During our tour through Sri Lanka, we visited this authentic weaving mill. Here the craft of weaving is still practiced in the old-fashioned way, so without electricity. Very beautiful and even impressive to see how this happens. A family business and we were shown around by one of the owners, Chandana Sooriyaarachchi beautiful to see how everything is woven and then make beautiful sarees and sarongs of very nice fine quality. Very worthwhile to visit.

Enjoyed the tour and observing the looming in progress. The color combinations and patterns are so unique! The shop is small, but I took my time and found beautiful souvenirs to take back home. I wish I was able to get more! Fair prices for locally handmade goods.

This was one of the most interesting places we visited in Sri Lanka. It was fascinating to see the process of weaving. From making and dying the cotton through to setting up the looms and then making the material which is very high quality. It provides important employment in the local community and the skills of the workers is very evident over many years of experience. There is an excellent shop selling their products and we are very happy with what we were able to buy as well. We are so glad to have found this mill which was recommended by someone who we were talking to over our evening meal in Galle. Definitely a must see if you are in Galle and the best time to visit is Monday to Friday after 10am.

Discovering Sooriya weaving mill was one of the highlights of our trip to Galle. Beautiful handloom textiles made with integrity and transparency right behind the shop in a building in the jungle thrumming with magic. The owner Chandana could not have been kinder and more accommodating, he opened the shop on a holiday for us and has stayed in touch via messages to answer our questions and continued interest. Not to be missed at any cost.

(Translated by Google) It's quite interesting to know the origin of a piece of cloth, it's not easy! The staff and the bosses are very friendly, and it is recommended to spray insect repellent in the small country! Fun experience, a lesson😛 (Original) 相當有趣的認識一塊布的由來,相當不容易!員工與老闆們都很友善,位於小鄉間建議大家噴防蚊液哦!有趣的體驗,上了一課😛
