Beautiful spot to walk and take in nature. Very well maintained grounds. Good variety of large trees and flowering plants in various gardens. Excellent rose garden. Lovely assortment of pines. The mansion and grounds are nice. There was some construction when we visited.

Easily accessible and great parking. Looks like a great program area for youth and community gardening. Some of the gardens needed a bit of attention and seem to besuffering the lack of rain. Roses were gorgeous today! This would be a beautiful spring bloom destination or fall color change walk. I hope to revisit at a different time.

It's a great, open area to just walk around, or settle in for a picnic. The terrain is largely flat, but the gravel paths weave around the property with some slopes/hills. There are beautiful landscapes surrounding the parking lots so for less mobile folks, it's still a beautiful spot to check out. Leaf peepers welcome.

Beautiful place to visit in Morristown. It is so peaceful to take a walk around this garden. I am sure all seasons here look great. They also conduct many events for kids in summer.

Updated review: My husband and I got married in the Knot Garden a few days ago and it was so perfect. I never imagined that such a beautiful place would be so simple and inexpensive to book for a wedding! This is just the place, whether you want a no-fuss ceremony like we did, or to book a larger event. Our guests loved the ambiance, as we got married just before sunset. So memorable and relaxed. Original review: I loved this spot, it’s so gorgeous. My only drawback was that as a wheelchair user, I would have appreciated some more helpful maps and signage indicating pathways and their coordinating accessibility levels. We definitely turned the wrong way at one point and ended up on a pretty rough path! We got through okay, but had I been a more elderly or fragile wheelchair user, it could have gotten dicey quickly. Otherwise, the gardens and forest were lovely. We’re really looking forward to coming back to picnic throughout the summer.

A beautiful place to spend a few hours. The grounds are magnificent. It is also very shady which makes it a great spot for a hot day. I could’ve spent hours in the rose garden. Very stroller friendly. The bathrooms could use a good scrubbing.

The greens, great lawn and the huge mansion… this place is suitable for visiting for a day break to take walk and roam around. Lot of hidden trails for walking and benches setup in many places. Also the rose garden and variety of other flowers are planted. It is really a nice place to spent some time and capture really good pictures.

Enjoyed a lovely walk on the grounds mostly on paved pathways in a little bit on well-maintained gravel. Beautiful flowers, a variety of trees, and even a fern garden which is unique! What a lovely place to spend some time close to Morristown.

I absolutely love this place !! I can get lost in time walking the grounds. There are many benches in all different areas. I've found 2 different Gazebos so far. The plants and flowers are gorgeous and well cared for. Everything has the name posted so you know what it is. There is also a small vegetable/ herb garden to walk through. I could go on and on. I love this escape from the rush of life to enjoy nature.

Amazing little place. Lot of flora to enjoy. Good parking lot, spacious. Starting July, waiting for the plant scvanger hunt, a family event. Visited the place where the plant grows without soil. Probably that is what the future will be, If everyone deserts Earth to move to Mars.

This has the old home which has limited viewing times, but the garden behind the house and toward a gazebo is beautiful. There are trails leading down the hill on the property. I explored only this one which had an old white oak and at the end of the trail a rock labyrinth on the ground. I will return to explore the rest of the trails on a subsequent visit.

Beautiful place for photography. • Friendly hikers/walkers. • Great place to bring your kids to walk trails. • Amazing verity of trees and flowers. Was able to collect a bunch of different fallen leaves from different trees. • Hold different types of events... There's a Winter/Christmas event where you can come look at the different decorates trees— $10/person. If you want to decorate (I was told by an employee) to contact The Frelinghuysen Arboretum around August.

We traveled a few hours out of our way expecting to see lots of gardens. We did not get to see a lot of flowers mostly because we got there in the late afternoon but it was really nice to spend some time walking and bonding. It wasn't too hot and there were plenty of tall trees for shade and benches to sit. I can see myself definitely getting lost walking there but if I lived closer I'd definitely love to picnic and read a book there. The only other thing that would make it perfect in my eyes is bodies of water, like ponds or waterfalls.

Absolutely lovely local park. Walkable paths, Colonial Era buildings on the estate. Event hosting opportunities. Very nice and camping setting.

Excellent place to spend a few hours and see plants and get some ideas. Wonder if they could self support by selling small rooted cuttings??

By far my favorite park in the area. I go to the arboretum almost every week or anytime that I want to be in nature. The park is very well maintained with beautiful flowers and plant life thoughtfully planted and grown. I like to think of it as a gem of Morristown

Lovely array of all types of flowers, ferns, trees, and ground covers! The back rose garden is amazing! There are plenty of shady spots to sit and take in all the beauty of the estate.
