Horrible hotel. Do not stay here. Came here for a week to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and had one issue after another with our small old room. Walls are so thin you can hear everything above and next to you. The property is not kept up and also old. The fitness center is in a separate building very far from the rooms. I sent some laundry out and was charged $120 for a handful of items. I could go on and on, but want to let people know that if you are looking for a nice place to stay, do not choose this hotel! It is not a luxury resort and the cost is outrageous for what the hotel provides.

This location has been our quick weekend getaway for about twenty years. Before Covid, it was in desperate need of updates, everything looked so outdated (but we still loved the staff, food, service and the amenities). It was such a pleasant surprise to see it completely remodeled. From the bedrooms, to the lobby/ restaurant/ coffee bar…. We loved the cleanliness, the staff, food and just about everything about this hotel. Beautiful fire pits, pools, golf course, table tennis and so many other things for people of all ages to enjoy. As always, we loved our stay.

This hotel is a below average Hyatt regency. It is no ways a luxury hotel. The property is spread across and large. The room we were given was around 5-8 minutes walk from main front office lobby in Building x. I would advise to avoid that as it is too close to a busy road and plus there are no elevators. Building has the look of a 2 star hotel, bathroom was really dingy with the smallest sink I have seen. There was a huge commotion at around 12:30 in the night with a loud crowd of young men banging doors. It was scary to be honest as this room is one end of the property. On the plus side front office did pick up the call and heard my complaint and possibly took some action. Overall recommend staying here only if there are no other options.

Underwhelming. Old building that is located right beside highway and military base. I don’t know why people give this place any good reviews. We did a road trip and stayed at different hotels, this one was the hotel we wanted to ‘splurge’ on. For $362/night, this feels like a super 8 motel with a larger pool. The family pool was heated and that was nice since it was quite cold when we were here. About 10 minutes in, a group of frat/military boys who had no access to the hotel jumped the fence and jumped into the pool. This was very unacceptable with no security, especially we are here with two small kids. Morning time, there is a cafe but with no complimentary coffee except the pods from your room. All other hotels we stayed at on this trip surprised us with beautifully spread breakfast, one of them being Hyatt Place. This had nothing, anyway just underwhelmed worth first impression and overall experience. Absolutely not worth the price we paid for and highly regret choosing this hotel.

A lively yet cozy place for a short getaway. Loved the amount of seating and lounge spaces. My room was comfortable and spacious. I appreciated how close the hotel is to Carmel and Pacific Grove. When we needed anything in our room, the service by staff was great. They were warm, attentive, and quick. Plenty of activities to keep yourself entertained here. The only area for improvements is cleanliness of the lobby where the space is shared with all guests. The water dispenser with fruit in the lobby was rarely filled during our stay, but there are other water stations around the hotel to fill up water bottles. Another perk: From what I saw, it's also a very family-friendly place.

    1) it's an old hotel, I think... I got a room in the I building and a king bed room. It was calm and nice. However the amenities didn't satisfy me. 2) there are elevators but they're not available. Disadvantage for elderly people. Also, very weird and bad smell in the stairs. It was disgusting and I had to stop breathing whenever I using the stairs. 3) the service is good and housekeeping service is automatically provided. 4) I don't wanna stay here again. The worst Hyatt I have ever experienced.

The ambiance of the hotel is perfect and the service is unbelievable! Agnes at the front desk was the best front desk service I have ever experienced, and I have stayed at many five star hotels! The restaurant service was also fantastic. Rudy our waiter was very personal and made us feel at home! Will highly recommend to friends and hope to be back soon!!

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and nice. The staff was friendly. Room service was super fast. We stayed in the basic King room. It was a nice location, secluded from the traffic and noise of tourists, but still close enough to restaurants and other tourist places.

We have not had a great experience staying here. The first room smelt of cigarettes and very musky, we were moved to another room and the mattress was wet, both issues were dealt with by house keeping, however no one seemed surprised or was apologetic, which makes me think these types of things happen all the time. We only had 2 nights, stopping off on road trip, however we found the hotel too big and a 30-minute walk from the main town and Fisherman's Wharf. It is more suited for conferences and work related stays. Wouldn't recommend for families on holiday wanting to investigate and explore the local area.

I've stayed here many times over the last 20 years but this most recent will be my last. Service was substandard and apathetic. Zero recognition of being a Hyatt member. Despite being given a room in a building with no other guests, the front desk decided to put the only other guests who checked in at midnight in the room next door -- and stayed up watching TV loudly until 2am. I called the front desk to ask why they would put other guests next door in an entirely vacant building and all she said was, "Because I could." Price point is not worth the value. Looked into other properties at the same price and learned there are much better values for the money. What made the vacation decent was the fact that I decided to spend as little time as possible at the property. Was a very disappointing aspect of a vacation I had really been anticipating.

I recently spent three nights at the Hyatt Regency while attending a conference in April. This wasn't my first time attending events at this venue, and I must commend their excellent catering for conferences, including delectable breakfasts and lunches, as well as other related services. The room I stayed in met my expectations in terms of cleanliness, and the staff were friendly and courteous. I dined at the hotel's restaurant one evening, and while the service was commendable and the food satisfactory, I found the prices to be somewhat steep for the offerings. However, this was not entirely surprising. I was more impressed with the quality of the food served during the conference. The staff remained helpful and pleasant throughout my stay, which speaks volumes about their job satisfaction. In addition to the aforementioned aspects, it's worth noting the hotel's location. Although it isn't situated directly on the famous Cannery Row, it's only a short distance away. Of course, this isn't something the hotel can control, but it's still a factor to consider. The slight inconvenience of not being in the heart of Cannery Row is easily outweighed by the hotel's exceptional service, amenities, and overall experience. I would not hesitate to stay at the Hyatt Regency again in the future, as it remains a highly recommended choice for both conference attendees and leisure travelers alike.

Building is old, 2-STAR level, there is only one elevator for guests/ cleaning staff. so the elevator was really dirty. no microwave in the room. iron was broke, room was not very clean, there is an old k-cup in the coffee machine. room service is also slow. we stayed here for a wedding nearby. the room was not ready at 4:45 pm, although the check-in time is 4pm. and the check-in line is very long, with this price, I would expect a better experience. will not recommend this place.

A very decent hotel. Unfortunately the hotel tried to fool us with the given room category. First, we were given a nice room by the golf course. As this was a king-size bedroom and we booked a 2 queen-size bedroom, we changed rooms. To our big surprise we were moved to a much older fashioned room next to the highway. The door of the bathroom did not fully close. The view from the patio was towards the electrical systems of the building complex, which was very loud. Some of the furniture and equipment in the room did already fall apart. After our complaint, the manager in charge said, that this was the same room category. But they would be happy to give us a suite for an extra charge on our expense. No other solution was offered. Sad that they handle obvious and reasonable complaints that way. Last time Hyatt Monterey.

Great location for the nearby attractions. Rooms very much in good standing for a Hyatt Regency, although a 'Golf Course' view is significantly better than the 'Parking Lot' view. On-site activities and amenities are much more tuned to adults than to kids; they have an excellent gym, a darn good happy hour at the bar, and (obviously) a golf course. Easy access to the local freeway, self-parking with easy in and out, about one mile or so to the beach.

After a terrible experience at motel 6, we went here and I’m so happy we did. When we got here, the we helped by very friendly people. The room was beautiful, clean and up to date. It seems like most stuff closes early, so we ended up eating at the restaurant. At first it was no doubt pricey, food ended up being excellent and worth the $$$$. We ended the night using the warm hot tub and left here with a smile on our faces. Will recommend!

What an amazing property! 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, a spa, great workout facility and fantastic rooms! My wife and I spent three nights here. We would explore during the day, come back to the hotel around 5 to sit in one of the hot tubs for awhile. We would shower, change and then grab some drinks and sit by a fire table over looking the gold course. Drinks were great, food was great and the staff was always super helpful. I highly recommend! Minutes from Cannery Row…Minutes from the Wharf…and minutes from downtown Monterey.

The hotels atmosphere is nice. The front desk was not very informative. The rooms are nice, but I did find a stain on my pillow. The golf course view is beautiful. They have chairs to sit and enjoy the view outside the balcony or patio. There was a used coffee cup that was not clean up. Room service meals where disgusting. The hotels images online show delicious room service food. We ordered the pizza and salad. The food was cafeteria frozen low quality food. The pizza was $20 something dollars plus $4 for delivery to your room. We did not eat it and stayed hungry instead.

I stayed at this Hyatt location for a family wedding in the area. The rooms are decent, the bathroom is really nice and I was pleased to see there was a bathtub to soak in. I also really liked how the beds had an automatic light underneath, it's super convienent when you need to hop out to use the restroom in the middle of the night! Since I had a room on the 1st floor, there was a lot of loud footsteps above us. On the Hyatt app, I requested a water kettle, mouthwash and a bathrobe, but I never received it. I had to call the front desk to request the items and it took about 40 mins to receive them. We wanted a water kettle to make coffee, as we noticed our keurig machine was very dirty inside. There are two pool areas, and there's a recreational area that has two bocce ball set ups, a big connect four play set, a giant chess set and more. Lots of things for kids to do! I will have to dock stars since our experience with the cafe was soured. My family and I were grabbing a quick bite to eat in the morning from the hotel cafe before we head out to the wedding later in the day. The worker with a hat manning the cashier was pretty rude to my mother and my sister. My mom was paying in cash and he made an off remark about how she's the last customer he's had to pay in cash. He was having a hard time and became frustrated while counting and giving change back to my mom, since she paid in two $20 bills. Is it really that hard to count change?! In addition, he also kept ignoring them when they were asking him questions about a specific pastry behind him, and gave my mom and sister attitude with his answers. We were sitting near the cafe and this man kept giving us strange dirty looks afterwards. Very poor customer service- we did complain to the front desk and they said they would pass on our word.

One of the best hotels. Nice rooms, the most polite employees. At the reception: Vivian, was so polite and nice. We got immediately an excursion to the room before checking in. Best service ever.

Good experience overall. Rooms were less stocked with everything as we’ve experienced in other Hyatts, for example two tiny towels and no small travel necessities packs but stuff quickly provided requested additional towels. The place is very kids friendly, we travelled with 1,5 year old and he had fun. The buffet was great in the restaurant. Stuff in the hotel and restaurant friendly and welcoming.

Here is our overlook on our visit: 1) walls: contrary to many negative comments relating the thinness of the walls and how soundproof they are, i have to say that I had no problems with loud noises, neither was I disturbed by any door noises. 2)shower: the shower, shower hat and shower pressure were all perfectly fine. But we would have preferred a regular closable and lockable door for the bathroom. We perfectly managed to operate in this bathroom witch only one light switch 3)automatic under bed light sensor: the automatic light sensor under the bed has pros and cons. We found it quite practical, at it helped us to find our way at night without tripping over stuff. 4) stairs: the stairs were completely fine, but there was no separate elevator in every single building, wich didn’t pose a problem to us. 5) staff: all the staff we came in contact with was very kind and helpful. The overall appearance of the hotel as well as the swimming pool and the fitness facilities were nice and proper. The breakfast at the hotel was good, especially the juice maker.

Beautiful resort! Excellent location! Relaxed luxury resort with a fun California vibe. Beautiful, immaculate facilities and grounds. Plenty of meeting/conversation space. Refreshing pool and hot tub. Great food and drink. Superb, friendly and professional staff associates. The guestrooms are large and spacious. Very comfortable bedding. My guestroom included a refrigerator, microwave, safe, balcony and ceiling fan. The bathroom is average in size, but completely remodeled with nice upgrades. The resort's location is unbeatable. I and my colleagues really enjoy this resort when we visit Monterey. The Hyatt Regency receives my highest recommendation!!

We really enjoyed our stay here- hotel might be a little older- more noticeable in the hallway areas leading to rooms- but to be expected/anticipated for a hotel near a saltwater coast..I’m really picky and I’d stay here again. Spa and fitness center is awesome and the grounds are beautiful. Room super clean and nice having ability to park near room

Lovely Stay! Check-in and check-out processes were super convenient. The staff was warm, friendly, and very helpful. The grounds were exquisite. Love the water conservation efforts! There were so many places designed to accommodate meetings and leisure activities. I only wish I had the time to golf this trip!

The front desk was rude and unprofessional. The room was mediocre at best. I asked for 2 pairs of slippers, the front desk said okay. I waited more than an hour and didn’t get it. I had to call again to learn they were out of slippers. Excuse me? Is this supposed to be what Hyatt Regency looks like now?

Excellent place, beautiful lobby and restaurant. Room was clean and nice. They have 8 free EV chargers, most were always available. All facilities were well maintained like the tennis and pickle ball courts, pool, gym etc. Great resort to stay!

The Hyatt is the Hyatt. There is no other brand can compete with the Hyatt. The location is perfect (if you like to play golf, this is the place); the front desk staff were prompt, efficient, friendly and professional. The lobby area was beautiful and the food and beverage area is very convenient. There is a nice restaurant on the property. There rooms are well kept. Highly recommended

We were here years ago and had a much nicer experience, but our recent experience was terrible and disappointing. And sadly it's one of the "nicer" selections in the area (which prides itself on older, more rustic properties). Our room was in terrible shape (the lights near the mirror were literally shocking us with electricity) and this property (like several other Hyatt hotels and resorts) blasts music around the property until late in the evening/early in the morning. I'm guessing someone at Hyatt Corporate thinks this is what hipsters want or need, but unless you like EDM music vibrating your bed at 1 a.m. it's not really fun. A conference was here while we were here (it really should be rebranded as a conference center only) and 20+ members were in our hallway, again after 1 a.m., loudly drunkenly talking and carrying on. Staff is at best indifferent and often just shrugs at questions and/or reports of issues. This is not a 4 star hotel. Parts of it wouldn't even be a 3 star hotel. You're paying for an admittedly nice outdoor area and a golf course. This region needs a nicer luxury/new hotel, because this one ain't IT. (and no, Heidi, your canned response will not make me ever want to stay at this property again)

Loved staying here. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The beds are firm with a little softness. They have a couple of pools and spas and games outside for all. Like table tennis, jenga, corn hole, and a huge Connect four. A/C works great and the room has a fan. They do have a little cafe/market store but the food is not great. Had a breakfast burrito from there and it was small, wasn't good and definitely not worth the price of $10 but you can get other stuff like cold sandwiches, salads, fruit, boiled eggs.

Stayed here in 2012 then again in 2015. I plan on going back soon. Most likely where I’ll book again! The staff go above and beyond. The comfortability of the rooms and beds are unmatched. Also the most central location I’d want while staying in the peninsula. The restaurant attached on the front floor is nice and the gift shop is convenient. I’m not a golfer but this is a golfers heaven.

The hotel itself is beautiful with a lot of amenities. However, if you book on an outside website and pay in advance they put you out near the freeway where there's a lot of noise. The restaurant is more of a one-star hotel restaurant the steak dinner at $44 is probably worth 10 the Christmas evening buffet was $72 but probably worth 12 so I would give the restaurants maybe one star. The service was great but the food was less than I expected.

Pros: The outdoor swimming pool and the hot tub are great plus. The view from the room to the golf field is gorgeous. The location is good and not far away from the aquarium. Cons: The room was at most around 3-star level and was not in good condition and the room was not very clean when we checked in.

I recently stayed at the hotel while attending a conference. The conference facilities were nice and the food for all the catered meals were better than usual. I think it's a great venue for a conference. As for the hotel, the service was exceptional across the board, from the hotel front desk, to the bar and the room maid service. The location is not right on the beach, but it was pretty easy to get to the coastal bike path and beach by foot. The rooms were spacious, clean and I was comfortable. The main negative was the noise. I think there should be better sound-proofing but is likely due to the age of the building. Overall I think it is a nice place but a bit dated.

  • 3/5 325hpls1 10 months ago on Google
They REALLY need to work on the rooms and accessibility from unit sections to the elevator access. We stayed on unit E and access to the elevator is on unit like C, not practical at all. The rooms themselves aren't up to par for the price you pay. However if you are looking for nice upscale ambiance this place is definitely up to standards. Really liked the spa/sauna/steam room area.
