I love Carls but the burgers always arrive cold. Chips are nice and hot, still crispy but burgers… not sure why they’re unable to keep them warm!?

Appalling. We visited the Mt Barker, South Australia store. I politely asked the attendant if the Veggie Star was soy or veggie based. To which she replied that "the veggie burgers are made of a meat alternative to taste just like meat". I then said "Yes, but are they soy or veggie based?". She simply shrugged and said "I don't know".... That was it! There was no offer to go find out, no niceties, no nothing. I should add that there was noone else in store, so it wasn't like she was rushed off her feet. My partner then ordered 2 burgers and a large fries. This was awkward in itself, because the burgers were of a limited time varity, and displayed on a changing menu board, so the attendant wasn't sure what he was talking about. But we got there in the end. When the order came, the chips were extremely sparse. I took the chips back and asked "is this small handful normal for a large chips?". The attendant abruptly said she'll get the manager. The manager then said (quite antagonisticly) that "they don't squeeze their packets" (whatever that means) and then proceeded to shake out the pack to show me. To which I said "regardless of whether you squeeze the packet or not, it doesn't change the quantity does it?". Anyway, after angst from him and genuine politeness from me, the chips were refunded (thankyou). I then went outside and was informed by my partner that the burgers were completely different burgers to what he asked for. By this time, I simply couldn't be bothered dealing with the impolite angst of the staff. NEVER AGAIN!

Went here about 9 months ago and got food poisoning due to the burgers being served cold. Tried again on a whim today and burger is cold again. I didn't trust it, don't want to be throwing up for 3 days again! After a 10 minute wait in the drive thru, surely the burgers are being cooked fresh? How are you cooking/storing your meat patties Carl's Jr? Why are they always cold?

I used to give Carl's at Mount Barker five stars but the last few times going there has been disappointing. I love the idea of their American burgers and shakes but they're never upto scratch. The packaging is done well but the food is consistently served cold. The salad on the burgers is either too cold or maybe the meat isn't very hot but even eating the burger within a few minutes of it being served it's cold like it's just been taken out of the fridge. It's expensive and a waste of money now 😒 not even the tasty chilli cheese fries can hold it together. Also, the wait in the drive thru blows out often to well over 10 minutes and you can be the only one there... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Walked in and seen the bins where overflowing. The tables where not cleared after peope left. Ordered an our meal the chips felt like they just came out of the fridge cold then had to wait 10 min for new hot chips. The so called coke dosnt even tastes like coke. Seems everytime we visit the mount barker store there is a issue or a problem. Gave it 3 times to see if anything has changed. The answer was no. So definitely will not be going back there

If you can get past the 's' in Carl's Jr being in the wrong place, you'll be treated to the ultimate of guilty pleasures. The menu simple yet offers plenty of choice and the restaraunt offers unlimited refills on any soft drink purchases. If you've got any appetite left after your meals, finish off with a signature thickshake.

Great Burgers and Chicken Tenders, has the best BBQ sauce ever.... double check your takeaway bag though as sauce is often left out even when you order extra. Don't bother with the chips, normal are soggy and waffle fries you only get like 3 per order

Have been meaning to go to a Carl Jnrs for a while now. Finally got to come today and was not disappointed! Beautiful looking burgers and such large meals (ordered regular size) HUGE onion rings and just a great feed! Can't believe its fast food! Burgers looked amazing, were barely warm, but was super easy to eat! Chicken tenders, great! Can do with a little bit more seasoning, but great value (we got 10 for $10) Free Refills! Not many places do free refills anymore, so ill probably come back frequently because of it (seriously) Thanks for the great experience. We will be recommending this! Hope to see more pop up south of adelaide

Ordered and paid through their app online and provided an approximate pick up time. Arrived at prescribed time only for them to confirm payment and then enter the order again for prep in the kitchen. Now having to wait in store for an order that should have been ready for pick up. Currently 15 minutes and counting.

We sat in the drive bye for about 15 minutes now and still the car infront of us haven’t been served yet. All we ordered was 2 large chips

Delivery was late Food was cold Jack the so called manager lied about Delivery times. Our security cameras don't lie. Lied to me over the phone. He was rude and refused to provide a replacement meal as promised. I'd give them 0 stars if that was an option. Pretty poor Jack. Brush up on your customer service skills.

If you haven't had a burger from here you don't know what a real burger should taste like!! Bloody delicious and that's an understatement, go get one and you'll be surprised! Highly recommended by me and every one else that put me on to them, YUM.

The Carl & Big Carl aren't what they used to be. Barely get any classic sauce on it now and when you pay for extra you barely get what should've been on there to begin with. It's also thinned out and not as full flavoured as it used to be. Can barely taste it.

Great place for a burger... but who puts the lettuce on the bottom of a burger? First bite and everything slides off the bottom of the bun!!! However they are better than a McDs burger... Really good food .. THANKS 😊

The young man who served us lunch today was so pleasant, friendly and eager to help with my husbands red onion allergy. Great energy. Food side, the burgers were good but my bun was slightly burnt on the inside which left an after-taste.

The burgers are tastier here than at Maccas or Hungry Jacks and they are made fresh on the spot (unlike the two former outlets mentioned). I don't mind paying a little extra for better quality food. Coffee is good, the staff are friendly, and the premises is kept clean. It would be good if there were more toilets (only two) especially as the area accommodates the petrol station that sells food as well.

went to try for the first time the other day as we had never been (have heard great things) ordered a burger combo with loaded fries. had a 20 minute wait give or take a few, (was not very busy we were the only ones who had ordered) got back to the car and realised they forgot our fries ( was resolved quickly but still frustrating) food was very nice. came back today to see if our experience could be redeemed and ordered a burger with a tender combo. the wait was definitely a lot shorter but when our food arrived they forgot our cup for our drink, and forgot the sauce for the tenders. resolved the drink issue but in the end didn’t bother about the sauce. burger was nice but the tenders were served pretty cold. food was overall good but customer service could be improved

Moved to Mount Barker 1 year ago . Third time at this burger bar . Each time got worse . Our last visit was terrible . The chicken burger looked like it had been driven over by a truck . It was cold and dry and I’m thinking it had been sitting around all day . The meet burger was ok . Whilst eating all we could hear was the sound of the staff scrubbing the floors . No ambience and no music . We were there at 7 pm and no wonder in the 30 minutes we were there not 1 client came in . This burger bar needs a major shake up . And I should finish by saying the second time we went there was a similar experience. We then drove past the 2 other major burger bars and there was so many clients eating, ordering and the drive through was full . Maybe the owners of this burger bar needs to take a look . Won’t be going back. 3 strikes and out . Good luck

I come here every Saturday during my lunch break and get a California classic with a large drink. The staff are always amazing and the food has never been bad.

Not my first time to Carls Mt Barker, but definitely my last. Each time drive through service took 15 mins, one time they had no mayonnaise? Last night, a Friday, seemed like one person was taking orders and one lady just randomly cleaning windows while cars were piling up. The guy serving us couldn’t have cared less. Our large fries were half full and old & cold. Burgers were cold too. The coke tasted like it was half water and half fake coke. $35 down the drain.

Currently waiting in the drive through- it’s been over a 40 minute wait. There was only one car in front of us when we ordered. Usually great service and food, not so much this time!

Ordered food today and was in the drive thru line for over 25 minutes before I got my food. I asked what the hold up was (as never waited this long before) and was told that they had other customers and he closed window before I could reply. Not even apology for the wait.

Was delicious, got the Portobello mushroom Angus burger. Chips were great, still have the skins on them. Would recommend you grab a choc chip cookie too.

waited for 21 minutes spent $40, no apologies from any workers for the wait. smug look from the young lad behind counter when we had to go in to actually receive the food even though we were in drive through. it’s unbelievable, needs to improve. will not be back.

Ate at your fine chain of restaurants for the first time here. This team gave me the best fast food fries and with really good customer service. (I am very excited to have the biggest conversation hot take,, that Carl's jr. has the best fries)

Very slow service for quite overpriced food. Chips cold and lack flavour. We also felt unwell after eating food from the Mt Barker C's Jr. We will not try it again.

Very nice and friendly staff. Restaurant was nice and clean, service was fast and the food was awesome. I'll definitely be back.

Great burgers, extensive menu and pleasant staff

Only reviewing because I want management to improve its operation. I like the burgers but very long wait for burgers, minimum 10 mins. By the time it gets to you, it's cold but the chips are hot. So that means the burgers are done first and the chips cooked after. Something is going on here. Hopefully the operation improves.

Nearly 18 bucks for a medium meal, cold unsalted chips and the burger looks like it was put together by a blind man with crack withdrawals. This happened here before and I thought it might just be a bad night, won't go back again

This store issinking into the depths of slop food! Burgers cold and chewy, chips were a dark shade of brown, Carl’s jnr may need to think about changing the fryer oil a bit more often! Came in about 7:45 on a friday night took them about 30mins to get our meal. Food Magically appeared after i asked for a refund. We won’t b back

Ordered the chicken BLT via drive-thru. Chicken was really hard and inedible, even hard to cut with a knife! Called for a refund, originally was told they only did vouchers or replacement, as refunds were too hard. Was eventually told I could get a refund, but it would take a few weeks to process after 'approvals'. Crazy! Cheeseburger was good though.

I have to say in the last 6 or 8 months I have really noticed that the quality is not the same. Which is really annoying because the prices are fairly high as far as takeaway goes. The prices being charged can be justified if quality is on point. Currently I'm not feelin' it. Wait times in the drive thru are a little bit long. Which isn't the end of the world. But when the food isn't warm..

Thought I’d stop in for a feed before I catch the bus back to Adelaide. Had to walk out because they were having a really hard time making that one burger and I almost missed my bus. Fast food isn’t very fast around these parts.

Love this place. I feel as far as fast food/burger bars go, these guys don't get the recognition like the other less premium players such as Hungry Jacks or McDonalds. Rwcommend giving them a try.

I go here quite a bit as I work in the Homemakers centre. I have had a great run and haven't really had an issue. Food and staff are usually always great but the other day I ordered a famous star meal which was advertised on the menu screens for$13.55 and they charged me $14.05. I questioned it and the guy behind the counter said "oh yea the screens have been updated and it's different in the computer...I think he actually meant it was the other way around. 🤔 any way I said it should be$13.55 because that's what you have advertised it as but no he wouldn't change the price but proceeded and still charged me $14.05. I know it's only 50 cents but I guess it's the principal of charging what is advertised.
