Amazing walk in experience - my wife's spontaneity and intuition stopped us walking on Villa St. , She pointed at the working stylist and shouted -" here, we go here for your haircut" We ended up getting a color and stylish finish for her and a cut for me. Finally a true professional in Mountain View!! I had almost given up on the quality here in CA alltogether and couldn't wait to get my hair done in Europe, so was she.. Perfect color match, difficult curling tamed and that special magic that makes sense and looks great As far as for me, I got my roundabouts and Yetis done in "best salons" lately for upswings of money and downdrafts of waiting for the next frustration. Jean-Marie is The Best with the attention to detail, professionalism, imagination, experience and warmth. Highly recommend the salon if you truly care about the quality of work. Five plus the heart. I've followed Jean-Marie from salon to salon for about 7 years now. I'm so happy he's thriving in his own space! He's the only person who ever cut my hair so that it looked good naturally without any styling. Like, he's so much better than any other hairdresser I've tried. My friend had a phobia of stylists and felt she would always hate what other people did with her hair - I sent her to Jean-Marie when she was visiting and she loved it. Now she waits until she's in the Bay Area to get her hair cut!

Update: I have colored my hair at this salon a while ago. I have a very sensitive scalp and it appeared that the product used to color my hair doesn't work well for such a sensitive skin. It took a while for my scalp to recover. The color looked good though, so I've updated my review to 4 out of 5 (initially it was 3 out 5 due to the problem I described above). Jean has an amazing personality. He takes his time and doesn't rush through appointments like most salons do in Bay Area. I'm satisfied with my haircut and I will absolutely go back. Glad I found him!! I agree with the other reviewers on his listening abilities. He understands your ideas well.

Jean Marie is wonderful! He was a great listener and was very careful to make sure he understood exactly what I wanted before coloring my hair. I am very happy with the results- it's very clear he is a long time pro! And on top of everything, I truly enjoyed talking with him. He is such an interesting and dynamic person with a heart of gold and it shows through in the care he takes with his business. It should also be noted that he is very COVID conscious and his salon is impeccably clean. I was the only client in the salon the entire time I was there and he was in a full mask + shield set up... I felt very safe! Prices were also great!
