I went to La Vanguardia 1934 with my family a couple of weeks ago, and I must say it was quite a pleasant experience. We arrived and were seated instantly. We were given quite a nice table, with a view of the kitchen, which I personally enjoy. The menu is nice with enough variety. I got milanesa for my main course, which I do not regret. Generous portions, delicious taste. Very friendly staff, very attentive, and service was quite good. Fast free WiFi is always a plus in my book. Heavily recommend it, but it's advisable to get a reservation just in case because it gets busy.

Over fried potatoes, bad cooked rice. 270 peso for burned potato and 890 peso for decent fish? Over price

It's a nice place to have lunch or dinner, but for the price I would have expected more in terms of the food and the place. We ordered milanesas and salads. The salads were "ok".

Very friendly staff and excellent food. We already visited La Vanguardia 1934 for several times and their high quality service is constant. Buena onda!!

Food was served very fast but had good quality and taste though. Prices are mid-ranged and justified. Nice atmosphere as the restaurant looks stylish and a little bit fancy but has really relaxed and friendly service staff.

We've just eat the best lamb! It was amazing! La Vangardia isn't the cheapest(mid-ranged) place but really worth it! I do recommend here if you're in town or live in Montevideo.

I had the beef one night and the beet ravioli filled with pumpkin (pictured below) the next day. Both delicious. Highly recommended!

Very good and very good service. The cheesecake was amazing. A bit pricey for lunch (but I guess everything is pricey in Montevideo).

Have had a number of meals thee since we arrived. Every one has been delicious. The wait staff have been very patient with our struggling spanish. Mist of them have at least some english, so between the two is has been a fun experience.

Wonderful dinner! They served an excellent bread with spread to begin. For entradas the langostinos and pulpo del chef were excellent! For main dishes the lamb was very tender and covered in a dark sauce. The squash ravioli had an earthy taste and I was glad to be able to balance the vegetable dish with bites of lamb. The desserts were truly incredible, the chocolate volcano and toblerone cheesecake. I honestly can’t say which one I enjoyed more. The cheesecake had an amazing sauce with berries. Such a great experience!

Best bar I've been in Montevideo. Great service with cold beers and tasty tapas. I want to return and try their cocktails which I'm sure they are also pretty good.

👍👍 A posh craft beer bar with a hip hop ambience, there are plenty of tables and every corner of the bar is painted nicely. A pint of beer is 210 pesos (5 usd aprox) which is a fair deal in Uruguay. It's a self service style and there are plenty of craft beers to choose from!
