Just go... Buy food .. eat it... I ordered way more food than I can eat just because I wanted to try it. I ordered some voodoo fingers, or fried catfish with a nice dipping sauce oh my goodness. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese. This was really spicy nicely in the roux they used to make this. for the most part I eat any mac and cheese, but this is special. I'm often not happy with red beans and rice (because boring), but I really enjoyed these a lot. Just the right amount of sausage. Just the right amount of spices; yummy. My favorite might have been the shrimp and crawfish etouffee, well, ignoring the voodoo fingers mentioned above. The jambalaya was good well done It is really difficult, in my opinion, to make a very moist cornbread. Well, their cornbread is perfect. I considered taking a bunch back with me. No I didn't finish all the food I bought, everything was so well done I just had to try the bread pudding with some ice cream on it. Wow seriously good. Let's talk about the staff. They talked me through everything, they were so helpful. If I am ever in the area again, for sure I will stop in this food is amazing. I didn't really feel like anything was spicy, but, as my wife would point out, I think things are mild that other people think are spicy. So, maybe I missed it and something there was supposed to be spicy, but to me nothing was. They do however have some tasty hot sauces sitting on the table if you want to make them spicier than they come out. Oddly, I enjoyed the food so much I didn't even think to add the hot sauce. Imagine that, I didn't reach for hot sauce when I had it available I was enjoying my food so much. So one more time, do not miss this place. You need to come and try their food. Just go buy food and eat it

Our new favorite creole place! Shrimp Gumbo is delicious! Fish & chips with hush puppies is fantastic! Bananas Foster was amazing and so was the brownie (and especially when combined)! Nice friendly staff. Only took about 10 minutes to fulfill our order. We highly recommend this place!

Incredible restaurant hidden in pretty downtown Mt.Clemens. Start with your choice of three separate eating areas under on roof. Add the couple that own this gem. They were so friendly with top notch service. Of course the food was top of the line authentic southern cooking. The New Orleans sampler gives you three tasty picks. Very relaxing vibe with great background music. Did you figure out yet I loved this place. One of the very best since I started my reviews. Make this your next destination if your a foodie or just want a great tasting quality meal.

Fabulous Watch Party at Gumbos tonight watching the Womens NCAA Basketball Sweet Sixteen. Tennesse vs Virginia Tech. Aunties4jazz hosted as Hometown player, Jasmine Powell (#15) Tennessee played her heart out. The Gumbos staff was exceptional. Joseph and Maddy served up the perfect blend of accommodation and CUSTOMER SERVICE. We couldn't have ask for anything better. Food was delicious and drinks were flowing. Kudos to Gumbos. Go check them out!

I took my significant other to Gumbo's for his birthday. Gumbo's I will be a returning customer. I can't wait to take my mom. The atmosphere was nice. They have 3 different sides of the restaurant you can choose to sit. It was my first time there so I chose the Mardi Gras side. The food come out on time, it was hot and delicious. I ordered the seafood platter, Mac n cheese, garlic green beans ( were my fav) and a bloody Mary. Their in house sweet tea will bring me back. The staff was great and helpful with knowing the menu.

This place is a downtown gem. The New Orleans theme, authentic dishes were great! Catfish Voodoo Fingers, Cajun Pasta, Gumbo and a couple other dishes I tried were AWESOME! The bar side is an awesome addition with a great, low key vibe. Staff has that traditional family owned and operated feel with their hospitality and friendly service! Thanks Gumbo’s for bringing a bit of NOLA to the Clem.!

I decided to stop in after an appointment I had in the area. I was with my husband and he is quite the picky eater. Gumbos didn't disappoint! We each ordered the "Pick 2." I ordered the roast beef sandwich and my husband the chicken, I ordered jambalaya and he gumbo. We both enjoyed our meal and our little one devoured the green beans with garlic butter. I indulged on some candied mashed yams as well and they were heavenly! I definitely will be stopping in again in the future. Service was great and the environment was very relaxed.

We went on a weekday and there wasn't anyone in there besides us. The server was also doing take outs, which basically means that girl is the only one in the building taking orders. I got some seasonal fall drink, which was REALLY good. And we got this trio of what was supposed to be gumbo, jambalaya, and etouffee. She didn't write it down, so gave us rice as part of the trio. One of three was REALLY good, but we're not sure which one it was. It had like a brown type broth. It was AMAZING. But the server also forgot our collard greens we ordered, never came back to check on us, and never refilled our waters/drinks But man id go back for that brown shrimp whatever it was just for that So their etouffee....I think that's what it's called, my boyfriend thinks it was gumbo but it's hard to say because she messed up the order so who knows. And then we noticed when the bill came that the prices were different than what was posted online.

Wow I loved it, the taste of the Food was more than I expected! The cornbread is very soft, fresh and really delicious. The special dish of the house is an explosion of flavors in my mouth, and it made me feel at home! A very pleasant, warm and beautiful atmosphere! We were with our babies and the attention was excellent, and we also appreciate the effort to understand each other because we don’t know much about the language yet. We’ll be back…

Food is amazing!! Drinks (beer) was super disappointing. They were out of the seasonal draft so we switched our order to a bottle to have it be outdated almost a year prior to our visit. Yikes. Service was alright although we received 1 out of our 3 meals wrong plate despite my server having me repeat our order 3 times. Despite drink options being underwhelming and Service being meh the food was fanatic. Next time we will be getting takeout!! Probably won't order in at this restaurant again.

Wish there was more consistency with the cook because apparently the fried catfish and macaroni & cheese seem to be hit or miss. Gumbo is straight but filled with too much non seafood meat and a little shrimp. This place has the potential to be great!

This place has great food! The service was great! Everyone in our dinner party loved the food there. If you haven't eaten there yet, you need to try it out!

I was vending at a two-day event in downtown Mount Clemens and needed a fast lunch. I happened upon Gumbo's on my first afternoon and stepped in and spoke with the waiter about the menu. At his suggestion, I ordered the Catfish Fingers appetizer and french fries to go. The catfish was amazingly good! So good, in fact, I ordered it for dinner on day two of the event. The fries, however, were too spicy for me. 🙃 I gave them to the vendor at the booth beside me, though, and she loved them.

I LOVE Gumbos!, Excellent friendly service, VERY clean, every dish I’ve tried here is simply AMAZING. Take time to prepare and serve but WELL WORTH the wait. I’d much rather have FRESH than fast any day.

WORST JAMBALAYA IVE EVER EATEN.....NOW LETS TAKE IT FROM THE TOP. 1ST TIME GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT AND THE SERVER BOUGHT US DRINKS AND FORGOT WE WERE THERE. MY WIFE HAD TO GO FIND HER THEN PLACE OUR ORDER. THE JAMBALAYA TASTED LIKE CELERY AND BOXED RICE MIX, THE CUBANO IF THATS WHAT U WANNA CALL IT, HAD JERKEY AND NO HAM. THIS WAS THE WORST FOOD IVE EATEN IN 2023, IVE EATEN MEALS OUT OF THE TRASH THAT TASTE BETTER. OVERALL THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS DINING EXPERIENCE WAS THE FREE MINT U GET AFTER YOUR MEAL. IF I HAD TO RATE THE FOOD ID GIVE IT A STRONG .1 OUT OF TEN. STAY AWAY IF U DONT WANNA PUKE.

Lovely lady at the counter gave my boyfriend and I a moment to look at the menu and walk around the restaurant, as it was our first time! I mean from top to bottom, this place has something neat to look at. Yes I have been to New Orleans and yes it totally gives those vibes! It is huge in there too. I felt so comfortable and relaxed, the lighting is nice..some natural light coming in from the windows as well. The food all sounds amazing, only could choose two things though. Settled on the catfish fingers and the cajun pasta with sausage and shrimp. Catfish, not so great in my opinion...the fried ratio to fish was not good. The breading was not good. The sauce it comes with was not good. The pasta was like tasting my own, mmmm so perfect. Loved it. I can't wait to come back and try more things. Thank you!!!!

The food here is unbelievably good. The Voodoo Catfish appetizer has the perfect amount of kick. Everything on the menu is A+ and the price point is reasonable. I cannot say enough good things about Gumbo's.

Jambalaya was delicious. Tastes authentic N'awlins. Fun atmosphere. Talented musicians got some people up on their feet dancing. Owners were attentive and hustling.

Favorite spot in the Clem for my daughter & I to dine in when we are downtown shopping. The tastes remind us both of the foods we had together in New Orleans & enjoy the improvements the owners continually are making. Can now go watch a game at the bar they have added so will DEF be visiting more often.

You need to try this place!!! Food and service were amazing. My only complaint is they were out of some of the main dishes I wanted to try. I liked the rice and beans, Cajun pasta and catfish fingers the best so far

The best service by far! Our waitress (I wish I could remember her name, she had curly hair with really cool glasses) wsd on point, she answered all our questions. The food is AMAZING! Please get the catfish appetizer! The atmosphere was so warming. I didn't have time to post pics... I was eating too fast🤣🤣The drinks were also amazing. We will be back!!
