Great selection of dishes and drinks, good quality, although the portion size could be improved. The service varied on the waiter as it was very busy, but in particular, the waiter (Derrick, I believe was his name) and waitress with blonde hair were very attentive and efficient. As we were a big group of 11 celebrating a birthday dinner, we were satisfied by their excellent service!

Really excellent and high quality Japanese food! Everything we ate was fresh, flavourful and pretty authentic. We were a big group, but six of us shared a bunch of entrees and a couple main dishes and we each had drinks and a round of shots as well. For all that the price split 6 ways was pretty good! And the service was on point. Our server came and checked on us regularly, ensured we had everything we needed. My ONLY complaint is that we were there celebrating a birthday and the very small piece of cake they brought was actually charged, maybe that's a thing restaurants do now but other places I've been to in the past always gave that for free. There's a second reason I bring this up though and that's because it wasn't a good dessert. It was matcha flavour cheesecake and those flavours do not mix well. Many of us tried it and no one liked it, even though many of us like those two things separately, it just wasn't good together. Thanks for the wonderful dinner and experience! I plan to go back for a date night!

For my first try at Japanese tapas, I'm happy to say I'm definitely doing this again! We ordered warm sake to start our meal and warm up, with Takoyaki and Yakiniku Izakaya (rare beef strips served on a platter with the perfect sauce and a sizzling stone to cook yourself). Highly suggest to go for the grill menu as it's their specialty and makes for a fun meal, but we were also craving a ramen at the time, so we shared a bowl. Also, pls dont take sake as shots, unless its called a sake bomb... Warm sake is to be enjoyed in small sips throughout meal! The yakiniku beef was fresh, juicy and delicious alongside the sauce. You can choose to marinate before cooking on the stone, or cook first and dip the sauce afterwards, to your taste. For anyone trying this out, dont take too long to take your pictures as your stone might get cold and you'll miss out on that satisfying sizzling sound as the meat hits the stone. We noticed other tables taking a long time for the perfect shot 😂📸 The Tonkotsu ramen hit just the spot, with 2 lightly marinated and perfectly grilled fat slices of pork belly, al dente noodles and a thick, rich and creamy broth. We took the matcha cheese cake for dessert which came with a berry coulis and topped with light whipped cream. Lovely meal overall, delicious food, and dont be afraid to ask the staff for tips and advice if you're unsure on the best way to enjoy the meal 🙏

Imadake Izakaya: A Vibrant Tapestry of Grilled Enchantment Tucked within a leisurely stroll from the Atwater metro station, Imadake Izakaya beckons as an authentic haven of Japanese gastronomy and the convenience of abundant paid parking in close proximity ensures a seamless journey. While a series of steps grace the entrance, it's worth noting that the absence of wheelchair accessibility is a limitation that gently underscores the spirited aura within. As you step across the threshold, a symphony of boisterous patrons enraptured in their culinary indulgence welcomes you. The bustling energy weaves an intoxicating atmosphere that authentically embodies the izakaya experience. Amidst this lively canvas, the establishment stands as a paragon of efficient staffing. Despite the joyful chaos, the service remains an embodiment of excellence. Our server gracefully navigated the dance of orders, ensuring our dining sojourn flowed seamlessly as we delighted in multiple rounds of exquisite fare. The journey through flavors was nothing short of poetic. Grilled seafood and meats emerged as orchestrated symphonies of taste, each morsel perfected to achieve the zenith of succulence and flavor. The 1-liter Sapporo beer, cradled in a chilled, thick glass mug, retained its frosty allure—a small detail that speaks volumes about the meticulous care woven into every aspect. The embrace of warm sake added an exquisite layer of comfort, a delightful elixir that kindled warmth within. Imadake Izakaya radiates as a luminous star within Montreal's culinary constellation. It isn't just about the culinary offerings—it's an orchestration of ambiance, service, and flavors that elegantly dance together. Every element of Imadake Izakaya is imbued with distinction, a testament to a commitment to excellence that resonates in every bite and sip. Amidst this orchestration, a reasonable price point underscores the dedication to offering an exceptional experience within easy reach. In honor of its profound impact on both palate and spirit, Imadake Izakaya is unequivocally deserving of a well-earned five-star rating. As steadfast patrons, we eagerly anticipate the continuation of this enchanting culinary journey, savoring the vivacious experience that awaits with every visit.

Fantastic ramen in a great ambiance! Tried sake bombs for the first time, was not disappointed! The only downside was that we reserved ahead of time but still waited a good 20 minutes to be seated.

I visited this restaurant after me and my bf came across it in the Japanese food festival. This is currently my new favvvv Japanese restaurant !! I ordered the following food items: - Gyu Tataki - Butabara Yakitori Style - Shoyu Tonkotsu Baka Ramen - Kuromayu Ramen - Raindrop Cake The Gyu Tataki, it’s a dish featuring thinly sliced seared beef, was a revelation of textures and flavors. Each tender bite was complemented by the tangy citrus-infused sauce. This was my absolute favourite. <3 The Butabara Yakitori Style, succulent pork skewers grilled to perfection, with the tender, smoky meat offered an explosion of umami flavors, leaving me wanting more of it. I don’t have any words to describe the raindrop cake other than simply asking you all to try it. It was honestly something I didn’t expect (in an amazingly good way). Sake Bomb was on the house since we had visited the Japanese food festival and had gotten a coupon for a free one. (You must surely have the sake bomb once!!) The fusion of delectable dishes, lively ambiance, and attentive service makes it an ideal destination for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts (like me). I am gonna be visiting again soon to try the other items on the menu.

The vibe was pretty nice! People and servers were super hyped and in the mood for sake bomb which is fun! The ramen is pretty average, could def find better ones around the town with a more reasonable price. The fried squid is good but a bit overpriced. However, the servers were nice and friendly but the food is just okay overall and slightly overpriced.

Came here for my birthday and really enjoyed myself, sometimes it’s a bit noisy for a date of 2 people but definitely a great place to go with a group and get lots of appetizers and drinks!

Great casual spot for a nice Japanese meal! Enjoyed the experience there. The staffs were attentive and they are very helpful and accommodating with food allergies. Recommended: - Kara Age (fried chicken, very juicy), - Gindara (miso marinated black cod 😋SO SO SO SO SO GOOD) - Kuro Kare Curry with Pork Katsu

Food was alright. The shrimp was my favorite. Dessert is horrible. Btw the chicken portion is more than whats in pic ( i was hungry i ate before i remember to take a picture) black cod was good too. ( sorry no pic too) oh btw they don’t do curry anymore. So if u see a picture dont expect to get it at the restaurant.

Great place, lovely staff & amazing food. It's a little loud for my taste but will definitely come back. Compliments to the major D and our waiter, Jae took great care of us along the evening. Do yourself a favor and have a sake bomb... it's fun.

The baka ramen was delicious! A bit salty at the end but very rich in flavor! My palate was in agreement with the waiter's recommendations (Johnson) of the night. The cocktail Tenshi No Namida was light but quite tasty. The Gyu tataki was delicious and i loved the almond crunch but i wish there were more pieces for the price, same goes for the shrimp tempura ebi mayo, wish there was an extra piece or 2! The environment is very loud so it's not ideal for a date but with loud friends it's great ! The imadake beer is also pretty good, you can even get a 1L glass! I'd come back for the ramen! 🍜

We went here yesterday and we’re served by Nancy, who seemed to be taking care of the entire restaurant. She was amazing and made our experience memorable with her energy and care for us to have a great time. The food was amazing, varied and for my friend and I to stuff ourselves with two sake-bombs and three cocktails, it came down to about 80-90$ per person. Will come back here! And highly recommend going on Fridays and Saturdays because I believe that’s when Nancy works.

Me and my boyfriend went there 2 times already. The food is overall quite good, I had beef tongue for the first time of my life, it was tasty, the grilled calamari were okay, the ramen soup was quite nice, the broth had a lot of taste. For the drinks we had 3 cocktails from their cocktail menu, their Long Island ice tea, was mostly tasting gin with some floral infusion. Overall we had a great night, it’s worth the stop for the ambiance as well!

I’m from Japan, I know how Japanese food should taste. They have actual Japanese izakaya menu, I tried three dishes and nothing disappointed me. Servers are friendly and provide great service. Definitely recommend this place.

A decently sized restaurant that has a great atmosphere to it. The music is good, the food is absolutely delicious! The meal times are fast and are definitely worth the price for what you pay. And the service is impeccable 👌. I haven't eaten at a restaurant where the service and food has been this good in a very, very, long time. I highly recommend eating here if anyone gets the chance to! You won't be disappointed. Trust me on this! P.S. You've gotta try the cheesecake. It's AMAZING 🫠😋

Very pleasantly surprised by our dinner! Food was authentic and delicious. Especially enjoyed our Gindara Misozuke (perfection!!) and Ebi Mayo. Service was very good as well. Our only minor complaint is that the music was a bit too loud for our liking, and consequently everyone had to scream even louder to hear each other.

It's great for the sake bombs and the ambiance, but quite pricey if you are hungry lol. Small-ish portions. Service was fast, drinks were delicious and staff very friendly/respectful.

We ordered tons of things to try out, and everything turned out pretty well. Good cook and flavors, really fast service. Favorites would be the tuna tataki and beef short ribs. Note that this place is LOUD in the evenings. Low ceiling, small space, people packed in shouting over each other to be heard. More of a student bar atmosphere than anything else. I give the food 4 stars.

Imadake was incredible. It’s great delicious Japanese food and we got all small shared plate dishes. The service was super friendly and quick. The chicken skewers were amazing we just needed to order about 10 more of them because they were so good. And the seaweed salad was super tasty even with the surprise of a lot of lettuce under the seaweed. The nuts on the fried shrimp were mind blowingly good. We’re definitely going back. Some reviews complain about the noise, but it wasn’t that bad. I mean, it’s a Japanese pub so it seemed exactly what you’d expect from a pub environment. Sitting on box stools and music was expected and didn’t diminish the taste of the food!

Terrific experience. The staff are plentiful and welcoming. Lots of menu options and drink selections. There’s one hot sake which made that choice easy and there’s 2 types of beer. Sapporo or their in house (whatever it happens to be at the time) this time it was a nice red ale. They have a lot of variety on the menu from pho, curry, rare or raw fish. They even have a rib eye that you cook yourself on a hot stone which is always fun (food and activity all in 1)! It’s a decently large place so we didn’t have or need a reservation. Would recommend!
