Great place to stay. The rooms are simply amazing compared to 5 star hotels you get on the galle face beach. This place is easily accessible. The beach is just a three minute walk from your room. Big pool. Food and drinks isn't at the top but is fairly acceptable. Service and staff if quick and friendly. Good and sufficient parking spaces. Generators are available. This place is very aesthetic to the eye and overall just a great place to get away.

This is a hotel that's been there for ages and is pretty much iconic. They have parking available on the road and you have to pay a fee to park there. The rooms are a bit dated, but they are clean. The breakfast buffet was reasonable for the price we paid. Overall, I had a good experience here.

If you aren’t after a super flashy spot but still want to be comfortable this is great. The pool area outside is the highlight and a great space to chill. The breakfast buffet is pretty good but maybe a bit pricey, and the people serving are awesome. The rooms are pretty basic, a little bit tired in spots but our AC was solid as and we were very comfortable. It was a great place to explore columbo from and there are plenty of good spots to eat around that are walking distance, including along the beach which you can access from the hotel. For what we paid we were really happy.

We were at the hotel for 2 days for a conference. The staff was super friendly and helpful for us to organize the event at their venue. They have their own beachside restaurant as well as a pool area. Food was really good and they had a great service and they accommodate all our team around 80+ people in a very well manner. Rooms were really good and comfortable. Highly recommend this for anyone who’s interested to enjoy a stay in Mt. Lavinia.

Housekeeping steals. Room cleaners also steal in this hotel. Keep your belongings locked at any time for special money. Even if you complain about this theft, then you will not get any reply from there. say we see we will ask.air condition is just for name cooling nothing.If you are giving clothes to be washed, then count that too, clothes are also stolen here. You will not get back the clothes you have given.If you complain at the reception, then they also do not make any difference. Will say sorry to you, we will talk, nothing will happen after that. The next day a letter will come to you. It will be written in it, sorry sir!If you order food here, then you have to order food at least half an hour in advance. It may take half an hour and whatever food comes, open food will come. Putting it in a plate and there is no test in it.

We enjoyed the hospitality of Berjaya. The service levels were excellent. They were always courteous and friendly. The food was fabulous with attention to all guests requirements. The hotel provides easy access to beautiful sandy beaches and breathtaking sundowns. Their beach restaurant offer awesome seafood. An ideal place to relax and unwind with family and friends. I would highly recommend Berjaya Colombo.

The hotel is absolutely underrated. It qualifies for a 4 star hotel because of it's amenities. The pool is large and super clean. Staff is well trained and always on toes for making customers happy with their services. Food quality and quantity is commendable. Private beach is clean and very much accessible. It was not good enough. Water in the pool was not clean. Water was shady and green in color. And there were insects in the pool, which were biting people. They haven't changed water in a while and filters were not on. Food were not great either. It was fine but not at the expected level. We ordered an egg rice and they provided us a plate of rice with and egg mixed. There were no even one piece carrot or leeks 😂. And there were too many people in the hotel the day I visited. And they did not have enough facilities and space for the crowd. At the beging they told us that we could have 10% discount if our total bill exceeds 5000/=. But we did not receive it, as they told us that we bought beer from outside. (They said there's no corkage chages, but didn't say the later part) staff was good. They tried to provide a good servuce. But overall it is not what we expected.

We had a two day conference here last week. Service - Starting from the hotel management, people were very friendly, they even helped us with very small small things just when we asked. Food - Quality 5*s for the price. Then even provided us with an English breakfast without even requesting it. Rooms - Comfortable. We had a really good sleep thanks to the luxury here, even though we were very tired during the both days. Location - They have a restaurant in beach side, in addition to their hotel. It was nice for doing activities, games etc.

It is a lovely heavenly experience to get up in the morning, open your eyes and see the the spectacular ocean views through your room's window!. The hotel is one of the best in Mount Lavinia beach. Though an old hotel, it is well maintained. Services are friendly. Staff are humble and eager to help; so for foreigners, the language will not be a problem. Restaurant's foods are good; the manager and staff serve the guests in smiling face, that is the best part of it.

Only attend there for a beach party ⛱ . Location is good.sometimes unwanted people (sellers) wants to do businesses but the hotel has done their best to avoid them.👍👍👍 Bites and drinks 🍸 it is good 👍👍 .Their Service also good. But for a dinner menu dont order Kottu, and vegetarian menu (fried mushroom and fried vegetables - (fried too much.) for the buffet it is bad. WARNING: This is a COVID-19 dedicated hospital now. We booked this hotel for two weeks - March 2022 and saw today a review on google reviews about this and asked a family member in Sri-Lanka to call the SL number provided by the hotel and the hotel confirmed it is a dedicated hotel for Covid-19 patients. We did not receive any updates from the hotel about this. Nothing is posted on the website. It's a good thing someone reviewed the hotel 2 weeks ago.

Excellent experience! Frankly speaking when we booked this hotel the reviews scared us.. they weren’t very good about their services. But once we went there- Service was absolutely on par! Breakfast excellent! They even added food to the menu which we liked! Room service great! Our rooms were spick & span when we came back everyday! The staff were very friendly & welcoming!!! They even provided us their banquet hall & all the services. The pool was well maintained and they have a baby pool too. The sea was just outside with a hop skip and jump on the bridge over the railway tracks!! Truly it’s a perfect budget friendly vacationing resort!! I highly recommend it to all!

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. Really nice. Loved the swimming pool and the food was amazing. But best of all was their beach bar called Wadiya. The manager Warren is possibly the nicest man in Sri Lanka and made us feel so welcome. So much so we spent all our evenings with him at beach bar, rather than in the hotel! Highly recommend this hotel, and especially their Wadiya beach bar. Will definitely be back!

They treat SL so cheap. As if we are staying for free. We had a conference we almost booked 80% of rooms. Still they didn't give a good service. Food- Horible, same desert over and over two nights i stayed. Nights they had only rice n some BBQ, they dont refill unless you request. Staff- Never smile or greet you in morning, You ask for something they say ok n never come back, i had to go finding ro get qhat i want and stay till the person finish the work to bring what i wanyed. Rooms - Old used sheets, had to request to change, no bath towel, no bath matg,no soap, no shampoo, no water bottles. had to keep on asking one at a time.

We go there for a swim on and off. The pool area can use some maintenance. Haven't really used the rooms but the entrance/walkway to use the pool area is confusing. We usually walk through a banquet hall onto the garden area and it's always awkward to watch people look confused. My only suggestion for now is 》 maintenance. The location is good, just the property that lacks maintenance ..

Like the location best. My stay was 3 weeks at this hotel and did not see any change in the service, was always superb. The hotel is old but the service is fantastic. The food is ok. Ms. Nishara the hostess was very helpful. Room service was so so…The front desk was very helpful. Ms Kouchi was very sweet and helpful.

I don't know for some reason, we were given rooms in the old block, everything looked old but all were working. The room had a balcony and was overseeing the private beach owned by Berjaya and also a beautiful pool. Since it was raining throughout the day and the evening, we couldn't utilise those. The check in process was smooth and the bell boy helped to keep our things in the room. We didn't dine there. The beautiful part of this was ours was interconnected rooms as we had asked for one, we were 4 and took 2 rooms, they were connected, the housekeeping team happily opened it for us and we were very very happy about that. Berjaya group is a big group of hoteliers hence trust them and stay there. It had a working kettle and coffee tea facilities were possible.

I vacationed for 3 weeks in Berjaya hotel Colombo. The room was very comfortable, spacious with all amenities. The restaurant service was outstanding with dedicated staff such as Leo (F&B Manager) & Nishara (stewardess). If I come again to Sri Lanka I will choose the same hotel.

A harrowing stay that lasted less than 15 minutes and resulted in us checking out. The staff was prompt at check in and we were assigned Room 111. The room had fungus and mold on walls, the furniture, and on the main door. (Photos included) We were quickly shifted to another room - room 113 - and that room had a cockroach infestation in the cupboard and bathroom. All this came to our attention as soon as we entered both rooms. We checked out immediately and the front desk, with their behaviour, left a lot to be desired. Additionally, they don’t check/clean rooms before assigning it to you. A shocking experience overall.

Staff was nice and friendly. They were accommodating. There were just instance during our stay when we had a quick swim in the pool, we got to have several follow up for a towel. Rooms were just too old for me.

Not bad. Hotel is pretty old, but the location in Mount Lavinia is nice, nice view of morning trains and the beach from hotel balcony. Staff were a bit strange, they are young and inexperienced, didn’t seem very happy. A good breakfast buffet and a good spot near the beach makes up for everything though - I’d come back if I was coming back to Mt Lavinia.

Cheaters, all of them are cheaters!!! They charge you for food items which are not even delivered to the room and when you ask for refund they make all sorts of excuses for not giving the refund. Absolutely frustrating if you have a checkout before 7 am. No one in the hotel will come to collect your luggage from the room, you will have to drag it all to the reception by yourself. The guy at the reception doesn't have a clue why is he there. Overall, not at all recommended and worst of the worst experience. Of all the hotels in visited in Sri Lanka, this one had the most helpless people ever seen. For any small thing, it gets routed through so many channels with no resolution. I am still awaiting a refund of Rs. 500 from the hotel. Hence, only if you want to give away money for free, then come to this hotel. There is nothing special about this hotel. Old infrastructure, damp walls, nothing to be happy about here.

In general it's a bad hotel the rooms are old The staff were nice except for one staff at the pool bar a young man named Jamrak with long curly hair , he literally doesn't give customers their change back , I found behavior disgusting and wrong. Tip is not by force especially when you have aggressive attitude towards guests.

The worst hotel experience i have ever had. The hotel rooms are so dated that they look like they have not been restored since ages. The whole hotel had a very strange smell. I felt claustrophobic walking through the lobby. The rooms are not in good condition. The furniture is either broken or washed out. The restrooms are way too old and there are ants everywhere. The sheets seem to be unwashed and dirty. The food is not that great but the staff were friendly and polite

Superb service from your hotel guys & the location is also pretty looking. If you can increase the standard in rooms will be much appreciated. I met a great guy (Lio Roshan) in your hotel and he treated us in a very polite way. As same paid his attention on us during the period that we spent in your premises. I'm here for my quarantine, if you plan to quarantine with Hemas here. Free wifi TV but with very limited channels AC and Small refrigerator is available, I'm sure you don't need that in quarantine You need to clean the room, and utensils given to you Food is ???, can't smell or taste anything so no idea, they will keep foods outside the door Near the beach so you will hear the crows all the time, gets too noisy sometimes Room have electronics with bright lights very bright lights, specially the wifi router. Tape it with something👍. Medical staffs will visit you twice to check oxygen level You will be given phone numbers of nurse and doctor in case of emergency Electric kettle is given and we need to make tea

The Hotel is good location wise, it is near the beach, so the access to it is very easy, the staff is courteous, the rooms are pretty normal for a four star hotel. There is train track just next to the hotel, so bear with the noise. The pool is great and breakfast had a nice spread to it also. I tried chicken burger which was good. My thoughts are the rooms should be maintained properly for the asking price per night. Other wise the staff is very help full.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. They clearly don't maintain the property very well. Broken tiles and doors. The hallway on our floor was very dark, they only put on a couple lights even though that is a very long hallway. Rooms were not clean and there were strange smells in certain areas of the hotel. We also found a cockroach in one of the rooms we had. Would not recommend!!

Google Review # 000144. Stayed here for 2 days during visit to Colombo city. Must say. that this was the best choice of hotel in the overall 12-days trip to SL. The hotel serves proper Indian Veg food, which my family was missing for almost 2 weeks! Rooms were good and clean. Housekeeping was good and so was the buffet breakfast. The USP of this location that you have a pool situated next to live train track (with privacy, of course) and the track runs along the beach! The beach is connected to the hotel with a over-bridge, running over the railway tracks. The hotel has a proper resting, change and shower arrangement made on the beach... So, we first enjoyed the beach, then came to the swimming pool and then back to our rooms..... Wow! Worth the amount DEFINITELY that we spent here. Date of Experience : March 2019.

Berjaya at mount lavinia is a great hotel to enjoy your vacation. It's next to the beach and you can see the sunset, beautiful view from your room. It's a very beautiful sight to see. We were there for two weeks. Everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was great. Mr. Leo and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Hopefully we'll be able to see them next year. We had a quality time during our corporate event held recently at Berjaya Hotel. Venue arrangements, foods and all the other facilities provided by the hotel were upto our standards and highly appreciate the support provided by the hotel staff. Specially, Mr. Nadun Moragoda - Assistant Manager, Sales was really helpful from the beginning. He is a friendly person with whom we could easily communicate all our requirements and he made sure that everything is happening in the way we wanted. Front office staff including Poornika, Angi and others were also keen and attentive and it was really easy to work with them all. Restaurant manager Leo provided us with delicious dishes and should also mention Erandi, who was providing a very good service during the event. Overall, I am very satisfied with the hotel staff, facilities and their friendly service and highly recommend Berjaya Hotel for corporate events!

If you are from Europe and the US, your job is to give them dollars only. You get only water on your full board package(and nobody will informyouaboutthat). For other drinks, you have to pay extra for diluted juices. Food is eatable but very spicy and local. There are no options for children ( or you can pay extra than they will make you something), and food also very repetitive and limited. At 6 pm you have to leave the pool and even if you are still in the water they start putting chlorine in to the water they don't give a f..... about you (only about yours dollars). If there are locals in the pool, they can stay( no chlorine treatment), but the pool is closed for tourists. If you are planning to stay there. Don't book meals at a hotel. You can get better deals outside. Drinks at local shops much cheaper and not diluted. The hotel itself is in a nice location , however, it needs modernisation. Staff like everywhere around this world, some of them are nice and friendly and some of them are not.
