Our stay at Country Homes was absolutely wonderful. The host and his entire family were extremely hospitable and friendly. The breakfast served was delectable and the balcony view was nothing short of breathtaking. We would not hesitate to return at any time in the future!

We stay Country homes Ella 4 nights. Location is 500 meters from center of Ella. From hotel to center is easy to walk, good roads. Also you can ask tuk tuk for 200 to 300 for you. Every morning you have awesome breakfast delivered to you room. Be carefull for not to leave food in balcony for monkey to eat. From balcony views are amazing. There is no words for it. You just look and are amazed. From most expensive room you have also view to side of Little Adams peak. We must have a really special words for Lakshan and his young friend for taking sooo good care of our all needs. Really super helpfull from arrival handling our 25 kg luggage bags (sry for heavy load..) in hotel room & helping us all possible ways to enjoy Ella. If you are travelling to Ella, this place is Great choice to stay in!

Very friendly staff over here. The breakfast is super nice. They bring it to your room every day. And the view from your room is also unbelievable.

First the positives: the view from the rooms is FANTASTIC. Really stunning valley views from the balcony where you can sip your tea/coffee. The staff are also super helpful and responsive. Finally, the location is just a few minutes walk (uphill) to main street in Ella - I found it easiest to walk back and forth. HOWEVER, my room had one fatal problem. The toilet was letting out a horrendous stench. It was clearly a plumbing/sewage issue. Despite my informing the staff and some plumbing work being done while I was out during the day.. the smell remained. It would even come into the room so I had to put a towel under the toilet door. Basic hygiene failed here. Furthermore, the breakfast was also below average. I wish I could give this place a higher rating because of the view and the staff, but I can't. It isn't a super budget place, and so I have to be honest.

I’m speechless with the quality of this place. Really amazing with amazing staff. That view of the mountains will remember for years. Rooms also in the finest quality. One of the best experiences I had as a traveler in recent past. Here’s 5 star from me Country Homes😍

Amazing spot to stay with great views of the area. Can be hard for drivers to enter but there is a back door near the top of the mountain. Short 10 min walk on a slight incline to center town. Plus they serve an amazing breakfast in bed!

Super great place where to stay in Ella. Wonderfull view, large comfy bed, large shower. Excellent balcony where to eat a breakdast which is tasty. (Sim and wifi interenet slow, so not for working, I believe at all places in Ella, please contact host before arrival to receive correct location)

We spent nice 3 nights in Suite apartament with Mountain view. Staff is really nice and friendly, breakfast can be served on balcony (we didn't use this option much due to monkeys). View from the balcony is stunning, but sitting on balcony is a bit disturbed by Main Street noise. Room and bathroom are spacious, but could be a bit refreshed ;-) Windows are quite dirty, so while in bed, you won't enjoy the view fully. Still, quite a good pick, can be recommended. There was ac in the room, but we didn't use it much (as there was no need).

Our stay at this family-run hotel was fantastic. Despite the TV not working, we didn't mind, as the balcony view was stunning. The room, although a bit dated, was clean. It might not be suitable for those who are overly particular. We　chose this place for the balcony view and the chance to encounter monkeys.

Great location, breathtaking views and friendly staff. There was no a/c in the room though but for a one night stay it was not an issue. Be careful with the monkeys stealing your breakfast!

We really enjoyed staying here ! The Vue is just incredible ! Mountains faces you in the morning, best thing to wake up. The family running the business is really nice, kind and always helpful. Great service. It was a pleasure to stay 4 days there, the cosy room makes rainy days amazing

Amazing room, location and overall view from the balcony. Rooms are neat and tidy with good bed quality and bathroom with hot water. One big minus is no food service, though breakfast is available.

Ella is an expensive place to stay in relative to the bedroom/service style that you receive - compared to other parts of the country. We enjoyed our stay at Country Homes, mainly thanks to the view the rooms command. It’s much more of a bed and breakfast or home stay than it is a hotel. Unfortunately our rooms weren’t cleaned across the three days we were there because they’d lost the spare key - you’d think getting a replacement would take only hours though. If you want a room with a view and (average) aircon, then this is a good place to go.

The location was perfect. It was nearby Ella (walk of 7min) with a view on Ella rock. The staff was helpful and tried their best to make our stay as comfortabel as possible. Breakfast was delicious and brought to our room so you can eat it on the balcony with the view. First night we had a mouse visitor in our bed that startled us, but once again the staff helped us get rid of it and even apologized with some free beers while this wasn't there fault. Also a lot of gecko's at night that leave some poop around. But got cleaned up every day.

Really enjoyed our one night stay in Country Homes, we would have stayed the following night if it wasn’t totally booked up! Although this isn’t a surprise when you meet the genuinely friendly and kind family that run this place. The views from the room are STUNNING. And breakfast served onto your balcony for you to enjoy whilst looking over Ella Rock, and the luscious mountains in the distance is a beautiful touch. We stayed elsewhere for a night after this and it really didn’t even compare to the location and comfort of the room. Don’t miss out on this during your trip to Ella :)

Great location in Ella, an amazing view from the room and balcony. Everyone there is so friendly and sweet. Short walk up the hill to the town. The only negative would be the noise from the road which is very close and busy most of the time.

Country Homes is an incredibly great place to stay in Ella. The owners and staff are super friendly, always helpful and try around the clock to make their guests stay as nice as possible. The rooms are amazing and have a breathtaking view. The breakfast (which is super delicious!) is brought directly to the room at the desired time. The accommodation has a great location, so you can be in the "city center" in a few minutes walk. Next time we will definitely come here again. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

We stayed for 2 nights & 3 days, the rooms were lovely and cozy. The bathrooms were also clean and hot water available all the time! Amazing views in such a peaceful environment. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Great location 10min walk to town.

We booked 3 rooms for 2 nights and it was a great stay with wonderful view. The rooms are very clean and all the amenities are provided. The staffs are very friendly also the owner is very humble and helpful. The room is very close to the town and everything is walking distance. We will definitely come back again

Stayed there for a night and the experience was mind blowing. The room was very spacious and the view from the balcony was next level. Breakfast was included in the booking and I really loved the food. Highly recommend

If you're in Ella, this is the place to stay! View from the balcony is amazing and you get your breakfast delivered to the balcony every morning. Super nice owner and staff, they even asked what we like best for breakfast and cooked us a free, homemade dinner for my birthday (which was so yummy!) and also gave us some avocados from their tree. Ella's main Street is only a 10 minute walk away and you will have the best view of ella Rock from your bed. Sometimes there's monkeys on the balkony which was fun to watch. Would stay here again anytime we're in Ella!

Super nice and helpful stuff. Awesome balcony view. Ella centre is about 5 min by foot using shortcut and 0,5 min by bike/tuk-tuk. Clean rooms and very tasty breakfast. Grand recommendation! One of the best places in SL.

Don’t get disappointed by entrance of this stay, you will be amazed once you step in to the room. A cozy wooden cottage with an amazing view. What else you need? Every morning you will get a fusion breakfast which is a mix of Srilankan and English. Room has all amenities with surround sound home theatre

After arriving late to Ella and being disappointed by a hotel that we had booked online, we found the family run Country Homes via Google Map and decided to take a chance. The sent a complementary tuktuk to pick us up. Don't be deceived by the appearance upon first arrival as we were. We ended up loving our stay! Room was super spacious and the view was superb. The boys who assisted us from check in to check out were very helpful and amazing. Complimentary breakfast was a mix of continental and Sri Lankan, sent every morning to the room balcony at the time of our choosing. Enjoy breakfast while you watch monkeys and squirrels from the safety of the balcony. Distance to the town is an easy 5-7 minute walk. Their house dog kept us company during breakfast and in the evenings. A few notes: Room didn't have a phone to call for any inquires. So if we needed anything, we'd have to walk down and up to get it. Could be hard if you have big luggage because of the steps, but the boys will assist you with carrying them to the room. Don't expect housekeeping everyday (which we didn't mind).

We had a very nice stay here. The family was very welcoming and they also helped us with the petrol problem. Definitely recommended. The rooms are also very nice 👍🏼
