Great outdoor picnic spot for residents of Munich and tourist for a peaceful timeout with kids to around. Not sure if you can do bbq if of your own but highly recommended place during Spring/Sumner times.

Sicher kein ruhiger Platz zum Entspannen am See aber für eine kurze Abkühlung bzw Kinder und Familien perfekt. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt, aber nur sehr eingeschränkte Gastro an einer Seite. Parkplätze gibt es an beiden Seiten. Viel los am See mit SUPs, Kayaks, etc. Auch eine gute Option zum Spazieren. Gute Anbindung durch U2 Messestadt und Riem Arcaden in ca 15 Min Laufentfernung.

Der See ist im Sommer als Freibadgelände deklariert. Das kapieren aber viele Hundebesitzer nicht und lassen ihre Lieblinge munter über alle Handtücher laufen. Ich frage mich immer wieder, was das für Menschen sind, die nichts Besseres zu tun haben, als mit so einer Kotschleuder im Ballungsraum die öffentlichen Grünanlagen zuzuscheißen.

Real nice inner-city lake, about a 7mins walk from the Ubahn station. Water is clean, swimming a must during the summer. Only downside: there is very little shade.

Schöner Park mit See um zu relaxen Im Sommer leider wenig Schatten, die Bäume sind noch zu klein und recht weit vom Seeufer entfernt. Wasser des Sees ist auch im Hochsommer sehr kalt. Weisser Kiessstrand an der einen Seite des Sees. Im Winter toll zum Spazieren gehen und auch zum Joggen ein schöner Park Schaukel mit Spielplatz für Kinder

Nice artificial lake, placed in a area that used to be part of Munich’s old city airport. Clear water, a nice place to gather with family & friends. The lake is also adequate for practicing stand up paddling.

Nice place for a picnic 🧺 and a break from the city. Pro: man made lake one can swim 🏊‍♂️ or enjoy the view at the beach. Cons: too crowded during weekends specially on sunny days.
