Overpriced, slow, ordinary. Based on all the excellent reviews and high prices I was under the impression it is going to be my best Indian food experience ever but it turned out to be quite the opposite. Upon entering we were not greeted, if we hadn’t sat down at a table we would have just ended up standing for 10 minutes at least probably. The host/waiter/bus boy/cook is one person (who I assume is the owner) for the whole restaurant!!! How can it be a good experience based on this? There is also no printed menu or a QR code to scan, instead it’s just a white board with unclear handwriting on what’s available. Also the owner emphasized the pricing on the menu - are estimates… We had one thali plate which was big enough for only 1 person but the price $28 should cover 2 people I think. They didn’t have the most basic thing - Samosas :( The food was fine but nothing special. I could tell it was heated up rather than freshly cooked, because it was partially lukewarm. And the Naan? It was the tiniest I have ever seen, it wouldn’t be enough even for a baby. During the whole visit we of course had to ask for everything separately and then wait for a while - water, napkins, the check. I have only one question “Who are these people that left all those 5 stars reviews!?”

I am surprised by all the 5 star reviews. The main reason to give 1 star is that the food is very expensive. $27 for a curry is expensive and quantity is less. Food tasted very okay. The naan seemed like pita bread. The name of the restaurant is Hari Om Shri Ram but they do serve non-vegetarian food. The manager was friendly though. I hope they work on the taste and prices.

Pricey menu for very small portions. Ordered chicken tikka masala where we couldn't differentiate whether the pieces were chicken or paneer (Seriously! the chicken pieces were in cube shaped) and we could immediately tell that the meat isn't fresh. Mushroom masala was a bit tangy. Their chai costs $5 which tasted just like sugar added in boiled tea water. 🛑 Overall food taste and quality didn't justify the rating this place currently has in maps.

Some of the best Indian food we have had. And that's coming from us being Indian 😀 Restaurant has lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a full, open bar. Food is FANTASTIC and very authentic and tastes home made. Flavors are very well balanced and not greasy like many Indian restaurants. Try the thali as you get a good selection. The owner is a botanist and is very picky about his vegetables and it shows. Very friendly staff.

After a week in Bend and 2 day stay at Shasta, we found this restaurant and wow what a food. The food was very very good unlike most restaurant food that is very greasy and creamy. Everything was organic and the food was very tasty and pure. There owner is very passionate about food quality and is extremely warm and welcoming. It was like eating at a friend’s home. We had a beautiful Mt. Shasta view while dining. Its s must visit place!!!

Amazing vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered chai tea, paneer tikka, and samosas which were all delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend if you’re a hungry traveler visiting Mt. Shasta.

Very tasty Indian food with homely feeling. Uncleji explained in detail about all the organic ingredients that he uses to cook the food. This restaurant is on the way to Mt. Shasta, so you can enjoy desi food after a tiring ⛷️ ski session. Food were served with a great hospitality. Foods were slightly overpriced but given their remote location and tasty food that they serve, I'll not rant over it. I loved it overall.

Great home cooked food with lots of care and even better service! We had samosas, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The chai was absolutely wonderful and the mango lassi was amazing!

I love this restaurant so much! This is my go to place for a special meal with my loved ones. Healthy high quality meals. The owner of the restaurant is so sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive! He and his wife go down to the bay area every week to get real quality ingredients for these meals! There's classics on the menu as well as some that were new for me to try. I'm so happy to see he's hired on help, too! The last time I was there, the servers were really sweet as well. Real authentic food, really nice and cozy atmosphere! I think the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food in my perspective. They won't let you go hungry and the owner is there to help you price things more efficiently! Their Chai tea is the best!

Had the yummiest lunch experience at Mount Shasta! We tried the non-veg thali, a veg thali, and a samosa plate. The samosas were generously sized and totally satisfying for a single person. The entire meal was amazing and left us fully content. Thank you for such a delightful lunch! 😋🍛🥗

Delicious and home cooked Indian food to try it out in Mount Shasta. We visited this place today and had chicken tikka masala thali n saag paneer thali, both were good and tasty. Best part is you can also enjoy the glimpse of Mount Shasta if you sit in open area.

A hidden gem for Indian food lovers! We enjoyed the taste of authentic Indian food with a view of Mt. Shasta. The taste of food was so good and it was not at all oily. The owners of the place were very sweet and welcoming. It was nice talking to them. It almost felt like home! I would definitely recommend this place.

Great food and awesome hospitality! The owner made us feel very much at home and even shared an off menu item his family made for themselves that was delicious (it was a coconut, cilantro and mint chutney I think) The samosas were huge and very flaky and fresh. Some of the food was a little spicy but I felt like it was a perfect amount and not overwhelming like some Indian food can be. I would definitely stop here if you want some good quality food and a relaxing environment

The food was great but that's not the only thing that builds your experience. Based on the owner's suggestion, we had ordered for a veg thali with Saag Paneer and a Chicken Thali. The food was absolutely delicious. In vegetarian thali, we got a mixed veg (very different than the usual Indian mixed veg), daal, rice, with a small naan, palak paneer. He also added a gobi aloo as well which we requested instead of daal. All of the food felt light weight but flavorful and filling too. The Chicken thali had all the above and a chicken tikka as well. The 2nd time we had food there, we had ordered for veg pakoda and chai. When we called up initially, he wasn't pleased as it seems like they don't serve the pakoda and chai by itself. You need to have dinner as well along with. This was absurd to be honest. But anyway we arrived there and the owner was apologetic and served us the pakoda and chai. Pakoda was great and very flavorful but the chai was not good at all. It felt like the chai was made in a vessel which was used for other dishes and not washed well. Chai had a strong flavor of veg curry. The hospitality was good. We enjoyed talking to the owner initially, as others have mentioned but eventually it felt a bit intrusive. At times it was hard to have a conversation with my wife while having our lunch(and dinner, on day 2) as he would come back with something to talk about. I must say, he won't let you miss your Indian "neighborhood uncle" :-D. He mentioned the following words "organic" and that he is a "botanist" Multiple times during our 2 visits to this place which became repetitive to me after some time. One of the reasons why we kept wondering if we should get a take out instead of having the food there on the 3rd day. Having said this, next time I am in Shasta I will surely get food from here if we have a craving for some spicy homely food.

As an Indian myself, I was shocked to find authentic Indian food in small town California. All the food was A+. The owner took really great care of me and my friends, treating us like family. It truly felt like I was dining at some long lost family's place. Definitely give this place a go!

Food is good and the hospitality is even better. Family owned restaurant and the owner goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. Food is mild, more homely and has a good blend of spices. Nothing out of the ordinary great but satisfying. The owner is very passionate about what they make and what locally grown ingredients they use. The view of Mt Shashta from the patio is beautiful.

Just stopping by the town on a road trip and chanced upon this wonderful Indian place. Unassuming ambience and delectable and authentic food using 90% organic ingredients. The saag paneer used at least four different greens and the sheer freshness of the mustard greens and spinach shone brightly in the dish. The samosas were fresh and the chai infused with a generous amount of ginger. What a treat!

Absolutely Delicious! I’ve only been to 3 different Indian restaurants in my life and this one doesn’t disappoint! I really hope they start being open more because this place really needs some fixing up, and decorations. I highly recommend trying this place out if you get the chance.

Out of this world indian food, such a gem to find in Mt Shasta. We will be making this a regular stop whenever we visit. We got the chicken Tikka masala, which was so creamy and fresh, garlic naan and rice. It was perfect to split for 2. We finished with two cups of the most amazing masala chai, which was a perfect way to end the meal. There's a lot of seating inside and outside, and views of Mt Shasta throughout. Absolutely awesome find!

Organic, fresh ingredients cooked to order with friendly and hospitable service. The food is really scrumptious, flavorful and filling without feeling heavy or greasy. The butter chicken is DIVINE, highly recommend soaking up every last drop with a piece of tasty naan. Of note, this not necessarily a “quick bite” but is totally worth the wait if you appreciate fresh, quality food. We did notice many people (maybe locals) call orders in ahead of time which is a good idea if you’re in a bit of a rush. Yummy yummy, highly recommend!

It is hands down the best Indian food we have had! The owner is extremely warm and welcoming and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. Flavor of the food is well balanced and not at all greasy like usual Indian restaurants in Bay Area. It tastes authentic, homely with a good blend of spices. If you are looking to try authentic Indian food, this is a must visit place!!

Wonderful authentic Indian cuisine. I had the butter chicken thalli and my friend had the coconut curry shrimp. Everything was delicious. The owner was very hospitable and welcomed as if it was his home. The price is higher due to organic ingredients but totally worth it. If you are a fan of Indian food this is a must stop if you are in the area.

Food was delicious. We tried Tea, mushroom curry, paneer butter masala and butter garlic naan. Taste was excellent. We went on weekend evening, there was a tremendous crowd. We waited for more than an hour for meals to be served. Washroom was not clean.

My very first Indian food - loved it! I had the butter chicken Thali style with lentils, chickpeas, and mixed vegetables, and a chai - it came with several sides, a good sized portion of rice, and a small naan. My friend had the aloo methi and loved it. Our server - I think he was also the chef - carefully described the dishes to make sure I got something I would enjoy. Will definitely recommend to friends and eat there again when we are back to visit.

The food is outstanding! I love that there are multiple vegan options and I went with the vegan bartha(eggplant). Like all of the options it came with rice, naan, and three other tasty dishes! I loved every single bite. And am thrilled that it was enough for two meals- can’t wait to enjoy it a second Tim!

Delicious and authentic food! We loved their shrimp curry and chicken tikka masala. The garlic naan too! The owners are very welcoming and they entertained us with stories. We went back twice! Also oet friendly!

Such a delicious surprise for my husband and I during our visit to Shasta. The owner made us feel right at home and was so friendly. We shared one a la carte butter chicken and a thali plate with an eggplant potato fish. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. A few dishes had more heat (chickpeas and mixed veggies) but it wasn't overwhelming for my low tolerance. The butter chicken had a nice sweetness without being overly so and a hint of tartness. The menu is small and changes based on ingredients available. The mango lassi was one of the best we've had. When we go back, there will be no sharing of the lassi! Overall very enjoyable experience.

I’m visiting from San Francisco and loved my dinner at Hari Om Shri Ram! The owner was so warm and welcoming and I had the vegan thali plate which was so filling, healthy, and delicious. Heart-warming on a rainy day. I will definitely be back 😌
