Visiting the Charlie Chaplin museum above the city of Vevey yesterday was like coming back to my childhood. I remember going to Rome with my parents in 1954. The cinema facing our hotel Inghilterra close to the Spanish steps played Limelight and the loudspeakers were facing my hotel room keeping me awake till well after midnight every night. I think I have seen almost all of Chaplin's films from his early years till his more political films from the end of his career before being expelled from the US so there was not much that I didn't recognize or remember. However for the younger generation, this museum is a treasure trove and well worth visiting. When you enter the museum you are first shown a 10 min summary of his most important production and are thereafter directed to a series of rooms where you are shown how his films were shot and directed. In the nearby mansion where he lived with his young wife and children after having left the US you can partly see how the family lived and partly photographs and other memorabilia from his rich life. The shop is very commercially oriented. If you didn't know much about Charlie Chaplin you should definitely spend half a day here not forgetting to stroll through the magnificent park surrounding the mansion.

One of the best museum I’ve seen. Lot’s of content and the amazing studio sets. So nice to visit his house, where he lived with his family in Switzerland. Parking at the museum and I also recommend the restaurant. The food was very tasty and with a good price for CH

If I want to describe this place in just one word, I should say that it is AMAZING and it is a must-see place in Vevey. With your ticket you can visit four places: Chaplin’s house (In 3 floors and a balcony. He was living there for the last 25 years of his life! After visiting this home, you literally can feel yourself part of Charlie Chaplin’s family.), Chaplin’s Studio (here you can watch and enjoy a 10 minutes movie about highlights of Charlie Chaplin’s life and then you go through different stage sets of his movies), the garden and the souvenir shop. The staff are really informative and helpful and at least they can speak two languages: English and french. Chaplin’s World is just great and interesting and it is really worth visiting it. Even just the studio worth more than the ticket price! the scenes are really superb mirror of the original film sets. This place has also a parking with plenty of space for visitors (it is not for free). Chaplin’s world has also a cafe which looks good (but we didn’t try it, so I have no idea about the quality of food 🙈) If you are visiting this place, Charlie and Oono Chaplin’s cemetery are in another place near the museum. It is 15 20 minutes walk from Charlie’s world (and just 4 minutes with car). It is a normal Graveyard but it worth visiting!(It has no entry fees)

Great museum with a suprise at the end. Did not know much about the man apart from the Elephant and Castle where he was born. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in that area of Switzerland.

Brilliant experience to understand the man that was Charlie Chaplin. He spent the last 25 years of his life in this beautiful mansion and the love, the passion, the craft is all so wonderfully created making you feel that Charlie is almost with you in showing a glimpse of his life. There is ample parking space available and there is also a bus stop right across the place. Please be prepared for crowds on weekends but it's not really a bother. Come to Chaplin's world expecting a lot of humour and leave with that and some emotion as well. Must visit.

Last residence of the great Charlie Chaplin after he was unfairly forced to leave the United States of America during the McCarthy Era. Great museum containing lots of real artifacts and tons of information about the man, his movies, and the impact he had on the entertainment industry. Highly recommend a visit!

Before visiting I had a very limited view of Chaplin’s life. The tour was a great eye opener. It was great to see and feel the world and house he was part of. The Einstein room was so intriguing for those who don’t understand physics behind it it will feel like magic.

Very pleasant experience. The staff is great, the place is very clean, organised and the exhibition is wonderful. Truly a glimpse of Charlie’s life and his family. The tickets are pricey 29 CHF for an adult

This is where Chaplin spent the last 25 years of his extraordinary life, speaks volumes about the family life of the legendary artist. A fantastic museum and one of it's kind which is worth the visit for every penny you pay. Be it kids or adults, everyone would love to visit here again. The location and infrastructure are already incredibly beautiful. You follow a path through a "studio" where between videos, wax figures of different stars in addition to Chaplin, requisites of the movies, descriptions and more, you get a detailed and fun overview about the life and the work of Charlie Chaplin. Adult tickets are priced 27 CHF and if you've got a Riviera pass, you'll get 50% off.

Sensationell! Immer wieder gerne!

It brings me back my childhood memories of watching Charlie Chaplin. The place where he lived and the studio where he shot those movies. It was a good visit and he has a beautiful house that you can around the estate which has a beautiful view too. Must visit if you are touring around Vevey.

We got our tickets online. We had discounts because it was holiday season. Had a wonderful experience. Got to know the life of Charlie Chaplin and most of all, his life in Switzerland. We had a nice surprise after watching the short film at the studio.

The best 2.5 hours spent in vevey. This place has unseen footage of the lives of Chaplin and his family. The manor boasts a beautiful wax collection of actors and celebrities he interacted with. A must place to visit.

This museum is a delight! It expertly navigates Chaplin's legacy, culminating in a grand finale: a tour through Chaplin's manor, offering glimpses into his private life. The grounds are stunning, offering picturesque views. The museum itself is refreshingly modern, striking a balance that stays true to Chaplin's spirit of making the experience enjoyable without overwhelming visitors.

An absolutely wonderful testament to the genius of Charlie Chaplin. Our family had a wonderful time going through and experiencing the home, the grounds, the studio, and the gift shop, all in that order. A must visit for any Chaplin fan.

Amazing experience, Chaplin's World exceeded my expectations. Worth visiting, but get ready to spend a few hours to properly enjoy Chaplin's house, the garden and the studio. Highly recommended if you are visiting Geneva, Lausanne or Montreux. There is also a shop so you can buy beautiful souvenirs as a memory of your visit.

I’m not a Chaplin fans but I would still recommend this museum if you’re nearby.. I think the entrance fee is worth the price… The visitation will consist visit to his former house , the park outside of his house and as well as the studio which consists of classic Charlie Chaplin scenes . Tons of photography opportunities in the studio… Do allocate at least 2 hours for the visit ..

A wonderfully emotive experience, both for long time fans of the artist and the man like me, and for those with no prior knowledge of Chaplin (my daughters). The manoir is presented in beautifully evocative style, which provides a good idea of how it would have been when Chaplin spent his final years there. The studio, tour and incredible artefacts (original costumes, Oscars etc.) cannot fail to be fascinating, to anyone with even a passing interest in film history or the arts. The only slight disappointment - a missed opportunity with some of the detail, eg. the restaurant serves general fare, rather than perhaps offer some snacks preferred by the great man himself. And the gift shop has a good collection of books, DVD’s etc but nearly all are in French. Given that Chaplin famously never mastered the language despite his many talents, the availability of a good selection of books and movies in the language of the artist himself (and to be frank the reason for the museum being there) might have made more sense and offered broader appeal (we heard many American, Canadian and Australian accents just on the day we visited). Overall though, much more worthy of a visit than any other museum you are likely to find. An emotional tribute to one of the few true geniuses, and a lifelong itch now scratched. Smile 🙂

We finally made it to the chaplains world Halloween this year. We’ve been hearing great things about it and we went on a rainy day on the last weekend after Halloween. It is the perfect place to go as a family with young kids because it’s a lot of fun for them, and they get a few scares along the way. I highly recommend this activity for Halloween if you have young kids and are within a ca. 1 hr drive away from VEVEY. You do not need to enter the Chaplin’s museum to see the Halloween display.

Beautiful mansion. we explored the museum during the night hours. It was a special tour arranged for us. No queues, had a personal guide who was more than happy to share the intricate details of Chaplin life. Over all a very well guided tour. One time visit is must.

Oh my! I had no idea how amazing the narrative was about the life of Charlie Chaplain! If you’re ever in Montreux, make it a point to go! There is a self-guided museum with so much of his films and then you see his home where you can see more personal films of him and his family, and his gorgeous home.

Interesting place to visit. Tickets were bit expensive I would say, basically as everything in Switzerland, but it was a very informative, pleasant place to go. I didn't know Chaplin had 11 children 😉

I was suggested by my auntie to visit this museum. I knew a bit about Charlie Chaplin but I learned a lot more about while visiting his house. It's really nice to see things that belonged to him and learn about his life and family. It's a small museum but if you take the time to read and watch all the videos, you can easily spend 2-3 hours in there. The backyard is also part of the visit but there's not much to see so better spend more time inside the house and the studio. I would recommend it to anyone!

🇨🇭🇨🇭 What a beautiful place to visit... When in Vevy, make sure you pass by Charlie Chaplins museum you will be pleasantly surprised. Its is filled with history, art and love for the artist. It portaise his life's work in his own home and the studio that is built right next to it. I have posted a few pics; the rest should be viewed in person. There is a lovely restaurant and a gift shop that is filled with great souvenirs for yourself or gifts! I highly recommend visiting this place for people who know him or wants to be inspired ❤ Follow @a_swiss_life on Instagram for more pictures and videos

Awesome experience at the Chaplin World. Price is chf 29 for adults tickets but it really worth every penny. There is a studio, which brings you to a short film and followed up by physical studio concept wax figures. There is also a Chaplin house with all the history about him and a nice park.

A museum based on the art of Charlie Chaplin, we loved it... except for the price. Already parking costs 5 euros. One adult entry and two children and presto, we have more than 77 Swiss francs! !

This is the formal place of Charlie Chaplin, become museum for visitors. There is car parking on site. There is a restaurant. And souvenir shop which I didn’t find anything interesting to buy, in my opinion. The garden is nice to take a walk around. And I recommend to read about Charlie Chaplin before visit the site at least.

Excellent little museum. Not so small in fact. We spent like 3 hours there. You really have the feeling of spending time with Charlie Chaplin and his family. The house and the park are gorgeous. Collectibles and photos are plenty. Write ups are very smartly done. Never too long. We were surprised by the scope of the museum and how much was spent, especially for the studio part. We had sandwich, cake and drinks at the cafe, which was quite good as well. It may appeal less to those who don’t know the man though. For kids they made the visit as entertaining as it can be. For adults it makes you want to read more on Chaplin, his works and his family.
