A friend and I just spent two weeks diving at Tofo Scuba, also staying at Tilak Lodge. We had an exceptional time, as Brodie, Dan, and the dive instructors took fantastic care of us. They were very safe and professional, with equipment in top shape, but they were also laid-back, which was a great combination. And the location right on the beach was lovely. We had so many fantastic dives, with lots of mantas, different type of sharks, guitarfish, and a wide variety of other fish. And we got to snorkel with several whale sharks! They offer discounts if you stay and dive with them, which was superb! It was so nice to have one crew taking care of everything. They arranged a snorkeling trip to see sea horses, as well as our PCR tests and transfers. Also, just in general, Tofo was so safe, and there were some nice restaurants when we wanted to mix things up. I'm really sad to be leaving, as it definitely became a home away from home. Hopefully I can return someday.

This place has (besides a magnificent ocean), a great vibe! Me and my friend wanted to get our PADI here and I am superglad we did. From back home (Netherlands) they helped us to arrange all things necessary including doing the theory part online. On location we could start right away with the practical work. Our Instructor Olivia was very skilled. She was very clear and patient in her instructions and made me feel very at ease. The open water dives were extraordinary: I saw the most beautiful sea creatures on those I would have never imagined. Thanks to Olivia who has a good eye for spotting them. In addition to scuba diving, the ocean-snorkeling safari's are a must. When we were there (July) there were very many humpbackwhales and the whale shark view from the water I will never forget!

I spent a week diving with Tofo Scuba and it was a truly fantastic experience. It's a very professional set-up located right on the beach. After the tranquil and balmy waters of the Red Sea, Tofo was quite challenging diving for me (!) but I felt very safe and well looked after my entire time. Tofo Scuba have assembled a really excellent team – from the lead instructors to all the support staff and boat captains. There is a very affordable restaurant and bar attached to the centre which is open all day and does amazing breakfasts before you set out, and great lunches for when you get back! (It's also open in the evenings). All the dive equipment at Tofo Scuba is top-notch and the staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. I had a great time, saw tons of marine wildlife (including a whole load of fish I've never seen in my life before!) and explored some wonderful dive sites. I will definitely be back! One of the things that I really liked about Tofo Scuba is that they have an ongoing programme to train up local Mozambican divers as Dive Masters - this is a really great scheme which gives back to the community in a really significant way. There were three local guys getting trained while I was there and they were all excellent. (ps I also did my Nitrox certification with Tofo Scuba as they had a great deal on the course price.)

Intended to spend a week here, stayed for nearly a month. A wonderful diving family that were super knowledgable, safety conscious and fun. I really hope I have the chance to come back. The affiliated Tilak Lodge is a lovely place to stay too.

We had a great time with Tofo Scuba, a week of double tankers on the deep reefs did not disappoint. They have a friendly and professional team that takes good care of the divers as well as the gear. We were surprised with a visit from a Great White as well as large schools of Cow-nose rays which was extra special. Unforgettable experience! We will be back next year.

Lovely outfit to dive with. Really friendly, keen to make sure you get the experience you want, happy to advise when to dive or not to dive to get the best conditions, always positive (we were there with bad weather and they kept our spirits up despite bad visibility!), and made it feel easy and stress free. My only comment is I wish they’d offer something other than egg sandwiches for the snack beteeen dives!

Tofo Scuba is a professional and safety first scuba diving centre in Tofo Mozambique. We did 8 dives with them over 4 days. The team has superb knowledge of the many dive sites in the region and where and when to go based on the weather, tides and currents. The DMs/instructors are friendly and approachable if you feel uneasy about anything. Their dive briefings although thorough and meticulous are also greatly entertaining and create great anticipation for the dives. Many of the dives sites here are 20+m and as we are both advanced divers with Nitrox certifications we were glad to have the extra bottom time and shorter surface intervals. Olivia, James, Nelson and Rea really know the sites well and were great at pointing out some of the rarer and more elusive sea life. Olivia specifically has an outstanding knowledge of life under the sea. We are grateful to Five and Mannie who skippered the RIBS and spent their time on the boat while we were down. We are glad we chose to dive with Tofo Scuba and recommend them if you are ever lucky enough to dive in this paradise. See you next trip Russel and Rose

I completed my open water diving certificate with Tofo Scuba and was extremely happy with the whole process! I had visited a few dive centres around Tofo but 100% made the right decision here. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient! Huge special thank you to my instructor Olivia - who was amazing when it came to explaining the skills thoroughly and a really fun companion for the dives! I felt completely safe and looked after the whole time, both under and out of the water. The staff around the centre were also all super friendly and the place had a good vibe. Definitely would have stayed for longer if I had the time but will have to see these guys again for some deep dives!

Friendly staff, although most of them (except the main guy in charge) are young and inexperienced. It does feel like a lot of small things could be done to make it a more organized and professional outfit, such as: i) letting people try on their mask while getting kitted up at the centre instead of doing it last minute on the boat with BCDs on and passing masks up and down as the boat moves; and ii) sitting people in front of their BCD in the boat, instead of playing musical chairs to match people to their kit at the last minute on choppy water (just line people up in order when launching the boat). I was also told who my buddy was on land, only to find out underwater that I actually had a different buddy to who I had been told was my buddy back at the centre. I was also not told that we were ascending when the dive turned - no-one gave the ascent sign to me.

We had a great week of diving with James and the gang Very professional Safety was #1 Knew the dive sites well We will be back.

The 1st time we went there we got welcomed by Ross, it was very pleasant and we also got all the informations needed. We signes up for the 1st day and then followed all the other days from that. It is a very nice ambiance around, a bit a family style, the crew works well altogether and it keeps it very nice. Jen and Ross have extensive knowledge about the marine life here and will be able to tell you a lot if you are interested about. Brodie has helped us a lot with getting things done for us, an important source of info to organize yourself there. Thank you to Liv, Dan, Ross, James, Tony, Brodie, Nelson, and all the skippers and staff getting the equipment ready everyday.

What a great dive shop. One of the most organised dive shops I've seen throughout the places I've dived. Very professionally run. The staff are sociable, skillful and extremely knowledgeable! One of the best locations in tofo to have a beer and watch some whales in the bay (only in season of course). It also has a wonderful restaurant attached to it that does a banging chicken prego and a variety of local dishes including matapa! One of the best places I've dived due to being able to see the big and the small stuff throughout every reef in tofo. I've heard the whale songs on the shallow sites and FROGFISH to my heart's content on the deep sites. There will be something for everyone to enjoy in Tofo!

We had a 2 nice Ocean Safaris with Tofo Scuba in June. First time, 2 whale shark sightings and 1 with Dolphins. Couldn't go into water with the Dolphins at the First time and some.guy scared of the whale shark the First time, cause he tocuhed him. The next day, we were able to swim with whale sharks, Dolphins and we saw humpback whales jumping. Great experience! Was fun with Alex! And not so crowdy like the others companies! We were both Times only 4 ppl..in the boat ans not 10 or more like the other boats looking for the sharks. I would always do it again.

Only good words for this place! When we started planning our trip to Mozambique, we emailed Tofo Scuba to give some feedback on the best travel times. Immediately from the first email Brodie sent us back, everything about this place felt right. We decided to come over in October to see the humpback whales. I did my open water course and my boyfriend did his advanced course. We were able to do some of the dives together and this was awesome! I am claustrophobic myself and had some trouble to get going with diving. My instructor (Keelan) was super patient and really made me feel comfortable. Because of him I was able to complete my course (even in the expected time frame). Also, the diving school has a partnership with the Tilak lodge which is beautiful and very close to the diving school. Again, Brodie arranged all of this for us, very helpful and nice. We definitely had the best time in Tofo thanks to Tofo Scuba. So, we would 100% recommend this place.

Wasn't sure about where to go but after walking in the front door it felt like we were where we belonged. We did a few dives with the team there and loved everything about it. Extremely well organised team and dive planning done perfectly. Really professional team and incredible knowledge of the reefs in the area. Will be back soon for sure!
