If you want to explore Chania (Xania), Samaria hotel is a very good location It's just outside of the bustling center, with well sound-insulated rooms. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioned. The choice of breakfast options is decent, and they offer you plenty of coffee. Personally, we prefer cappuccino, which takes a little longer to get but is also an option. So in summary: we did not miss anything there and would happily return on another occasion.

Our experience of Chania has been absolutely wonderful, and in great part this is thanks to all the staff at Samaria Hotel -at the reception, parking, restaurant, cleaning - individuals who were authentically kind, unbelievably helpful, professional and caring. The food at the restaurant was excellent, both for breakfast and other meals. Sure the wifi as pointed out by other reviewers may have been patchy at times but nothing can make up for the wealth of the genuine human interactions we had the privilege to experience at Samaria Hotel.σε ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ

Four Star Service, Two Star infrastructure. The staff is kind and courteous. The location is in the heart of Chania. The wifi barely works, the rare times it connects. The in-room air condition barely works (when it works, despite multiple complaints. The staff centrally turned it off to our room once). The pool area is small and filled cigarette smoke from other guests. This is not what we were expecting from a four star hotel and not what the other ratings indicate. We were here for our honeymoon and have been disappointed. UPDATE: The hotel quickly responded to this review and moved us to a much nicer room with excellently functioning air conditioning.

Great location near the heart of Chania, with a very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone from the reception staff to the cleaners were wonderful. Room was very comfortable, and the air con was a life saver in the middle of the recent heat wave.

Lovely hotel, good breakfast and small gym, the pool was sadly closed when we were there (April). Great central location for Chania

Wonderful hotel, with an ample sized swimming pool positioned within easy walking distance to the harbour. The staff are very professional, friendly, helpful, informative. Their aim is to make your holiday the best it can be, 10 out of 10

The staff here is super friendly, always smiling and asking how are you doing. The hotel it is super well located, less than 5 min walk to the Main Street to walk to the Old Town. They have parking, costs EUR12 per day. The pool area is small but really nice. 3 days of the week there are live piano music in the lobby. We were able to get one on Wednesday and it was really lovely. The room we got was standard room, so very compact. The issue was the bathroom it was really small. Difficult for 2 People to be inside. Otherwise everything was great. Room was facing the street and had a balcony. I thought there was some noise, but nothing that would be really worried if you keep the door close. The breakfast was really good. Very nice selection.

This is the best fourth star hotel we have ever stayed on! And I would not be surprised if it had five stars! The service level is crazy high - food is really good and the pool and bar areas are so cool and stylish! Extreme value for money.

Amazing hotel in the centre of chania. Next to the bus station so you can get around the island. 5 minute walk into the venetian harbour. Super market opposite the hotel makes grabbing essentials easy. The staff, food and service was amazing. Highly recommend.

Very good hotel with kind staff, they served a nice breakfast and oddly enough the coffee was always the perfect temperature, though that may just be me. Close to everywhere I wanted to visit, would definitely stay here again.

I have been in many hotels, but this was something else. We have organised a meeting in the hotel and it went beyond our expectations. The staff is EXCELLENT. Very willing, polite + amazing professionals! The food was excellent as well and the location was very close to the old town. Thank you for your perfect hospitality and I hope to come back very soon.

A fantastic place to stay in Chania!! Cannot say enough about the staff and the service. Rooms are very clean, open and comfortable. Food is absolutely stellar (breakfast). The location is just minutes away from top restaurants and bay. My only complaint is that WIFI is patchy. I would not hesitate to stay here again if ever I’m back in Chania. Superb!!

Extremely friendly and efficient service… I would say the best we have experienced in so many years of travel! We keep coming back for more … already stayed 5 times!

Valet: They offer valet service - I had to circle around the building 3 times before I was able to find out where valet was - it’s off to the street on the right when you pass the front entrance, located near the cones; staff should be there to move the cones for you to park and drop off your car. Definitely recommend getting a taxi or using the bus to get to the hotel as parking is difficult to find - traffic was crazy on a Friday evening in the end of September… I can’t imagine how much more hectic it is during summer / tourist season. Hotel: The inside of the hotel is lovely and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast is included with your stay (indoor and outdoor seating by the pool). The rooms are clean and the bed is large (especially for one person) - I loved it. I had a Nespresso machine in my room and it was amazing. Location: The hotel is a close walk to downtown, maybe 5 minutes or less. There are so many restaurants and shops nearby, as well as sightseeing/attractions - the light house, the water’s edge, the sunset, and some museums.

This place is fantasic... you can't beat the location. It's within walking distance of the harbor and excellent restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful... they booked a tour for us and they called our tours as well. The breakfast is also great! The pool is also a welcome oasis to cool off with. It goes without saying that the hotel was clean as well.

Very good hotel. Clean, Very good breakfasts, close to the old town and the old port. A taxi from/to the airport is 25-30€. You should know: in the back of the hotel is the central bus station and I'm front the main (?) Street. So you will have some noise if you leave the window / door open. Bit if you leave it closed you will hear nearly nothing. The guy on the piano should stop playing 10pm and not later 😉

Our stay was pleasant. The hotel is located near the vibrant street of Chania. They also assisted us in booking trips to Samaria Gorge, Balos & Elafonisi beach (all are highly recommended). The room was clean and staff were very helpful. They also offered us a cake & wine bottles free of charge once they knew it was our honeymoon. The breakfast was tasty. Thanks a lot for your hospitality & professionalism.

What an incredible stay we had at the Samaria Hotel, located centrally in the best part of Chania. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful with finding local beaches and restaurants to visit. The hotel facilities are amazing with a gorgeous private pool and free towels for use. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and covid-safe, offering local Greek dishes and other well-made continental breakfast items. The room was impeccably clean, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was beautiful and had great water pressure, soundproof terrace doors block out all the street noise, and we were greeted with some sips of Greek spirits and candies. If you’re heading to the beach, they will lend you beach towels as well. 10/10.

Beautiful rooms. Very comfortable. Cleaning standards are very good. Breakfast was top. Staff nice and location is really good.

Really nice hotel close to the old town. The swimming is a bit crowded during summer peak season but everything else from the room look and feel to the breakfast and the staff is great. They have a very convenient valet service for your car which I recommend you take for 8€ a day because it’s really complicated to find free parking in Chania.

Absolutely beautiful establishment. Staff was friendly, very helpful, and helped us out with all of our random requests. Rooms were modern, bed was comfortable, my room had a welcome bottle of wine, and a fresh fruit plate. The breakfast was magnificent, a mix of a European spread with all of the typical American breakfast items. And if you’re a coffee lover, like myself… the cafe attached the hotel had amazing coffee, and a splendid food menu to accompany whatever drink you’d like to have. Finally, the location is great, just slightly on the edge of all that Chania has to offer. Very walkable.

Samaria Hotel is the best city hotel in the town of Chania. Spotless clean, professional service and a full breakfast buffet. Very centrally located in the old town with walking distance to the old harbour and several seafood restaurants. The staff (from hotel manager, front desk to porters) are super friendly and go the extra mile to serve guests. My in-laws had an early flight and the hotel prepared gluten free breakfast to take with them. We are always very pleased to stay at Samaria whenever we visit Chania.

Very nice hotel! Clean and modern with comfortable beds. Wi-Fi was a bit slow and kept dropping but everything else was excellent. The breakfast is included and there is a small bar/diner on the bottom floor. Staff is very professional and friendly.

We were staying at this hotel a large family and we were amazing about its high customer service. It's located in a perfect place near the old city. It is modern and new and yet feels like a boutique hotel with a warm and friendly service. They helped us with airport shuttle and car rental. It was a great holiday thanks to the hotel staff

Every hotel in Greece (and Europe for that matter) should be like Samaria Hotel!! They set a standard that can't be beat. The staff were all very friendly and the service was exceptionable (especially if the airline lost your bags), beautiful pool, gorgeous hotel facilities, amazing breakfast, and all at a very reasonable price. I was very fortunate to stay at this hotel and will never forget this stay. Best vacation ever and Samaria had alot to do with it! Thank you, Samaria, keep up the great job, and I very much look forward to seeing you again just as soon as I can!

Lovely hotel, modern and clean. Very friendly staff who really helped with anything we needed throughout the stay. Great location, just 10 minutes walk to the chania port and a bus/coach station next door which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Thank you to the lovely staff for having us.

I don't know how this hotel can get less than a 5 star review. The management and staff should give seminars to other hotels on what it means to provide "customer service". My wife and I were impressed with every aspect of this hotel. We stayed at the hotel from 9/10/2002 to 9/16/2022. -FIrst...the staff. So warm, friendly, and seemed to enjoy doing whatever they could to make our stay perfect. They were all so knowledgeable about Chania and recommend the perfect restaurants and beaches. I can't say enough about the entire staff. -Effortless-The hotel took care of all of the arrangements for cabs to and from the airport (approx. 30 euros each way)as well as the arrangements for a rental car. I was concerned about parking but for 10 euros/day the hotel offered valet service. Well worth the money for peace of mind. -Breakfast-amazing and well suited to any type of diet (keto, vegetarian, vegan, etc). Everything was really delicious. -The Bed----Ahhhhh...if my wife and I hadn't spent a considerable amount of $$ for our current bed, the hotel bed is the one I would purchase. We each had an incredible night sleep. -The room was great and extremely comfortable. -Location -couldn't be better. Just a few minutes from the Port. But, it was also nice to walk around the neighborhood where the locals live and shop.(away from the tourists). I hope the management gets to read this. I personally would like to express my thanks for an amazing stay in your country. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

The Hotel is between the main Bus Station and main road. When the Window in the room is closed it's very quite, but by open window you can hear everything round a clock. The room is Standard and there is a little present (Sweets and Alcohol) for the guest inside. The Hotel Staff is very friendly and helps in any situation. The swimming pool is beside the Bus Station and you can't really relaxe there, but for a short sport session acceptable. The quality of the breakfast is high and when you have problems with Lactose or Gluten intolerance you get special food and drinks direct from the kitchen. Contact the restaurant stuff directly for that. The next beach is around 15 minutes far away and easy to walk. But when you have time walk or drive to the golden beach.

Lovely hotel, staff are amazing. Rooms are very very clean. Nice pool area and food and drinks are great. On the edge of the old town and a short walk to the port and Nea Chora beach. Will definitely be back.

With all my repect to the others 4* (ex kydon) , this hostel was really great! Kindness of the team, quality and diversity of the breakfast, the bar, the renovation of the room, proximity with downtown. So i really recommend this place!
