Very nice hotel. The room was not very spacious, but still it was very nice especially the huge bed. Fast internet was good as well. The location is also very central. Although there was a big construction site next door, we did not hear any noise. Only thing which could be improved was the breakfast. It is served in a nice room on the 6th floor with a nice few, but although we were not late for breakfast the buffet was already very empty and the staff did not fill it up again.

Rooms are spacious, a bit old but clean. There were some bikes free to use but unfortunately they really needed maintenance. Breakfast is basic, but does the work to start the day.

Worst hotel I've ever stepped my foot in. It's 1 star hotel if we gonna be honest. Breakfast was bad, but the room was catastrophe. Do they even have cleaning? Look at the pictures. Surely the positive reviews on here must be fake.

As a Canadian traveler with large family, this boutique hotel in central Montevideo was one of the finest places I have stayed at. The front lobby staff (especially Laura) were incredibly helpful and English was very good. They are available on whatsapp to answer questions prior to your visit. The roof top breakfast dining was really great spread with hot meals. The location is generally safe and walking distance to the central commercial district. The famous Palacio Salvo and Plaza Independencia are a block away. Lots of eateries (Americano Cafe really good), pharmacies, laundry, and convenience stores. The history of revitilzation of this hotel reminded me of the incredible boutique hotels of Queen St W in Toronto (a bit like Drake Hotel with a more family feel). The rooms are not large as it is an older building conversion but offers a comfortable and clean upgrade.

It's ok for a short stay with basic amenities

The rooms are not equipped with smart TVs. Bathroom is ready for an upgrade. The morning breakfast was really disappointing - 2 of the 3 days were hard boiled eggs.

My wife visited the hotel because of her work. The 4.2 points rate showed is excessive. Breakfast is bad, everything looks old, the area around the hotel is nasty. Try to look for something else if possible

I really had no idea Wyndham could be so bad this totally destroyed my brand perspective, dirty room with stains everywhere, terrible maintenance, awful smell on the curtains which are held by tape not even a cover on the bed

It was a great experience. The room was spotless, the mattresses firm, the breakfast outstanding, and the service friendly. I can totally recommend the Esplendor.

The breakfast is terrible, it has only a lot of breads but only cheese and ham and many sweets. It also lacks on Juice. I mean, it didnt feel like I paid for it because it didn't have any options at all. The room was ok, the bed was really good but some things would not work and it would take a some shifts for them to work on it. It was a pleasant stay but the food quality makes us feel as if they were doing us a favor, terrible choices!

Great service by the staff. The place is very clean and well maintained despite of it being an old building. They have a good buffet for breakfasts and also a gym and a pool. They don't have a restaurant but that's ok, it's near of 18 de julio avenue, which has a lot of restaurants.

Good Hotel near downtown. This hotel is kinda a boutique hotel and seems to me was clean. Stayed here just one night. the building is an old one so, the rooms are very spacious. The internet wasn’t working properly and the breakfast was ... “ok” For a business trip works !

Nice and modern reception area; however the hotel is in an old area. The hotel itself is a renovated old building with orignal wood floors in the rooms. The rooms are ok, not super clean or fancy. The bedding could use serious improvement. The sheets were so thin I could clearly make out the mattress designs, and to top it off the fitted sheet was stained and had little holes. They need mattress covers! The bathrooms were a bit more modern, but the design was such that water goes all over the floor and generates mold down the side of the tub. There was no free bottled water, only one in the room mini bar that wasn't refilled the next day. The hotel front desk staff was less than attentive and not very helpful. Everything we asked for they couldn't assist with, including getting bottled water, which happens to be locked in fridge in the small reception room. Parking is limited to very small cars. The buffet breakfast was good; they had lots of breads, scrambled eggs and bacon but the coffee was terrible. I think it was the water that gave it the bad taste and smell. We didn't use the pool, but it looked really nice!

    - The matress was really uncomfortable and worn-out. - The room has a horrible smell. - The stairs wall is full of dampness. - The rooms had no view. - Stains in all of the furniture. - There is only 2 small lifts for the entire hotel, it gets busy. - The breakfast is bad to say the least. No good coffee, no hot milk. - Check in was delayed. Definitely not a 4 stars hotel
