that like to play in the sand and the water and you're concerned about undertow a riptides the best part of del Monte Beach for you would be the end closest to Old fisherman's wharf. Parking is affordable bathrooms are clean. The shoreline is very calm along that part

Great beach tucked back behind a neighborhood and glad we found it. Kids were able to boogie board and there were others surfing so waves here can support some board sports. It is your prototypical California beach, waves, sand, dunes, a boarwalk and just the right amount of breeze. On this late Saturday afternoon the beach was not too busy and we had a relaxing time building castles, watching the fishermen, and hanging out. The only downside is that the bathrooms are porta-potties and I did not find a wash station so bring some water to rinse with.

Nice spot for a morning walk or jog. Came by here before brunch, the sea breeze was welcoming and the walk was interesting. Loads of geese in the parks and several cyclist going up the path.

Easy access. Connected to Monterey Rec Trail. Usually quite clean. Always a cool breeze. Lots of coastline in which to spread out do you can always have your own spot, if that's what you'd like. The sand along the water is easy to walk in. It's just a very versatile Monterey Beach.

What else is there to say? It's the pristine Monterey coastline. Rain or shine it's an amazing place to visit. I go there frequently. I usually just stay up by the street or walk over to a bench and enjoy the view. I used to eat lunch there almost every day, I've often seen dolphins riding the surf or sea lions fishing. In fact, simply because of the lack of kelp and rocks, the only critters you don't really see are the otters. There is a nice little boardwalk and some seating areas, including a picnic table or maybe two... I'm not sure how far the boardwalk extends. Portable bathrooms are available next to the small parking area. Sunsets like the one in the picture are not uncommon. The only real downside is the limited amount of immediate parking. Overall, it's an amazing place to spend any amount of time.

Nice beach, fair amount of parking, has a coupe benches & picnic tables back up off the sand. Nice place to sit & watch the waves or even go in/out of the ocean for some wading or swimming. No life guards present either time I visited, however.

Didn't actually go on beach. It is next to fisherman's wharf, which we did walk end to end. A couple cheesy restaurants and a good fresh seafood shop. Good views of bay.

Great little "hidden" beach. Love that they are doing dune restoration and have a number of walkways.

The beach itself is narrow but reasonably long. What makes the area is the great ambience and the lively fisherman's wharf where seals often sun bath.
