I have been shopping at Mt Barker Coles for over 20 years. However they have recently decided to 'improve customer service ' by putting in self serve checkouts. I do not believe that this does anything except increase profits for a $$ hungry supermarket chain. It does not help with 1. Parents with children 2. The elderly 3. Handicapped 4. Busy people 5. People paying by cash 6. Infrequent shoppers with little experience on using self serve. So..... that leaves about 10% of shoppers with SOME idea of what to do, AND the expected patience of waiting for those that don't! Good luck with retaining your long term loyal customers Coles. I, for one, am off to Woolworths. Even their online shopping is so much better & easier to pick up than yours. Shocking customer 'service'. Seriously, wake up!

Kian ‘the milk guy’ created a wholesome experience while purchasing milk. He directed me in the right direction and recommended his favourite milk. Sadly I think he has moved on from the company. Take note from Kian.

No one in this store is keen to help, worse customer service ever seen. Even one of his workers told me, "don't tell anyone but if you really need something better go woollies". None of his workes know where to find whatever you need.

I rang up to put in a complaint about a misleading price on an item. Spoke to one of the many managers. She was very rood. I didn't appreciate getting talked to like that. Definitely lost a customer. I will go elsewhere

Where do i start - less than 1 sec "power glitch" and payment system won't accept digital cards - told no idea how long before workimg again and to use cash ( who carries over a $100 in cash these days) or swipe physical card - who carries this when digital card accepted everywhere??? Had to do a 40min return trip home to retrieve card - only to be told that all payment methods ate now working again........ you'd think a big company like coles would have a sufficiently suitable power fall-back systems in place in this day and time - or is actually spending money such that customers (no longer) aren't inconvenienced too much to ask?

Waiting for service at register for over 20minutes. Team members calling priority one with no one coming to help. Service at the register was great. Too many self serve, not enough service for the people. Shelves at present always empty.

The cost of groceries has risen dramatically, and the quantity of staff has continued to decrease. There were no manned checkouts open, and they have numerous staff standing around "supervising". The supermarkets are making records profits and expect customers, to serve themselves to make more profit. This is a regular occurrence at Mt Barker Coles, hence why I've changed supermarkets.

I have been shopping at Coles for years and have consistently had a positive experience. The store is always well-stocked with a wide range of products, including fresh produce, meats, dairy, and household essentials. The staff at Coles have always been friendly and helpful, and they go above and beyond to ensure that customers have a pleasant shopping experience. Whether I need to grab a few items on my way home from work or do a full weekly grocery shop, Coles is my go-to store. They offer great deals and discounts, and I always find everything I need at competitive prices. I highly recommend Coles for all of your shopping needs.

Ridiculous in self-serve checkout registers all of them cards, 1 for cash. Diversity managers please not all of us have cards handy cash is still a standard option

Virtually all checkouts are self serve now, even the conveyor belt checkouts. If you are going to make us do this portion of work for you, how about we get 5% off the total bill. Never returning.

I'm so disappointed with coles mt barker. I normally shop at foodland but my grandkids are collecting Harry Potter cards and I've now shopped there for last 4 weeks expecting to collect some cards for them 😪 I've probably spent close to $1,000 on groceries and still haven't received a card. Very disappointing 😞

Awesome customer service today from Kira and Karen at Coles Mt Barker with my soda stream enquiry. Proves that's it's always worth asking a question. Thank you ladies, much appreciated.

Good one Coles, you obviously didn't check out the demographic, as an aging population we do not use self serve. My neighbours and I will now shop elsewhere. Makes me wonder how many staff were laid off to do this.

Has to be the worst shop in all of SA. No open registers, staff can be rude when asking for a checkout to be opened. Left my groceries and walked out. Will never shop there again.

I do not mind when a supermarket impliments some self service checkouts, but at Coles Mount Barker tonight I saw they were all self service except for the express checkout. I think this is terrible customer service, if I have a big load of groceries, and spending good money in the store, the least Coles can do is employ some people to serve their customers. You have lost a customer Coles. Bring back some more people running some checkouts.

Great fruit and veg. great bakery. But people left in long line ups to check out they tried to force people through self service. No care given to older people.

I have to say that the checkout staff and staff in general at Mt Barker SA Coles are so lovely. Every person I have asked questions of, or attending at checkout are polite, helpful and wiling to do what they do well. I have found that to be consistent over a long period of time. The lovely lady who served me today at about 6pm was so careful in packing my shopping bags. And fast and efficient too. She said she packs "as if it were her own groceries" to ensure nothing is squashed in transit. Success there too. Thank you for giving excellent personal service. That is important to me!! Well done. ⭐⭐⭐

It’s brilliant how Coles Mt Barker shuts at 11pm every night and the wide range of food they sell for people on special diets is fabulous.

I like their free range pork products and it's small display of fresh seafood. Wise to display small portions of seafood with backup near by refrigerated.

Was the QR code at the front entrance to apply for a job? Because everytime I shop at Coles Mount Barker, I seem to be serving myself... When is pay day?
