Very good buying experience, high quality products, plenty of options, seller took time to show us different sizes and patterns we liked, and also gave us time and space to discuss and decide. Not too pushy, but after some negotiation we arrived to a price that we were all content with. I can only recommend it!

Coin Berbere had so many handmade rugs to choice from. Abdoul truly wanted us to find the rug of our dreams. He was knowledgeable and made sure the rugs were tightly packed so we can travel home with them. We are so grateful to bring a piece of Morocco home.

The tone was set immediately at the outset, when we were offered mint tea, which was delicious. We were shown a fabulous abundant selection of rugs in the style we were looking for. Abdul knew immediately what we had in mind. He showed us the difference between natural dye and synthetic dye. He explained why fringe is only on one end, because the tribal women make them to be able to hang if you choose. We arrived at a price we were comfortable with after some negotiating, but definitely not high-pressure. Was a nice experience and we would definitely recommend buying a rug from Abdul at Coin Berbere.

A rug purchase is no small thing. My partner and I were glad to be allowed the space and time to discuss upon bargaining, since it can be a stressful decision as it is. You can notice this shop’s different approach even as you walk by, since no one actively pulls you into the shop. We returned to Coin Berbere later to request another bag for separating the two rugs previously wrapped together, and were given a few more bags plus extra tape, which was much appreciated. The rugs are of artisanal quality and there was a large selection available between the family’s shop cluster.

For anyone looking to buy one of the beautiful handmade rugs of Fes, would definitely recommend this shop. We were a bit intimidated by the prices of the rugs in other shops and the bargaining process, but the experience at this shop was fun and fair! We were shown a large variety of rugs, many sizes available, with very reasonable prices. Bargaining is a must in Fes but was upbeat and amicable at this shop without pressure to buy. Absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a Berber rug!

One of our goals for our first Morocco trip was to find a Berber rug or two. We had browsed a few shops in Marrakesh but didn’t find a store or rug that we liked. When we walked into Coin Berbere in Fes it immediately felt right, with a wide selection and with the two brothers who own the shop who were friendly, informative and not pushy. We found two perfect rugs at a fair price and we can’t wait to get them!

Coin Berber in Fes has a wide variety of very nice carpets. I ended up negotiating with the owners over a carpet and we both were happy with my purchase. They shipped the carpet as promised and it arrived in the US within a week of shipping. I see my Coin Berber carpet daily and it makes me smile. The best carpet boutique in Fez! The owner is very kind and professional, but the most important thing is the price of the carpets: super good, super convenient prices! It was a pleasure negotiate the price and buy two incredibly beautiful original berbere carpets.

Abdul and his associate showed us literally hundreds of options of varying price points, willingly showed us the difference between synthetic and natural wools and dyes. Give any feedback you want and Abdul can find an option that better suits your tastes. If we were intimidated by the price, he’d show us options starting at lower prices, alternative sizes, etc. You will need to bargain hard for your choices, but Abdul is quite fair and will listen to your offers. We left paying what we thought our rugs were worth, but we also never felt pressured or guilted into accepting a price. Abdul is a good salesman and I would definitely return if I’m ever in Fes! It was a fun experience and we’re very happy with our purchases.
