Place is fun to visit. One can have classy photos there as it gives a good perspective of the full city. Many expats from Brazil , Argentina are also visible there as it's a main tourist attraction. Once in a month or so the paint on the letters will be changed which always gives letters anew look and us a reason to visit again. It have some benches where one can sit and enjoy the cool breeze and exciting music that the waves carry. At evening many localites( Uruguay Nationals) comes there and play some music in their cars or speakers and enjoy the view. But while going there at night, be careful of your belongings as if you are an expat then homeless people can target you and ask for money. As an expat I prefer to go there in a group of friends at late night time.

Crowded viewpoint. You can get a decent shot. It’s worth waiting around for it (you have to, it’s since the lack of sights in Montevideo brings rows of busses here).

Best place for a morning picture or video, and unique if taken with a Drone local company. You can find it white, green, multicolor or other depending on temporary commemorative dates.

Great spot for pictures. The shoreline goes on for miles and miles. Serene and beautifully maintained

A good place for a photo memory. The MONTEVIDEO letters, with a wonderful view in the background will give you an enduring memory. There are some thoughtless people who hang around behind the letters after taking their photos, and don't move out of the way so that others can take their photos.

Letters are a lot smaller than I imagined (maybe 6ft) Cute stop tho and the backdrop is beautiful. We visited around noon and it wasn't super crowded but I think we just got lucky. It's probably much more picturesque at night, wish we could come back to see ☹️

It's a beautiful location for some touristic pictures at sunset!

This is a great place to take a few photos when visiting Montevideo. It's close to the beach and upscale hotels. The only disadvantage is that it did involve walking up a dirt path that would be difficult for anyone mobility impaired. You could stop a vehicle briefly on the highway next to the sign to avoid that walk, but that doesn't seem like a safe option at many times of day.

Well, this is it! This is one of your to-dos in Montevideo and probably the best way of remembering that you were here! Montevideo sign isn't anything special but again, it is just symbolic. You will run into other tourists here trying to take pictures but I don't think it will get too crowded ever.

Great place to visit in Montevideo! A must go for first timers. Beautiful oversight of the bay and the La Plata river with the skyline of Montevideo at the background. Short time visit, a quick stop during an all around walk or city tour.

It's an impressive attraction with large letters spelling out "Montevideo" and offers a fantastic view. This type of attraction is usually very popular among tourists and locals alike as it provides a unique opportunity for photos and enjoyable moments. If you're in Montevideo, you should definitely visit it to enjoy the view and capture the experience.

Tourist photo opportunity. The letters are on a hill with the beach and blocks of flats in the background. A nice and easy walk along the ramble to this site. There is parking nearby.

As a free activity to do this should be on the list with a walk along the beach front. It's a popular place so be ready to wait for your photo

It's a nice place do take some beautiful pictures, with the sea on the background. I recommend you to go on the morning, we went on the afternoon and there was a shadow from the sun on the letters (and it was very hot but it was still nice!). You can also enjoy a beautiful walk along the beach on your way there.

Let's face it: you can't go to any city without visiting the iconic City Sign (if it has one) 🤩 Montevideo is no exception. A bit far off for those staying in ciudad vieja but the beautiful walk along the Rambla makes it worth your while

We visited the sign on a very sunny day at the end of December and there were a lot of people there. However, we did get nice pictures with the sign. Sometimes it's pictured white, but at the moment the sign is painted in blue!

Quite the tourist place. The sign is nice and freshly painted, offer a nice view toward the city but is more a one picture kind of thing.

The classic touristic place to visit in Montevideo but this is cool, calm, with nice view, and very convenient to walk or just seat and see (& heard) the sea :)

So worth going to document your trip to the heart of South America. The view from the rambla is gorgeous, and the park and beach are a nice place to relax and spend some quality time.

We were “lucky” to catch a performance directly in front or on the letters… Besides that, the view is really nice if you don’t mind the strong smell of fuel coming from the road (but it’s everywhere in Uruguay, so you somehow get used to it).
