Well maintained railway station. Very close to Mount Lavinia hotel and the beach. Also has a good view and most of the trains stop here which doesn’t stop in either of the stations beside this one.

The Mount Lavinia Railway Station is clean and can say well maintained. The famous mount lavinia hotel is situated just few steps away from the railway station. Most of the express trains do stop in this Railway Station and it's a big plus point. Because of that and the location, this Railway Station is quite popular among the tourists. Mount Lavinia beach is also only few steps away and can walk to beach if you get off from the station. If you want to travel towards Colombo during rush hours, you can catch a train and that's great option to avoid traffic.

Mount Lavinia has the worst communication support. I’m really disappointed with it. People call them to ask about train schedules and prices of tickets because of the country’s economic status. But their replies are so pathetic. Even they don’t want to answer our questions. I’m really confused with their responsibilities. They are appointed to work for people. May be not all but few of those workers (I can’t say officers because they disrepute the name of officer) are ruining the reputation. Really disappointed and shame on the information center of Mount Lavinia Railway Station. 👎🏻

Just another government servants as most other government depts. when this most of the government servants will change their attitudes towarsd customers will change? They cant talk to a customer in a pleasant way without blagarding even when they are not busy.

It has been renovated to some extent of late. but no additional facilities have been constructed. The seating area of 2-3-4 platforms are not adequate at all. As a key station used by foreigners this has to be more tourist friendly.
