I
was
terrified
of
having
anything
done
to
my
eyes.
I
am
an
author
and,
although
Dr
Peter
Davies
had
replaced
my
husband's
lenses
a
few
years
ago,
I
hated
the
thought
of
anyone
touching
my
eyes.
Dr
Davies
had
been
monitoring
my
eyes
for
several
years
and
I
like
and
trust
him
so,
eventually,
with
25%
of
my
vision
taken
away
by
cataracts,
I
really
had
to
act.
October
2020
was
set
for
my
two
eye
operations,
two
weeks
apart.
The
care
taken
at
the
hospital
and
the
congeniality
of
the
staff
at
Newcastle
Eye
Hospital
is
fantastic.
All
Covid
19
precautions
are
in
place
and
the
whole
hospital
is
spotlessly
clean.
Now
it
is
over,
I
am
wondering
what
I
was
worried
about.
A
bit
like
having
a
big
filling
at
the
dentist,
the
worst
part
was
waiting
for
the
local
anaesthetic
to
wear
off.
I
can
see
properly
again
and
it
is
fantastic.
I
don't
have
to
run
for
my
glasses
to
see
the
television
or
to
drive
the
car.
Driving
at
night
is
no
longer
a
problem.
The
follow-up
was
equally
caring.
My
eyesight
was
checked
the
following
day
and
I
also
received
a
phone
call
from
a
nurse
to
ask
if
I
was
experiencing
any
problems
a
week
after
the
operation.
Everything
is
so
very
well
organised
at
Newcastle
Eye
Hospital
in
Waratah.
No
wonder
Dr
Davies
is
in
such
demand
and
has
a
wonderful
reputation!
