Valet Parking : $45/ Day Regular parking 1 block away : $35/ Day Staff: Super friendly ! Very welcoming 👍🏻 Location: is amazing! A lot to do within walking distance. Bars, restaurants, great view, the aquarium. Highly recommended, the hotel over all was very clean, the room was impeccable very nicely arranged. Will definitely be coming back. Came for a conference and the conference rooms are great! The food they served was also very good 👍🏻

Awesome location right by the aquarium. You can take the trail up to the beaches, explore the city, Starbucks is a block away, it has basically a perfect walk score. The hotel restaurant has amazing waterfront views, we saw otters, dolphins and seals during several of our breakfasts. The food and coffee were very good with a spicy theme. The room we stayed in was generously sized with good space for sitting, a nice view of the water, and a soaking tub. The hotel pool is narrow and cool (it looks almost like a shipping container pool) but functional, the hot tub was significantly under chlorinated. There is a small but functional gym with good ventilation. It was a noisy hotel with people talking late into the night and a lot of what the front desk called "locals" who seemed to think it was really fun to take the mufflers off their car and burn out in front of the hotel late at night. The small place across the street that really wants to be a nightclub makes up for a lack of patrons by playing loud music (with distorted bass) late into the weekend nights. If you do stay here a couple of tips about parking: The hotel has very high rates for parking and if you show up at 11:00 p.m. or leave at 6:00 a.m. you still pay for the full day. There is parking on the street in front of the hotel that as of the time of this writing was free from 8pm until 9am as long as you avoid the gold colored meters. You can park yourself in the same parking garage the hotel uses (which is off-site) for $20 without in and out privileges. Best option: If you are willing to walk about 5 min there is actually quite a bit of free parking. Just continue down Prescott avenue until you hit Hawthorne. We found ample parking for the whole trip. This saved us enough for another night or two stay if we had wanted. We also parked on the street for our first and last night to make loading easier.

I stayed here with my husband and 6 month old baby. It was lovely! The room was spacious. We were able to fit our travel crib, stroller and tummy time mat and still had a ton of room. Our ocean view room was connected to a balcony, although you could only see the ocean at an angle from one spot on the couch. The staff was helpful and allowed us to checkout late. It was $45 (+ tip) to valet the car. A fee we gladly paid. I still have no idea where the car spent the night. The location is ideal if you're visiting the aquarium with a baby. It was easy to stop back at the hotel for a nap! Everyone was incredibly friendly. I'd stay here again.

We’re been to this hotel 2 times. The first time was just a night and we had to force ourselves to leave the next day to make another reservation in another town. We came to Monterey early this time so we can stay 2 nights this time. The ocean view rooms with balconies are AMAZING! The rooms are gorgeous and very clean and every staff, including cleaning, are very friendly and helpful. From our balcony, we’ve seen lots of otters, pelicans, and other birds. We’ve also seen whales and seals. The sound of the waves is very relaxing… hard to get motivated, but that’s the point of this vacation! Lots of great, nearby eating places that are in walking distance.

High quality hotel and service. Valet parking $45. Pool isn't really a pool (laps only, it's maybe 4 feet wide.) Customer service was exemplary. We didn't dine here, as there are so many other choices around on Cannery Row. Stayed here with kids to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium, as it's basically next door (and it is awesome). Location is perfect, and the property itself is lovely! If you can afford (very pricey at times) it is worth it.

Stayed here for two nights for a quick weekend getaway. I usually stay elsewhere while in town but thought I'd finally check this place out. Pros include friendly staff, location, clean room, quiet--well, my room was quiet because it faces the wall of the ugly building next door. Not much of a view but because it didn't face Cannery Row, the courtyard, or valet, it was very quiet. I was still able to hear some of the waves crashing at night, which was nice. The bartenders downstairs at the C Restaurant were great, and I had an amazing massage at the spa. Cons: the so-called balcony is only about the length of your foot. I didn't want to stand outside and look at a dingy wall anyways, but most of the balconies look like this. The mini fridge in the room was stocked with mini bar items and had no room for any of my drinks. I didn't want to move anything for risk of being charged $15 for a can of tonic water. No microwave in the room, either. Valet parking was a steep price of $45--i checked the valet rate at other nice hotels in the are and the IC is the most expensive. I paid $90 to have my car parked for two nights and never took it out during my stay. The hot tub was broken. It was a decent enough stay but I left feeling a bit disappointed. Next time I'll splurge a little more and return to The Plaza.

What a lovely hotel with friendly staff! Phil at concierge was amazing and gave us lots of recommendations in and around the area. He was very kind. We had a king fireplace room and it was lovely. The restaurant on site is also great, and they have a cute patio area with firepits nice to enjoy in the evenings. Would definitely love to come back.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. We booked this hotel through our credit card reward points. The location is right in the middle of cannery row which is extremely touristy and not charming at all. This really isn’t my issue, that is just a matter of personal choice. I think if I vacation in this area again I’d stay in Carmel. However, my issue is that when we checked in we were told that we were given an upgrade to a “very nice room” complimentary. I was super excited to see the room and when we got to the room I quickly saw that we were not in fact upgraded. We were downgraded. We had paid for a full ocean view room with our points and were given a room overlooking the valet stand and if you stretched out the window you could barely see the water. This would be considered a partial ocean view. Further, they took our credit card for incidentals which is pretty standard. However, today we noticed they charged us $500 for this partial view room. So now we’ve paid the equivalent of $650 in points and $500 in dollars for a sub-par room. We will be charging back the unwarranted charge. The woman who checked us in even told us our room was pre-paid so I have no idea why they charged us again and why they charged us for a room we clearly didn’t get. Just beware.

Really nice hotel located directly on the water with great views of the Monterey Bay. You will melt into the bedding and linens, the bed is so comfortable. Beautiful bathrobes and towels are luxury. Very clean. Coffee and tea station in the room with a variety of snacks and minibar in the fridge. Step outside and your right in the heart of the shopping and restaurant district of Cannery row. Only bummer was the parking lot for the hotel is 1 block away and costs are $45 per day. It’s not a bad walk by some shops and it’s safe secure parking and if it’s raining you could use their valet.

There is no better hotel than the Intercontinental for a visit to Cannery Row, the Aquarium, and the heart of Monterey. Nice restaurant, with great beers at the bar, nice gym; cozy little pool with hot tub. Crazy good location right next to the Aquarium. Lovely fireplaces in the rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Valet parking available but cheaper self park spots are also easy to find.

Perfect little hotel! Great location. Close to everything! The pool is located outside and it was too cold to swim. Not a heated pool. No microwave in the room. Overall I would stay here. The mini fridge is full of drinks which we removed to replace our own drinks.

The location is fantastic, literally a two minute walk from the aquarium and all the little cute shops on Cannery Row. The rooms themselves are clean, updated. Staff and valet were all very efficient, professional. It is pricey but from what all I saw, one of the best hotels in the area. Would come back.

We stayed at the hotel last weekend and had an absolute amazing trip. It was probably the nicest hotel room we ever stayed in the US, the location is stunning with beautiful views of the ocean, and the service was great. If our schedule would have allowed it, we would have extended right away. One advice: take an ocean view room, it's so worth the money!

What a great hotel. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The location of this hotel is perfect, it’s right in the heart of Cannery Row, with lots of restaurants and shops near by. The room very clean, and spacious. I highly recommend, and will be sure to come back next time I am in town.

Location, friendliness and service of every staff member we met - were top notch! Highly recommend. Here are a few pics of our visit (week of 9/25/23). Make sure you check out the stairway off the lobby lounge area. (Tip - we refilled our water bottles from the water dispenser in the gym. Right outside the gym is an ice machine, as well.)

Room is spacious as well as restroom. Didn't realize how small double beds are, and also too soft for my liking. Room is relatively clean and has decent amenities. Didn't get any upgrade and got placed on the other side which wasn't necessarily convenient with a little one. Ended up working out since it was closer to parking which is way over priced. Paid $50+. Didn't realize parking was $45 + tax (those not staying at the hotel using the same parking lot pay $20!). Btw, they charge same for valet or self. Probably beat to use different parking option if without little ones. I found staff at this place as one of the most unhelpful or cold/unfriendly amongst the hotels I've been to. Quite unlike a hotel that stands for luxury; service just doesn't seem to be a necessity for them. Valet and restaurant service is fine, it's an exception.

Fantastic hotel in prime location. Very friendly staff. Everyone is really welcoming and kind. The rooms are big, clean and have super comfortable beds. The fire place in the room was a plus. The spa is also super nice. It has a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. I spent my birthday at the hotel and can absolutely recommend the hotel :)

The location is great. The hotel restaurant has ocean views and looked nice. Did not eat there so not sure how the food was. Self parking was behind the hotel but easy to get to. The room had a nice deep bathtub, and fireplace which was really nice. The window opened a little so you could hear the seagulls. The bath towels and robes were large and plush. Overall the hotel was very nice. Picture was taken at sunrise from the hotel property.
