Free small museum. A bit boring if you aren't super familiar with Uruguayan history

Great but a sad and bloody account of history. Wonderful pics of early migrants.

Well made museum of the presidents of Uruguay throughout the years. The building was the old presidential palace and is quite beautiful. Entry is free, but only Spanish distributions.

When you go Plaza Independencia, you can also visit this Palacio Estevez. It’s for free to enter. You can know Uruguay history. But explanations are only in Spanish.

Really well done museum. Free entry, even for foreigners, with interesting displays and historical artifacts. The break in the museum during the Military Junta was very moving. Smaller, but definitely worth your visit.
