Gaston made our stay so easy going and hassle free. He was always prompt to accommodate our requests and going the extra mile. He was friendly and approachable, always prepared to anticipate our needs throughout our stay. I would overlook the state of the rooms because of the hospitality and warm welcomed displayed by Gaston.

I'd give it a solid 3.5/5 stars. The staff was excellent! And the lobby and restaurant were excellent too. Very modern and updated. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the lounge area. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. And the view from the restaurant was quite nice. The room, on the other hand, was quite bad. Not only was it old and musty, there were stains on the walls and sheets, bathroom had mildew. The furniture was dented and damaged. Barely any accessible plugs to charge your phone. It's at the end of the old town so its a bit more sketchy...but its a short walk to the attractions. The difference between lobby/restaurant/common areas and the rooms is SO vast...can't explain it!

Hotel NH Montevideo is okay. It's well located, and the rooms are generally fine. The hotel and rooms are in need of some TLC, but I slept well during my stay, and breakfast was very nice. The dirty floors in my room, the leaky shower, the broken kettle, the broken lift, and the lax staff let the place down a little. The maid ignored the 'Do Not Disturb' sign and let herself into my room (as well as all my colleagues) whilst I was in bed, and proceeded to go around my room cleaning, and asking if I had any laundry. I was amused when, standing in just my boxer shorts, she proceeded to give me a firm handshake before walking off with all my towels!

A few years back I stayed at the NH and must say I was positively surprised. My room would face directly the river, the walks on the Rambla were amazing and the staff was highly trained and very professional. This time I preferred the Sheraton for work, but the NH stays what places the Radisson will never be...a friendly good place for tourists. Not a bad choice at all!

The hotel is a true 2 star hotel. The rooms are renovated to 1980 standards, but the location is good if you have a car.

Nice hotel, getting a little tired. Windows made noises when the wind blew. Aircon didn't blow any cold air. Bed was good and linen was nice. Staff very helpful.

I was at NH hotel one night on 15th December 2022. It was rude experience from reception lady on morning 16th December. At reception is coffee machine which I have had use evening before free of charge. Next morning I asked lady on reception to have a coffee, when she said that I have to pay for it. I said there is no problem to pay, just tell me how much and will be good that you post price list for guests who likes it. She said 100 pesos for coffee, I have handed to her 5 euros and said give me back the change. I made myself a coffee and waiting for change while she was dealing with other guests. Later I asked her where is my change and she ignored me. Also later during the check out she was ignoring any answer on my issue. I will be there again next week as my company have booked hotel for me and many of my coleagues are in hotel during all year. It is not problem to pay, it is huge problem to be ignored, under estimated as a guest and human being. As a 4 star hotel should make more hospitality and be faster in service. That coffee is just a small thing what means a lot to see how it all works. See you soon...

I don't recommend this hotel at all. There are a few issues with it, but I think it's best described as a place way past its prime. Location: it's near ciudad vieja, which is a plus, but it's still a few blocks from the area you actually want to be in, and you don't want to be walking around the hotel area at night. Very isolated and rundown. The coast is also not very pretty as it's pretty destroyed. Rooms: This is the biggest issue with the hotel. The rooms are extremely old and have not been renovated in decades. The air conditioner looked like it came from the 70s and couldn't keep up (even though it wasn't a hot day). Bathroom also looked very old (my wife decided to shower at our next destination to avoid using it). Curtains also looked like they've never been changed and were stained. Service: Service was fine, nothing special. The rooms were clean, it's the biggest plus. They also had outlets that accommodated different types of international plugs. Overall, try booking somewhere else that's a bit more expensive, it will be worth it.

Old and shabby, Breakfast has a lot of space for improvement. Service is not rude but not very diligent. Toilets of the rooms are very old and need replacement. Heard that they already started renovations on upper floors, didn't get to see them though. Location is very good. Nice sunset views.

Nice hotel, decent rooms and friendly staff. Gym is very poor. Offer for breakfast could be improved as well, not much choice of food

I really loved this hotel. The rooms were well equipped, we only ever lacked some small trinkets and such. Attention was incredibly kind and precise, they're willing to go the extra mile. As for the restaurant, breakfasts are awesome and the attention is as well.

The staff were awesome. The hotel was poor. There are two sizes of rooms with big ones at the front and small ones at the back of the hotel. Our room was not as pictures with out the desk and other features. The drains smelt bad and the room didn’t smell nice. The staff at breakfast were LOVELY and Marianna on the front desk was so helpful. We loved the staff. They couldn’t do anything about the smell and other things but they were super helpful and friendly. We stayed ten days and would have checked out sooner if we hadn’t got a non-refundable rate.

Solidly built, spacious (I don’t have to leave the room to exercise). Great A/C, nice texture wallpaper, dividing bedroom door, humongous wardrobe, skirting boards, cornices, high ceilings, a bathroom that actually has a bath w/bidet and isn’t poky and no carpet on the floor. Furniture that easily accommodates opening your large suitcase, lights that do work and a mini-bar. What a location! A Welcome Station with fruit and drinks. Coffee and T making facilities in the room. Professionally managed with a service directory in your room. Nickolas at reception, our waitress that helped me with my Spanish and the Chef all do a fantastic job. I nearly forgot to mention the foyer at the restaurant has a Grand Piano.

One of the worst 2 star hotels ever been. Please stay away from this hotel. The rooms are very small with nothing to offer other than a bed. I even had to call the front desk as they are doing some kind of renovation and they woke me up in the morning with lots of noises. The breakfast looks better in the pictures than what it actually is when you see it, very basic breakfast with lots of sweet things but that’s it. I won’t recommend this hotel at all to anyone and I have been to many NH hotels in Europe where they are totally different
