Stopped here to view the property and gardens which were beautiful. Well maintained area that you're free to wander. Ample carparking nearby. Close to many facilities. Lots of greenery.

Very upset by poor staff service. I took my partner out for coffee and cake for their birthday and ordered one of the coffees to be decaf. When they came out the staff didn’t know which one was decaf, which I really needed so she took it back. I then waited 20 mins with no sign of my coffee. My partner finished their coffee and cake and I had to eat mine without coffee. It was clear it was never going to come, despite trying to catch the staff’s attention so I went back to the counter and asked, stating it had been 20 mins and we’d finished our desserts etc. I was then told they’d indeed forgotten but that there was a large table to be served ahead of me and it might be another 15-20mins!!! They should have not only apologized and made mine straight away but also have refunded my purchase. We were so appalled we left, having paid without my coffee and more than a bad taste in our mouths. Staff really need some urgent training.

Amazing setting….attentive service person!! Two out of three meals awesome….unfortunately Beef Schnitzel with Pepper Sauce was over cooked - resulting in a very dry, crispy schnitzel

Terrible experience... Spent the whole night trying to swat flys off our table and food in the dining room. The kitchen was full of flys. I spoke to management about it and I was advised that there was nothing they could do. Spent over $150 for an hour and a half of flys all over us. This place is run by pigs. Pathetic and disgusting... thanks for ruining our night out....

My family and I had a great morning tea on our way to Monarto Safari Park. The service was excellent, so was the food. Beautiful views all around.

We had our sons 21st here and I was absolutely blown away by how helpful and kind the staff were, in addition to all their communication and advice and ...well everything!! We had a great night and everything flowed so smoothly and that wouldn't have happened without the experience and professionalism of the amazing staff. I honestly can't truly express just how impressed I was with everything.

Attended the Oak & Iron Tavern for the first time for a birthday lunch on Saturday 20/08/22. This is a great bistro with a lovely outlook. Very generous serves so good value for money. I was very impressed that all meals for the 6 of us were all served at the same time so no-one left waiting for a meal. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating especially with my elderly Mum. I was also pleased to see that the layout of the venue was accommodating for wheelchair access as in enough space to allow access.

I love this place for how lovely inside it is. The staff are generally very good. Unfortunately food is very hit and miss. I've never had an awful meal but have had quite a few mediocre ones.

Went for the outdoor cinema with wife and son, via the gold pass. Overall a really good experience. Not sure if the kitchen was backed up for pizzas, but ours took longer than we expected to arrive. Bean bags chairs were good for all three of us. Very accommodating for bringing your own picnic hampers and the like, and also had drink vans on site (as well as access to the main bar with gold pass). Son loved it, we will definitely do again. This is a family affair, those without kids will have to watch for what's playing

Went to the Oak & Iron for the first time tonight. Friendly and engaging staff and great spaces for a meal. We started with the Mezze Tasting board which turned out to be a great option. Lots of options for a diverse group. Good selection of wines and coffee was great too

Very advrage would describe our experience. My partner ordered a chicken caesar salad for $29 the chicken tasted like it was deglazed with white wine and the salad was extremely dry thus all you could taste was the wine. There was no care put into the salad at all and it tasted as such, the egg was a cold slop, we barely ate quartet of it. we spoke to the waitress that collected our plates and she said she would pass it along to the chef. We waited for a while longer but there was no offer of money back or anything. Upon walking out we spoke to the manager who gave us some free cake which was appreciated. But by his attitude you could tell that he thought we were lying and trying to either cause trouble or get a free meal which was not the case. We just wanted a simple meal on a nice night. Yes we got free cake but that's not the point it's a salad and expensive at that. there was apologie or care and walked out disappointed and hungry definitely won't be back We gave 3 stars but as we were "compensated" but Very disappointing for such a beautiful location and its history

I love the exterior styling of the House. It's magnificently designed and the restoration work was fabulous. I dined in the Tavern, I found the staff to be friendly, polite, courteous and professional. I am look forward to be doing a tour of the House and dining in the Tavern in the future.

Usually great food with great service...sadly this time food was not the best. Meat dried out and tough. Diane sauce was not good at all. Flavours all wrong. But not their usual standard..

I generally like having some meat in my beef schnitzel. Response to the owner’s reply: I told the waiter collecting our plates. She said she will tell the chefs. As if they didn’t know what sort of meals they ship. Anyway… I didn’t waste time talking to someone higher up as I don’t plan to have that experience again. I suppose staff passed it along. If not, bad communication and/or process on the floor is not my problem. Also, asking a question in a reply to a review, where people don’t have a direct way to give you the answer, is slightly annoying. Have a good day.

Went there last Saturday 2nd of December for lunch. Waited for a couple of minutes to be seen too for a table. Waiters and service staff pretty average. Didn't feel welcomed at all. Asked when delivering our garlic bread if we wanted a side plate. Well of course. The table water was terrible. Not even filtered. Straight out of the tap. Would I hurry back. Not in this lifetime. Overall, pretty much below average to what I expected from the Tavern.

We had our wedding over the weekend at the beautiful Auchendarroch House. Michelle was so fantastic to work with and you can tell the team puts so much love and care into every detail of your special day. The food was amazing and we had so many compliments throughout the day of how beautiful it all was. 1000% recommend.

Auchendarroch House is an iconic venue in Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills. It is a beautiful historic building that has been modernised inside. There is plenty of onsite parking and a cinema complex next door. Auchendarroch house itself has 2 restaurants and spacious seating. The staff are always top-notch and the quality of food has always been excellent despite several changes over the years.

One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. A lovely open and modern space to share a meal with friends. We will definitely return for pizza again 😁

We had my Mum's 80th birthday event at Auchendarroch house last weekend. We were so happy with how the room was set up; everything looked fantastic and everything we needed was on hand. The service staff Max, Amy and Hasini were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us, communicating about everything and so approachable with any questions we had on the day. My Mum had an amazing day and feedback from guests about food, including reasonable pricing for bistro meals and a good range of gluten free options, was positive. The guests had space to mingle, as well as dine and the room leads straight onto beautiful gardens and a lawn area that helped keep the kids there happy. Thanks for everything, in particular Michelle Berry, functions manager at Auchendarroch, who was approachable and made everything happen from the very first phone call.

Rude and sarcastic! Not pram/mum friendly. Not accomodating at all. Unnecessary rudeness! A group of my mum friends with prams have been going here for brunch for several weeks now. We booked it for the first 3 weeks that we were going there, and were placed in their dining area for coffee cakes and toasties etc. at 10.30am as there’s more space in the dining area. We’d told them about the prams. There’s always been others in the dining area at 10.30 also just having brunch/cake. It was a great spot to catch up as there were sometimes 6/7 of us and we needed room for several prams and Monday’s are relatively quiet in there. Also we have no babies making a mess as they’re not eating out yet. We stopped booking in advance by week 3/4 because they were never busy at 10.30 so there was no need. Even when we were there slightly past 12 and lunch had started, there have always been multiple empty tables so we were not preventing them from seating anyone. For some reason this has suddenly become a major problem for them and they’ve become very rude and unhelpful. It started last week. Last week they told me we’d need to squash in to the cafe area at the front because they didn’t want to have to reset the tables for lunch. I pointed out the prams would not fit and asked to sit where we normally do. She grudgingly let us have a regular table in the dining area but was not happy about it as she’d have 30 seconds of extra work to do. This week another of our group got there first. This time a staff member insisted we sit in the cafe area despite us explaining that’s hard for prams and could we sit where we usually do. Her colleague said she’d been there for years and had “never heard of us being allowed to sit in the dining area”. We must have been lying, she insinuated. But there were others sitting in the dining area having just coffee? What was their problem with us? She said it’s too hard to reset the tables for lunch!? One of them also asked my friend sarcastically “Don’t you know that there is a new top gun movie out !!?” I’m not sure what that’s got to do with anything because it’s been out for several weeks now! Their lunch tables have never been full on a Monday brunch/lunch anyway the whole time we’d been going! This week, they would only let us sit at an awkward round table away from the dining tables. This was useless for prams. Meanwhile we proceeded to watch all the people come in for lunch. At no point were all the seats taken. Not even close! We felt so uncomfortable. It was not a nice experience. If you need a business to be accommodating to your needs, go somewhere else! They’ll just make you feel uncomfortable and like you’re putting them out! Apparently the “hassle” of resetting a table is not worth our business. Pathetic!

Went for lunch today with my dad & son, excellent friendly service and the food was great! Taking my pram in with my 2 month old was no hassle. No complaints, will be back again soon!

Staff friendly, service is lacking "bit slow" when clearing your table. staff seem to be just walking around, no staff structure to who does what. pizza was not that nice seem to be made on a pre purchase pizza from the shops eg mccain's frozen pizza. gnocchi carbonara was a delight. overall was a nice night and dinner

Loved the atmosphere of the tavern. Service appeared excellent we waited a long time for our soup only to have it come with our main courses. Soup was spicy sweet potatoe. My husband and I like some spicy but this was to the extreme. Looked lovely but could only eat a bit. Waited a long time for our coffee but 3 times I had to ask for our pre ordered sweets but still waited well over 30 minutes. Disappointing after a nice start.
