It is located on the main road. Parking is reasonably easy as it is a residential area primarily albeit the streets are narrow. It is a book shop in the front with a cafe and bar in the back which is accessible through the book shop. Seating available inside for 33 people and outside for 29 people. The bar opens in the evenings. Service is quite good and staff are friendly. Coffee is pretty good as they source their beans from Toby's Estate. Food is decent as well.

Such a beautiful place. A relaxing calm environment. If you love books and coffee you must visit. The food was really great too and decently priced city wise... I particularly loved seeing their beloved cat Charlie roam around. Will definitely come back again.

The most stunning, calming, beautiful old bookstore/cafe. Whenever I enter it I am instantly relaxed and immersed in the world of all the old books. Delicious drinks and a kind cat makes the whole experience even better.

Incredible place! The bookstore is welcoming, the staff are so nice, the cafe is excellent (love the chai), the bar is such a lovely atmosphere, the share plates are divine! They even have a cat! Truly can't recommend enough if you're in the area, looking for a book, cuppa, drink or place to relax.

Tuesday nights at Sappho Books, Cafe & Bar they hold an open mic for performers, be it music, poetry and/or anything resembling a ‘performance’. Just turn up half an hour before show time and put your name down. Usually you will get a spot, however occasionally the performers can outdo the spots so it’s first come first served. Friendly and warm environment with staff who are chilled out to the max and eager to give everyone the opportunity to perform. Bar food and a substantial restaurant style food. Prices are within reason and the bar serves the usual suspects at regulated prices. Great outdoor seating under the stars with trees and sparkling Christmas lights to set the arty mood. Small space that provides the vibe of a tight knit artistic orientated patrons. Fun evening and very easy to access from downtown Sydney. Regular bus service to and from downtown. Great place for a first date! Charming and smooth as glass.

Such a nice energy here. Quiet atmosphere with chilled music, even on a Saturday I expected it to be more chaotic. I got the vegan and gf falafal wrap which arrived quickly and tasted beautiful ♥️

Loved the CAT. I admire how this business turned this place to become a multipurpose environment, consisting a café, bookstore and bar. I did feel like I was going to fall backwards when going upstairs to browse the bookshelves and visit the ADORABLE CAT peacefully napping on a chair. The staff at the front desk was friendly as I had to awkwardly ring the bell a couple times but other than that it is a great place to purchase second hand books and records.

Beautiful cafe/bookstore. Very tasty chai latte. Stepping inside feels like getting away from Sydney for a little while.

This place has a lot of potential. I love the concept of a bookstore at the front and a cafe/bar behind with part of it in natural light, the teas, etc. It's a real vibe for sure. My friend who was into books found some really unique books for his collection. The food is also quite nice with a regular menu as well as a vegan menu with a few dishes I'd love to try. I had the falafel wrap and the sparkling tea. The wrap was yummy, the tea was average and probably nothing I'd want again. The reason this place only gets 3/5 is because of the staff. They aren't helpful or friendly and they have a lot of attitude. From the way my friend was told not to touch the cat to the help (or lack there of) I got when I asked where the water was located or options to decide between on the menu. The venue is also not very child or pram friendly. The male owner was, but not the rest of the staff.

Wow, love this little hidden gem! Variety of options on the menu and a greet vibe in the courtyard. Mr cat was an added bonus!

I really loved this place, the books, the coffee, the breakfast, the cat... And I've been buying books (and breaky) there for years now. But lately, the service staff have been standoffish. I don't know what's changed but it's like we're not cool enough for Sapphos anymore so move along? And I did and I was pleasantly surprised at the options next door.

One of my favourite places in Sydney! Great range of books, fab menu (and vegan menu!), great drinks and friendly staff. Would recommend for individuals and small groups!

The books! The food! Everything was to die for! The cosy, 3 level trendy cafe is my new favourite place!
