This place is awesome. Although not big, it creates a cozy and warm feeling, and the owner is very nice, friendly and welcoming. We ordered a bunch of dishes and various alcohol. The non-fish dishes weren’t bad (sausages and karagge), but their real highlights are fish dishes. Sashimi platter, squid ajiho and the grill fish were heavenly delicious. The owner was thoughtful and placed Japanese and English labels for each sashimi and sake, which was very convenient for non-Japanese speakers. We liked this place very much and would recommend it to every visitor to Kyoto. The only thing that needs to be kept in mind is that the English menu seems to be a bit limited as they have more stuff than on the menu. Also, it seems like a family-run business, so their schedule is not a straightforward “closes every Tuesday” type. You can check out their schedule for the whole month at the store though.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Was shocked that we were the only customers. Had some nice sake and shochu with some sashimi and rice. The fish was soooo fresh and the staff were very friendly!
