The pool area is disappointing. Breakfast is pretty good they got the usual continental breakfast. The bar stays open until midnight. The location is within walking distance of the old harbor. The WiFi is pretty weak but it is free. The shower and bathroom are pretty awesome. They even have different pillows for you to try. Bed is very comfortable. Power to the room is shutoff when you leave so it's kind of a pain to keep the temperature where you want it. It's also inconvenient to operate the room lighting. Overall I reccomend it despite the slight inconveniences due to my own culture shock.

Stella made sure our stay was great by arranging us a room with pool view (221), which was very quiet given the central location of the hotel. The breakfast was very complete. About 7' walking distance to the beach, the old town and the central bus station. Great option to explore the best of Chania! We managed to rent bicycles at the bike shop nearby.

A really nice hotel near the beach with all the great restaurants and the Venetian harbour in old town. Breakfast buffet included some of the most as well as some surprises every morning. It might be a typical Greek meat pie or some other fun local dishes. The hotel was neat and clean with very cosy public areas. Hung happily a few hours both at the bar, spoke with great bar staff or by the pool. Extra plus to the wonderful staff, especially Emily who helped the guests with everything.

We spent 10 nights at this lovely hotel. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very generous with lots of choices. The bed was really comfortable (it included a mattress topper to make it softer at our request which can easily be removed if you prefer a harder bed) and the double rooms are large. It was a pleasure to have a bar fridge in the room that was actually really nice and cold - so many hotels have bar fridges that are barely cool. We found the hotel and rooms to be exceptionally clean. Some reviews from many years ago say differently. I suspect the hotel has had a make-over and new management as we saw only nice clean, modernised spaces and very fastidious cleaning staff throughout the day. The balcony is a welcome place to sit on and we had a room overlooking the garden, terrace and pool; all of which are well maintained, clean and lovely to sit in with plenty of sun loungers. The gym deserves a mention as it is large and has most equipment to give you a really decent workout with some adaptations to the usual lack of heavier free-weights in a hotel gym. It is a very short walk to the nearest beach and also only a short 10 minute walk to the old town. (I’ve seen some reviews complaining about the distance. If a 10 minutes walk to town is too far for you, the problem not the hotel). This meant both were easy to get to, but away from the noise at night when you wanted to sleep. It also means (unlike in the middle of the old town where vehicles are not allowed) you can park your car right by the hotel. Reception kindly organised a surprisingly cheap car hire for us who brought the car to the hotel and fetched it when we were done. Wi-Fi is a little slow. It’s fine for social media and WhatsApp, but you wouldn’t be able to work remotely here if that’s what you are planning. All in all, highly recommend, especially for the staff.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel a couple of nights and would welcome the opportunity to do it again. The hotel staff were just great. They were pleasant, helpful, and available for anything you needed. I had a small problem with the power in my room and they sent someone up immediately to take correct the situation. The rooms run on the small side but are very clean and well appointed. There is a breakfast buffet and the food was very good. Simple, but good. The hotel is conveniently located walking distance to the center. I would definitely stay here again.

Myself and a large group of my coworkers ended up staying here unexpectedly while travelling back to the US in 2017. It was a great place to stay. The staff were wonderful in providing recommendations of places to visit, and the on-site food options were delicious as well. I don't know if they still have it, but there was a coffee bar where you could have coffee brewed using hot sand. It was my first time experiencing that, and I enjoyed it alot. If you are ever in Crete, consider staying here.

A very welcome atmosphere, the Akali hotel was well setup and comfortable. The temperature settings in the rooms were perfect, the breakfast was delicious and the pool facilities were very nice. The staff were really helpful at all times and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Chania. All in all a wonderful experience.

Top marks. Hospitality and service excellent. The staff from the reception, breakfast and house keeping are all friendly- attentive and very warm. Room is very comfortable with everything one would need such as comfortable beds- air conditioning and automatic lighting in bathrooms / amenities/ room service etc. great choice for a city hotel. Parking available making it very convenient as it is also very close to the old town/port so one can leave the car in the parking and just walk to the old town( 500 m away or 10 min walk) . breakfast - wide variety ( american buffet) and small sized pool but nice garden setting making it comfortable for families too. room service until 23.00 h - am really enjoying my stay. would definitely come again

We stayed here for 10 days, the staff are excellent from the top down. Reception staff were helpful and friendly, the bar staff are fun and attentive and the cleaners are diligent and yet again friendly. Super comfortable beds, a great location and its so handy that they have parking because to properly see the rest of Crete you need a car. Great pool area too, never too crowded and nice and quiet.

Lovely friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast. Really nice pool and garden area. On a busy road - ask for a room overlooking the pool. Very clean. Comfortable bed.

Beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff. Our family ejoyed the pool for afternoon dips to cool off after days out in town and on excursions. About a 10 minute walk to the old town/tourist-y area, so nice and quiet at night. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a really nice stay, the room was big enough, nice balcony, cleaning team was really good and respectful, the breakfast had a lot of options for all the tastes. We liked it very much❤️

Checked into the hotel and they tried to give me a lower level of room then the one I reserved. And the wifi in the room itself would cut in and out. When the wifi worked it was slow and I couldn't even watch YouTube

Old fashioned hotel at the far end of Chania. Difficult to park around even in winter. Clean and neat. Rather slow WiFi.

This was a really nice hotel. The employees were very friendly and attentive, the breakfast was one of the best I've had traveling, and the rooms were comfortable, quiet, and sizable. Such a great place.

One of the nicest hotels we stayed in during our two week trip to Greece. My room was clean and spacious. I wish we would have stayed here longer.

I went here 3 years ago. They invested in special beds and haven't slept so good in a long time. Service was top! Pool was good too. Breakfast was amazing!! Highly recommend, very friendly staff. Not far off from city but not in the city either.

The staff are the most friendly and obliging people you'll ever meet. The location is a short 10 minute walk to the old town. Our only (small) complaint was the breakfast was somewhat disappointing

Very nice hôtel, with an excellent downtown location , especially close to shopping street. Yet at less than 10 minutes from a beautiful beach. Staff is very friendly, and helpful. Rooms are large , always very clean. Breakfast is buffet style, abundant and rich in varieties. It was a really enjoyable experience
