Very friendly staff and nice common areas. Nice kitchen. The bathroom is a bit dirty. The worst part though is that there doesn't seem to be any hour of quietness. People were screaming and laughing loudly until 2 am on a Tuesday. I will change hostel tomorrow.

One of the best hostels I've booked. Staff is super nice! Very relaxed and cosy. Rooms were cleaned daily, even beds were good and they changed the bed sheets. Wifi connection was good, they had a PC, TV. Bathrooms were clean and everything was functioning like it should. I can recommend this place for sure. Everything was good there. Thanks for the stay!

Nice hostel, cosy feel. Layout slightly like a shared house. Beds were comfy and was warm enough in the rooms. Breakfast was included and good WiFi.

Dirtiest, rudest place I've seen in my travels. Do not waste your time or money, they are unprofessional and the space is repulsive.

This place is to be avoided at all costs. Not only was it disgusting lead dirty but we had a terrible experience with the staff that escalated quickly into threats of calling police over something as simple as how they lost a room key. Me and my two friends were treated extremely poorly we are not sure if it was an issue of racism as it was perpetrated by non afro descendant employees against an African-American friend with us. They wrongfully accused us of entry without paying (I never entered the room just the lobby), of stealing (without proof) and they aggressively and violently threatened us, and physically blocked in (they stood in between us and the doorway not allowing us to leave for over a half hour.) In the end, we had to jump on ver the fence because they were threatening to arrest us... The only issue that occurred was I was visiting a friend and instead of telling me that there were no guests allowed, they immediately yelled at my friend who was the guest there and kicked him out. Then they told him he couldn't leave. How are you going to kick someone out and then bar their exit ? The staff purposefully hid the key or , and because we could not hand them back the key, even though we offered to pay for it and for the room for the next night, they insisted on blocking the door. This felt very much like an ambush and we were literally held hostage for a half hour before we had to escape the garden where they were holding us. I did nothing wrong I broke no rules, and these included pictures are my injuries from having to climb over The fence since they were not permitting me to leave which was not legally right or justified in anyway. I've never been treated so poorly in any country and all of my travels and I believe they could and should be sued for extreme mistreatment of guests. Multiple other guests at the house or extremely upset and confused by what was going on. It was a young woman who is running the hospital and at all younger man as well that we're collaborating to harass us.

Do not recommend at all. The place is really dirty, the bathroom smells like urine permanently and the kitchen utensils have stains that show that they haven’t been properly cleaned in quite a long time. I was really uncomfortable during my whole stay and complaints about the cleanliness of the place - in fact, about the absolute lack of it - were dismissed.

Despite not staying in their hostel I messaged them to ask for local recommendations that aren't always obvious for tourists. They responded quickly and thoroughly, taking my preferences into consideration and were helpful in recommending things to see that aren't on every "top 10" list. Highly recommend!

Genuinely unsure how this hostel has such high reviews. I booked for 3 nights but left after the first because everything about it was a poor experience. There was only 1 functioning bathroom for the entire hostel, and the sink in the separate toilet room didn’t dispense any water. I noticed upon checking in that the bed sheets were old and dirty, and the comfort of the mattresses was no better. There seemed to be no heat in the hostel, so everyone had their winter coats and scarves on just to sit comfortably inside. On top of this, it was incredibly hard to socialize with not only guests but also staff and the overall atmosphere and energy was super off-putting and uncomfortable. I’ve stayed in over 50 hostels and have even slept on airport floors, so I’m not picky when it comes to accommodation and this was genuinely one of my worst experiences in years of traveling. 2 points for the cute bunny on site and the fact that Pocitos is a great location in Montevideo.

So sad the staff member was rude and racist refused my friend from America a room. I wanted to pay extra room for him. We are here for work. All other staff have been amazing. I love this place but I can’t believe all we wanted was to charge our phones get out of the rain and go to the conference.

Definitely recommend this place. Herado is one of the staff here here and he is an absolute legend .

Had a great stay here! We had a quiet and air conditioned room at the back of the house with its own terrace. Lovely kitchen and garden area. It has a very nice home feel. Only advice is to give the kitchen & bathrooms a deep clean!

Nice little hostel, friendly and welcoming we partied with the owners and they really looked after us, was a great visit.

Very nice hostel, quite expensive, but it's very well located, you can go to several places within a 10-15 minute walk, or take a bus, either to the center, to the bus terminal or parks. It has outside space to make bbq as well a full kitchen and washer machine. The house is old and speaceable 2 floors house, I stayed in the double room, on ground. The bathrooms are clean and work well. The only though is about the breakfast: usually eats so well in Montevideo and don't have any ham and cheese for the breakfast is a shame!
