Incredibly disappointed in the patient care here; everyone from the front desk staff to the nurses to the doctor acted like they’d rather be anywhere else. I recently relocated from Virginia where I was a patient at OrthoVirginia so I was pleasantly surprised to learn there was an OrthoCarolina when I needed my shoulder looked at. Unfortunately, this office is not even remotely on the same level as OrthoVirginia where I’ve only ever received top notch care. By contrast, the staff at OrthoCarolina is dismissive, borderline rude, and terribly unorganized. We’ll start with the nursing staff who, despite not taking any vitals or my weight or height, along with not asking me any questions, put a note in MyChart for me to follow up with my primary care doctor regarding weight loss and obesity. For the record, I’m 5’9, hourglass shaped with a flat stomach so not exactly someone you would just glance at and make a note about obesity. Then there’s the front desk staff who are just always so clueless and unorganized. They scheduled my shoulder MRI to take place in some random machine but because my shoulder needed to be at an angle and the travel machine was smaller than normal, my shoulders didn’t fit which meant both the MRI and the follow up appointment had to be rescheduled. No apologies; they just noted that one in every five MRIs that is scheduled for the travel machine has to be rescheduled. WTH??? It’s so unprofessional. Plus, for some reason, you can’t fill out your own paperwork. Instead you’re forced to stand there verbally giving all of your personal info to the receptionist. Again, so unprofessional. Lastly, there’s Dr. Hillsgrove. I’ve never seen anyone less interested in a patient in my life. It doesn’t bother me that he’s consistently late to appointments but the cold, disinterested bedside manner is truly awful. I’m new in town and trying to figure out what’s wrong but he acted like I was bothering him. Every attempt at friendliness or lightening the atmosphere was ignored. I’ve honestly never had such a bad experience in a doctors office. I’m from the DC area so I’m used to busy doctors and folks who get straight to the point but these folks are rude. I don’t know what the issue is here but I refuse to use them for physical therapy or ever go back there again. Spare yourself the inconvenience and just find another orthopedic specialist.

Got what I went for but there was no follow up, doctor had no interaction. I received my shots then he left out. It was not the personal experience I am used to getting. Will definitely try another location.

I appreciate how much Dr. Sykes cares so much about each of his patients. He properly prepared me for my hip replacement surgery by telling me how This Surgery is much tougher than most people think, and the steps I needed to accomplish before any surgery could take place. My surgery went very well and Dr. Sykes was AMAZINGLY ATTENTIVE TO MY CARE!!! I COULD NOT HAVE WISHED FOR A KINDER, Most Capable, Brilliant SURGEON. HIS ABILITIES ARE VAST AND ALL PERFORMED WITH TENDER CARE. I Never Once Doubted His Work, Advice, Choices or Ability to Get Me Well Again! I WILL only want Dr. Sykes as My Orthopedic Surgeon in the future!!! I just Love Dr. Sykes!!!

Dr k Stanley is a wonderful doctor he goes over my choices. And helps me make the best one for me.

Brianna McShea, PA put us at ease with her calm demeanor and confidence. She took the time to answer all of our questions. She gave us a good game plan, and we were thrilled with the service she provided.

Dr. Van Sikes was extremely informative. Reviewed my xrays & explained in detail what the next steps could be and all options were my decisions. He wasn't pushy at all about having surgery. He was compassionate & listened attentively. I am currently waiting to schedule my surgery date.

I'm disappointed. Dr Kevin Stanley ignored my shoulder pain concerns and solely focused on anxiety being a driving factor. I'm sure he's a good doctor otherwise but I was disappointed with my experience.

Great place for medical care. I have been coming here for several years now & have always been impressed with the level of care I have received. My Latest problem was a knee replacement. I am still recovering but the knee is getting better. Dr. McDonald did a great job replacing the knee, now it’s just a matter of rehabbing through exercises, which is my job. So far so good. Would not hesitate to have the other knee done if necessary

If you’re overweight, avoid! Save yourself time & money and look elsewhere. My experience with Dr. Van Sikes was terrible. I was told to go lose weight and not much else. I would have like some suggestions on stretching & exercises, anything to help with the pain. He was professional but no help beyond “lose weight.” The remaining staff was was kind & helpful and my experience is not a reflection of all physicians at OrthoCarolina. So if your in pain, seeking help but overweight, look elsewhere.

Absolutely amazing place. The staff was extremely helpful and caring to my very scared little girl. PA. Mcshae was Soo kind and caring she was straight to the point and informative. Highly recommend their office.

Brianna McShea, PA, offered superior healthcare. Additionally, Patricia Dortch was quite possibly the best receptionist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Both women are incredible assets to OrthoCarolina.

The Ortho staff were nice and courteous. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room or the room in the back. Dr. Hillsgrove was very nice and did a great job of explaining my medical condition.

I visited OrthoCarolina on two separate occasions. Both times were pleasant. Staff was nice and the office was very clean. Dr. Bachabi was great. He took the time to show me my x-rays both times and explain them to me. I would definitely refer family and friends to OrthoCarolina.

The staff from the front desk and check out to the nursing staff or very pleasant and professional. A doctor was excellent in explaining my physical situation and the treatment for my visit.

Dr. Rodney Stanley gave me a very thorough examination of my torn rotator cuff. He answered all my questions. I felt that his time was my time. He was very professional, yet was quite personable. I feel confident with him performing my up coming surgery. I have had several friends and acquaintances with shoulder issues highly recommend him.

Amazing practice from top to bottom. Friendly customer support and service. Dr K Stanley is awesome with providing an explanation of procedures. He connects with his clients. I have had an outstanding experience thus far!

Great experience overall. Dr. Stanley was a pleasure. Easy to talk to, very friendly and attentive. The women at the front desk don't appear very friendly; no eye contact or warm welcome, but aside from that, good experience.

After seeing four Doctors and $1,100 later I still have no answers. Only told to go see another Dr.. All Dr. R Bowser, W Thomas, and C Sikes did was fill my hands, take X-rays, try giving me a prescription and send me to the next Dr. They even lied on their notes saying we discussed things to add and take away from my diet to help. What a waste of time and money.

Very organized and professional office. Dr. R Stanley was thorough and communicated well so I underatood my problem and the steps and time it will take to heal. Great visit.

Been here twice. Both times we waited well over an hour past our appointment time. If you decide to come here, be prepared to spend the day...we are sitting in a room at 3:20 PM with no doctor yet, appointment was for 2:15 PM.

Found a different Orthopedics office that could perform my MRI at a lower cost, so I asked OrthoCarolina to transfer the order. It has now been weeks and the order has still not been sent to the other office. The latest update I received from OrthoCarolina said that my request occurred 1 week later than it actually did, so it looks like I will have to keep waiting even more. It feels like I am being punished for seeking a more cost effective option and it's at the expensive of my shoulder...

Dr. Rodney Stanley is an awesome Orthopedic doctor n surgeon. OrthoCarolina is a great clinic to care for all your Ortho needs.

Dr. Sikes performed the surgery on my torn meniscus, saw me throughout my initial recovery, and was still there 6 months later to help again to make my workouts easier with a steroid/lidocaine injection, so I can continue to build back my muscle strength and get back to my goal fitness level. He has been patient, kind, understanding, realistic, comprehensible, and helpful.

Dr Kevin Stanley is the best otrthopedic doctor in the USA. He replaced both my knees and did a superb job. Came out of surgery with NO PAIN. Was up and moving around immediately. He’s the best.

My experience with ONC. has been stellar. The staff both professional and friendly. Drs.Hilksgrove and specialist surgeon Dr Sykes competent caring and thorough. I had broken my left knee and previously had much trauma to it and botched surgeries by others. They met the challenge and now it's been four years success!. Praise The Lord for gifted ..skilled and experienced physicians. Highly 🙌

Was able to get appointment within four days. Explained my problems to Dr. Hillsgrove, he recommended the medication he thought would help my problem and I'm on my way to drug store to get meds in no time. Very thorough and knowledgeable doctor. I give doctor and staff a 5.5!

Front staff very friendly and helpful. Xray lady also very nice. Dr. Sikes (spelling?) has a nice bedside manner, i felt he was listening to me and was patient as I asked him questions. I went in for knee pain , which turned out, via xray, to be arthritis. We discussed getting an injection and agreed on how to proceed. Least painful injection I've ever had! Will definitely return if necessary!!
