Same o same o and definitely not cheap. Standard fare parrilla with no special flair and average quality. Service from the main waiter was helpful and personable but the other servers seem to have no idea.

Great bbq spot. We had a mix of grilled meats and veggies. Friendly staff and they have menus in English. Update: Went again and they were equally as awesome. Can't wait to go again.

Walked in without a booking. They offered me a seat at the bar right in front of the grill. Awesome to see the asador tend to the meat and fire. The food was delicious, the service quick and with a smile and the beer was ice cold.

I was underwhelmed by this experience. Steak was very ordinary, service was slow and overall food was tasteless but expensive. The only thing that I liked about this place was ambience.

Well…. It was a scam…. We ordered ( as per waitress advice) the “ tasting menu” ( more expensive ). she was very assertive that was “ the best of the best” of meats…. Well…. It wasn’t. Literally a scam to charge you more and serve you a second grade meat and NOT Good. We trusted the staff and were very disappointed.

We visited lots of Parilladas before choosing La Otra and expected a lot from recommendations... but we were still amazed at the quality and vibe. Exquisite meal, great friendly help from waiter Angel. Best food in a week in Uruguay despite lovely restaurants every say....all this and great music on a Monday lunchtime! We even learnt that local rock star and TV chef Pablo 'Mota' Silvera is a regular and used to work there so it felt like THE Montevideo vacation experience. Thanks La Otra!

Had an incredible meal here when visiting Montevideo. The server was super helpful and really friendly. The drinks were great and refilled promptly. The food was some of the best we had in Uruguay. Can't recommend it enough, will definitely be coming back on our next visit.

Nice spot even has English menu available tho that doesn't insure you receive what you ordered. Mistakes happen and often North Americans roll with it but I still expect not to be charged for something not ordered still good food and atmosphere here

Yeh they get my 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic waiter! We tipped a little more because he was so good & food also absolutely 💯 top! Not to mention the wine 🍷 which we loved. Fair price as well! If you enjoy good bbq & wine then surely you can’t go wrong with this neighborhood joint!

La Otra blew me away. Without feeling stuffy or overly fancy, this has become my favorite meal in Montevideo. Get the sweet potato- it will change your life.

The meals were very tasty, but the waitress was quite bored and unfriendly to us. Maybe because our spanish was quite bad, don't know. And she has just added her tip without my permission. It's a totally no go for me!

Amazing Uruguayan bbq. We were with kids, ordered steaks and a milanesa, and what I suggest in your visit at this place is to order the milanesa or the rib eye steak. Both were between the best I tried. The staff was ver attentive and I will definitely come back before leaving this city.

An enjoyable locals tavern with a welcoming atmosphere for strangers. The chef/owner made a cross section of tapas for our group of four until we were too full for dessert. We plan to go back for a Torta course.

Restaurant with a soul and amazing ambient. The staff is very helpfull and kind. Food is just heavenly. Perfect if you go alone, on a date, with friends or with family. Definitely a must try in Montevideo.

Just an excellent experience! I sat at the bar was watches them work their magic. The chinchulines were high quality, with a great bite and flavor. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and nicely lean.

4 days in Montevideo and 2 nights at La Otra wasn’t enough! Relaxed friendly atmosphere, phenomenal food, great value. Morcilla, chorizo, y entraña.

Best place for meat a la parrilla. After eating at many different restaurants we decided to try this one and it was the best choice. We tried all the different meats and they were all delicious. Sergio is one of the owners and is a great guy!

Loved this place. Treated incredibly well and had one of the best steaks of my life. It seemed like it might be a neighborhood spot since there seemed to be a number of locals eating as well

If you're looking for an authentic, no frills, good service, solid parrilla options and some seriously buttery boniato (sweet potato), then this is where I would go. I've been here about 4 times with friends and for work dinners. Definitely great parrilla options and while the bread is simple, it is so darn good. I'll keep coming back.
