Decently sized wetlands, great spot for a walk alongside the water. Plenty of greenery, picnic areas, restrooms. Home to many waterbirds. Opportunities for photography in many spots. Benches scattered throughout for resting or taking it in. Popular spot.

Always a pleasant walk. We have been visiting these wetlands for years. The trees and shrubs matured and now look like they been here forever. Whoever is doing the upkeep they are doing an excellent job. The bird population changes season to season and year on year. A couple of years ago when there was a widespread dust storm the outback ducks discovered Laratinga and they are maintaining their presence ever since. I have just posted photos of Australian Shoveler. Pink eared ducks are around the water treatment ponds, you can see them through the fence. There are some interesting vagrants every time we visit. This weekend it was the Blue billed duck, photo posted. Chestnut and Grey teals seem to be residents. Clamorous read warblers were out in the open posing for photos. I am looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely, relaxing place for a reconnecting-with-nature stroll. Very busy, at all hours. Some great photo opportunities, especially birds and ducks. Blue Wrens are particularly common.

Laratinga is an excellent place to take a walk or sit and contemplate with nature at its best. The Mt Barker council are to be commended for creating such wonderfully peaceful environment.

Beautiful wetlands, easy walking trail, stacks of birds even in winter. Great place to spend an hour just watching the ducks and fairy wrens playing. Even saw the Australian Crake.

A beautiful yet small nature reserve on the edge of Mt Barker. The walking tracks are all flat and perfect for a light jog or slow bike ride with the kids. There are plenty of opportunities for photographers to take some nice shots of the local bird population. Dogs are welcome so long as they stay on a lead. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos to share as I use the wet lands as a nice place to jog.

Amazing walks among nature. All paths are well developed and extremely flat. Full loop takes about 30 minutes but there are cut through paths to make it shorter if need.

Laratinga is my go to for a walk in the Adelaide Hills - dog friendly and many others to pass by and wave to. It is an easy trail to walk as it's flat and wide. It attaches to park runs and another path to follow which means you can do a short or long loop!

Gorgeous place for a walk and a little bird watching. great use of water/wastewater treatment. Lovely picnic area with bbq, grass, shelter, toilets. I would love to see some more interpretive materials about the freshwater ecology of this area and the people who used to live here. I would love to see more wetlands everywhere! There was a coffee van in the car park at one stage - anyone know where it went?

Beautiful serene walks of varying lengths. Great BBQ facilities. The wetlands is part of a linear park track that takes you from Adelaide Rd Mt Barker to new sports grounds further east toward the actual summit.
