Visited in October 2020 (after the lockdown) Can't believe the most popular gyoza place in a city famed for its gyoza is located in a basement beneath a department store. Basically one stop place to get various types of gyoza. Took a long time for the turn due to the dinner crowd, locals and visitors alike. Ordered Hanezuki Gyoza ("winged gyoza"), which is gyoza that is fused together by the crispy batter (the "wing"). Quite good gyoza, not too greasy, crispy with fresh and savory filling of cabbage and ground pork. Washed the meal with local beer that is said to be tailored to be consumed with the fatty gyoza, although it made me perplexed what makes it really special to be paired that way. Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty good beer.

Expect to wait a long time. Generally the shops inside are cash only or AU pay. Staff is friendly and easygoing considering how packed it is all the time. The reservation system with Line account maybe difficult for tourists. But quality Gyoza from 5 of the most well known shops in Utsunomiya.

Utsunomiya is known for their gyoza. This underground food court features five of the city’s top(?) gyoza places so you can try each of their delicious menus. Beware of eating too much bc that can sooo easily happen at this yummy establishment.

We did not have enough time to hop around to the various gyoza shops during our trip, so we opted to go here instead. In the basement of Don Quixote, you can buy gyoza from the five most popular shops in Utsunomiya. There are various paid parking lots around the area. If you want to sit and eat in, I highly recommend making a reservation online in advance. There was a 3 hour wait to dine in when we visited, but you could get take-out in about 15 minutes. Keep in mind that some of the shops only allow take-out with certain items or you must order at least two items. My favorite gyoza was the MenMen shop. Also be wary of the sauces if you do not care for spice.

Beat place for gyoAt. It's a bit of a wait and very worth it.i highly recommend getting the gyoza bear which pairs great with the food. It's only sold at this shop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Nice concept, you can try best gyozas from different restaurants, just 2 pieces probably enough. But. Nobody knows about omotenashi, guests who arrived later received their order before me, seems, because they ordered some drinks. Very old building and poor interior.

It's a cool place to try all kind of different gyoza. I will conduct 2 stars though. First of its of course not as delicious as in the real shops and it's a little bit more expensive. But nevertheless a nice shop to find the gyoza you like

'Kirasse' is a speciality Gyoza foodcourt where you can try some of the most delicious gyoza dumplings in Japan from 5 local Utsunomiya gyoza stores. The photo is the tasty Negi Shio Gyoza 380 yen!

Famous of all. They have special menu for each day of week, we were there on sunday. We had all types of Gyoza (momo’s) on menu. Delicious and reasonable price too.

It is a restaurant that offers gyoza from 36 famous gyoza makers in town, in two plates. So you can taste different recipes of delicious gyoza. Very recommended. It is better to go there not on weekends because of the long queue.

Well guess what? There is! Located in the basement of Mega Donki Hote, Kirasse features gyoza shops from Utsunomiya's prominent gyoza makers. You can try gyoza from each different shop, with a variety of different types. The staff are incredibly friendly, and helpful. The gyoza themselves were delicious. If you find yourself in Utsunomiya with a craving for gyoza, do yourself a favour and stop in here.

Fun to try so many types of Gyoza! Definitely get the supreme variety, it was SO good. Did not like the plexiglass divider that they kept on our table even though we were a party of 4.
