Really glad we were able to book at this Onsen. They are all private cabins so it’s a good option for people with tattoos. The area overlooks a really beautiful river. A lot of trees for privacy. The price was surprisingly cheap. 3800 yen for 1 hour. The water comes from natural hot springs and was the perfect temperature if you enjoy really hot tubs. Two different tubs were included in our space. The wooden tub was really unique and relaxing. They have options to buy drinks for the room too. They only take cash and speak very limited English. Thankfully we were able to use a translation app to communicate. A perfect setting to relax in the mountains.

Private onsen that is 3800 yen an hour. Comes with luxurious tatami room with shower and private toilet, with two separate tubs at different temperatures to switch between. Draft beer and and canned chu his for very reasonable prices, hardly any more expensive than a vending machine Literally across the river from the livemax resort via a suspension bridge. Well mantained and manicured grounds with view of the river complete the experience. I havd not been to a better onsen yet

Very relaxing! While out of the way from Central Nikko, this onsen offers private open air bathing at great price! For about 6,000 yen ($52) you can stay for 2 hours. Though the longer you stay the cheaper it gets. I believe 7 hours was around 11,000 yen ($100) Your money stretches pretty far here, your private onsen gets you two baths. One stone one that under the sunshine and one wooden one that's covered by a roof. Food is not included here, but your welcome to bring anything you'd like and there is a mini fridge in each room. The only real issue is that it's not entirely clear where you are supposed to go after parking. Just follow the dim lights (very charming and romantic) lighting the path. And after about 3 minutes of walking you will find the entrance.

Loved this hidden gem and would’ve gone every day of my trip if I could’ve. The private little huts are perfect for anyone shy, with tattoos or just wanting more of a relaxing experience vs a public onsen. The huts are much larger than I expected and have everything you need, towels, hairdryer, sitting space and a fridge if you want to bring your own drinks. It was difficult to make a reservation online as I don’t read/write/speak Japanese but once we arrived it was perfect. They could use some more signage though with directions once you get to the parking lot.

Beautiful facility, you get a little cabin to yourself with two little baths outside overlooking the river. Moody lighting when walking through the forest to get there… gorgeous. However, it’s not so private. There’s a road bridge across the river where you can be seen, at least when there’s no leaves on the trees. Would be far more enjoyable and relaxing if they attempted to put up more barriers to protect privacy.

This is a really nice private Onsen hot-spring to either take your partner or family to. Be aware, however, that the bath temperature drops to lukewarm in the winter, which isn't really the best experience. You get a warmed up cottage for private use, with outdoor private baths. Lots of wooden furniture and a nice view on the mountains and forests. You have to reserve in prior and need to pay by time reserved and used. The prices are steep, and the experience can be below expectations when there are families with kids using nearby cottages. Try to find a time that's uncommon and either in spring, summer or fall/autumn.

A hidden gem. The best onsen experience I've ever had. Walking down those steps down to those little cabins made me feel like I was entering a different world. Then relaxing in the nice warm waters lifted any stress or tension I had. Truly a unique and amazing experience.

Beautiful onsen. Very private experience. 2 outdoor baths per hut. Such a nice way to relax. Highly recommended.

A great place with lots of private onsen. You get your own room with fridge and kettle and towels. Overlooks the river but trees give privacy. Not obvious to find as is just a gate at the car park. No hot water in the tap in the room, which was disappointing as the husband wanted a shave, so had to use cold. There’s a toilet and armchairs in the room which makes for a nice area. We booked again for a rainy day and intend to have a little spa break. Would be great if they supplied yukatas. Lovely place a great experience.

Private onsen with a nice atmosphere and wonderful onsen service. We went here twice and the 2nd time opted for a 90 minutes service to be able to fully enjoy the experience. The changing room is spacious with a warm welcoming atmosphere and the outdoor onsen is top-notch. The surrounding and leading to the onsen view is also beautiful, especially at night. The owner was also super friendly and accommodating.

Be sure to make a reservation in advance! It was wonderful. The room was clean and water felt so amazing. The view of the river was great.

The place was as beautiful as advertised. It was a bit far from the nearest bus stop (10-15 mins walking), but the views were nice. We only had bit of problem bringing luggage down to the front desk (stone path). The room was nice, clean and had a lot of trees covering the outdoor baths. There weren't vending machines for drinks, so either bring your own or buy from the front desk. Would definitely recommend, especially for people with tattoos.
