5 star paradise in Tofo I spent 9 nights at Tilak Lodge in a ensuite room and absolutely loved every minute of my stay! I was there for my advanced diving course at Tofo Scuba and it was the perfect location within 5 minutes walking distance to the dive shop and approx 12 minutes to the market area in Tofo which is perfect for avoiding the late night music in town. As a solo female traveller I am always a littler nervous when going somewhere new but from the minute I arrived I was greeted by the friendliest people and made to feel welcome by the entire team at both Tilak Lodge and Tofo Scuba. It has a lovely family feel with the owners and managers on site who are there to help with any request, question or advice you may need. The two family pet dogs are both really friendly and one even became my running companion and often walked me straight to my door late at night. The rooms are very spacious, beautifully decorated, have a large ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and the best bit is the beds are like sleeping on clouds making it very difficult to leave! Rooms are serviced daily and kept immaculate by the wonderful staff. The bar and restaurant area has the best views in the whole of Tofo and are perfect for breakfast, snacks and a cocktail to watch the sunset. Charlotte and her team in the kitchen were incredible and catered to my dietary requests and the food/drinks were delicious!! The only downside would be the wifi connection is very slow but this is the same throughout Mozambique so if you need to stay connected my advice would be to purchase a local SIM and data credit when you arrive. I would highly recommend Tilak Lodge as a place to rest, relax, enjoy the beautiful beaches, surf, diving and the warm Mozambique hospitality.

A friend and I just spent two weeks at Tilak Lodge, also diving at Tofo Scuba. We had an exceptional time, as Brodie and Dan took fantastic care of us. The lodge was comfortable, everything worked well, the food was tasty, the views of the beach and sunrise were lovely, and Brodie helped arrange everything (diving, snorkeling, transport, PCR tests, etc.). All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. It was so nice to be so well taken care of after having done a lot of independent travel. And they offer discounts if you stay and dive with them, which was superb! We saw several whale sharks and so many mantas! Also, just in general, Tofo was so safe, and there were some nice restaurants when we wanted to mix things up. I'm really sad to be leaving, as it definitely became a home away from home. Hopefully I can return someday.

I left my personal expensive pillow there and phoned short (30min)after i left and they said its gone.Location is tops.Rooms are clean .Not enough plugs.No braai place.Rooms are little bit neglected. Very safe to stay even with open trailors.Pricing is moderate.Nice break between border and Inhambane.Owner is also equipped for road assistance.

Beautiful lodge, the restaurant has a great view for sunset and sunrise. Rooms are spacious. The bed is large and confortable. Shower is very nice as well.

Didn't previously plan to stay here ,but man we were stoked once we did. Really clean rooms and linen and bathrooms nice and big for a couple sharing.

Amazing location and views, very calm and relaxed atmosphere and AC rooms with everything you need. Danny and Brodie are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make sure that you enjoy your holiday. They also have the best dive centre in the area (Tofo Scuba). Highly recommended.

Our three week stay at Tilak lodge was amazing! They make the booking and transfer process effortless and welcome you with open arms. Each and every staff member goes above and beyond to meet client expectations and they always do so with a smile! The rooms were in a pristine condition upon arrival and the staff maintained this standard throughout the trip. The Tilak bar was on of the highlights. Charlotte and her staff have an amazing menu which results in a lot of over indulging. The barman, chef and servers are all well trained and deliver service with a smile. The lodge owners are always close by should one need them, and they make a effort to ensure the guests are satisfied and that their team works well together. Lastly this is the only lodge that offers a perfect panoramic view of the ocean(sunrise) and sunset from the same deck area.

One of the best bars and places to chill and watch the sunset or eat breakfast. Its a short walk out of town but totally worth it. Also the walk there by the road is really nice

Really comfortable, well-maintained lodge with friendly hosts and staff. Loved the location away from Tofo beachfront bustle. Views from the bar area were incredible :) Also try the yoga classes next door!

Beautiful rooms and balcony bar for both the beach and sunset. Amazingly helpful owner Brody. The brand new pool area will also be awesome soon!

Beautiful place to stay. Clean and spaceful rooms. With an amazing view on the beach and seeing the sunrise and sunset from the restaurant on the hill. Also, they have a great partnership with Tofo Scuba, a really nice diving school close by.

Just spent 4 nights at Tilak Lodge with my family. It was a lovely experience, beautiful rooms that were very well kept, nice bar/restaurant with incredible rooms. Definitely recommend.
