Baar Fun Fun

Bar

🫤 Sadly we don't recommend tge bar at all. We were told that us one of the really good bars in Montevideo. Sadly, poor service and overpriced food. Small portions for the price and bad service. We needed to wait for 15 min every time we wanted to order something or to pay, the waitress didn't ask for... People often mention tango, show, good, music, great, Tango,

Sadly we don't recommend tge bar at all. We were told that us one of the really good bars in Montevideo. Sadly, poor service and overpriced food. Small portions for the price and bad service. We needed to wait for 15 min every time we wanted to order something or to pay, the waitress didn't ask for her tip, she directly put it in the bill (and she didn't deserve it) and the discount in the bill for paying by foreign card wasn't correct. Maybe the tango show is good but we didn't even stay to watch it. Not recommended!

I give 2 stars because the staff is horrific but the performances are really great. I would give 5 stars for tango dancers, 4 stars for female singer and 3 stars for the opening male singer. However, the bar is not turist-friendly: We arrived from NYC, and really wanted to see the tango show, bought a ticket for funfun, and they sit us all the way at the back where you cannot see anything. We asked them to sit us somewhere closer and if the price is higher we will pay for better table. They said that better tables are only reserved for frequent Uruguayan customers that come here every week. So, if you are turist, expect to be sitted in the furthest corner.

Fantastic. The tango trio did a marvelous performance. Of course bought their T- shirt and liquor glasses. They were very hospitable. Tango girls and their partner included the audience and danced with them. If you are in this city, this is a must.

I just love this place! I stayed in Montevideo 3 days and I visited twice. The best concerts and drinks! The stuff is very friendly.

I absolutely love this place. Music might be a bit loud and prices a bit high but the stories behind this bar are endless. Don't forget to try "Uvita", the local drink and enjoy the evening watching Tango.

As an Uruguayan who visited the old bar fun fun, it broke my heart to visit this new site. It lost the charm of its dark, hidden, tango atmosphere to become something like a fishbowl. The artistic curtains they drop right before the start of the show help just enough. We ordered the parrilla board. The diced steak and chicken were overcooked so it was not enjoyable. The service is not first class by any stretch of the imagination. But the biggest let down was the show itself. Lots of clownish, cheap comments, just two nice tangos and LOTS of ambiance argentinian music. It is a shame that an Uruguayan show must be remembered by argentinian singers like Charly Garcia. I like him but I paid good money to see and enjoy an Uruguayan show that never happened. Furthermore, there was no social distancing, people were jumping all over other guests with no respect whatsoever

Too much fun-fun to be legal. We came here for a Tango show after a tour of Montevideo city and had a great time. The performers had fantastic charisma with us and with each other, and they actually came into the audience and danced with quite a few of us. (No tango experience required, so no worries! I saw quite a few Swing moves and “Wedding Shuffles” out there.) Uruguayans love their Tango, and if you want to better understand the hearts of these people, head over to Fun Fun!

Great cultural experience but the food wasn’t great! The tango show was amazing and we danced Tango!

Great atmosphere and spot to listen to live music. Prices were very reasonable and you have to try the uvita, their homemade, famous drink. Service is very slooooow, so don’t be in a rush

Don’t believe the good reviews!! This place will rip you off when given the chance, especially if you are a foreigner. (Check out all the negative reviews on Trip Advisor if you don’t believe me.) They will charge you for drinks you never ordered or received, so review your tab CLOSELY! The cover is also ridiculously high for what you get…awful bar food (believe me, it’s terrible!) and a short tango show that is less impressive than what you’ll find in Plaza Fabini on any weekend. SKIP THIS PLACE!!!

The bar is lovely and the music was great. Just be aware that when there is live music there is a cover charge of UR $390 (approx £8) which is shown on the corner of the menu, which we didn't notice, but they don't point it out to you. Fine, if you are spending all evening there, but it makes it an expensive beer when you are only popping in for one as we did.

Excellent ambiance and live music, and the food was surprisingly good (some of the reviews had me thinking it wouldn’t be). Service was a bit slow, but the whole point of being here is to take it slow and enjoy the performance. The staff was warm and friendly. Highly recommended!

We visited Baar Fun Fun located in Montevideo Uruguay South America and noticed a picture of actor Danny Glover on the wall. What a pleasant surprise. I must mention we had an amazing time. I had a chance to dance the Tango with the professional dancers

Absolutely so much fun! Hype live music, phenomenal tengo and good eats! Their house specialty, the Uvita, was soooo good! I had two and convinced the rest of the table to try it lol Ordered a vegetarian pizza and a carne pizza, both cut into strips to share with the table. Our vegetarian pizza accidentally had ham instead of mushrooms, but our waitress was kind and quickly reordered a new pizza. Also ordered a Daikiri and it was less than stellar for me. Overall, it was a great night! Music started late, but that just meant we could dance the night away ✨️

👍👍 A posh craft beer bar with a hip hop ambience, there are plenty of tables and every corner of the bar is painted nicely. A pint of beer is 210 pesos (5 usd aprox) which is a fair deal in Uruguay. It's a self service style and there are plenty of craft beers to choose from!
