I had an amazing stay at the Balkanarama Hostel. The air-conditioned rooms were very clean and comfortable and allowed me to take a break from the heat of Mostar when I needed it. The rooftop terrace/bar (with some if the cheapest drinks in the city) was a great place to relax and hangout with other guests in the cooler evenings. Also, the view from the terrace was one of the best in Mostar. The staff was very friendly and engaging, and they even offer tours to different historical and natural wonders in the surrounding area for a small price. I would highly recommend Balkanarama Hostel for anyone travelling to Mostar looking for a fun, relaxing, adventurous, and alternative time.

I stayed here for two nights and couldn't have wished for a more welcoming and homely place. The free coffee was a welcome reprieve from a long journey and the stereo system playing jazz helped to ease my mind. Watching the sunset from the rooftop terrace solidified it to perfection and the volunteers who were nice, talkative and accommodating made us stay an extra night. The fact that it has a book collection to peruse further elevated my spirits since I was out of reading material. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem.

I am super happy I decided to stay at Balkanarama. The staff here are mainly locals and were very welcoming. The location is perfect-the hostel is situated back from loud street noises but no more than a 5 minute walk to the river, old bridge/old town and the cafes and markets. The hostel puts on great tours around and outside Mostar that are full of local history, food and experiences. For example, eating your weight in Burek (a traditional meat pastry) followed by a swim in a waterfall and a walking tour of ancient villages. Super experience! So, I would totally recommend this hostel and would stay here again if I ever found myself back in Mostar.

Really amazing hostel, Helena and Alex made our visit so much more fun. I had a wonderful time hanging out on the rooftop playing games and just chilling. The location of this hostel is also perfect and really close to the centre of the city. If you are in Mostar I highly recommend this hostel 👌🏻

Ironically my friend and I ended up here thanks to the error of a local taxi company even though we were booked at another accommodation. The rest is history. The location, atmosphere, amenities and hospitality of the lovely Veca and Helena convinced us in about 20 minutes flat that we had found our home for the next 48 hours. On top of everything else the local tour given to us by Veca the next day and the friendship of the rest of their crew reinforced that we had made the right decision. The rooms are comfortably appointed, the kitchen has anything you need and the rooftop terrace offers stunning views of the surrounding area. I can't say enough about this venue and would recommend it to anyone looking for a local experience in the Mostar old quarter area. Thanks again to everyone who made our trip such a success.

Balknarama hostel is in an ideal setting in the center of Mostar but in a quiet laneway. Picturesque scenery surrounds the hostal. The rooms are very clean and well air conditioned so I slept really well despite the crazy heat outside! They offer a variety of tours in Mostar and surrounding areas which are the highlight of Balkanarama hostel! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Cheap drinks are available in the beautiful roof top terrace bar.

Amazing cozy place in the middle of everything in the town. There is a terrace with an awesome view! City sights and mountains. Some distance to Old Town, like 10 min slow walk. Nice friendly staff who showed us around and led for a bar hopping. Definately would recommend!

Had a great time at the Balkanarama Hostel, run by a lovely group of people. Great setting in the Old part of town. Beautiful views from the roof top bar! Definitely recommend staying at this place!
