Sofitel
Wine
Days
are
back!
This
is
held
on
a
monthly
basis
at
The
Sofitel
Mumbai
BKC
and
I
was
lucky
to
be
a
part
of
one
at
Le
Bar
Diamantaire,
located
at
lobbey
level
next
to
Pondicherry
Cafe!
A
sit
down
multi
course
Italian
meal
with
Italian
wine
is
what
you
witness!
An
experience
unparalleled.
Sofitel
has
always
been
my
one
of
the
most
favourite
places
in
Mumbai
because
of
the
numerous
festivals
they
do.
But
the
food
tried
at
this
event
was
one
of
the
best
that
I
have
ever
had!
Every
course
had
its
own
wine,
started
with
couple
of
white
and
finishing
with
couple
of
red!
All
the
wines
had
been
specially
curated
and
imported
and
the
food
also
complemented
really
well.
You
have
Veg
as
well
as
Non
Veg
options,
so
one
can
choose
accordingly.
Talking
about
what
all
I
tried
at
Sofitel
Wine
Days
-
We
began
with
Almond
and
Goat
Cheese
as
Starters,
had
Zucchini,
Avocado
and
Mustard
Sauce.
The
non
veg
equivalent
to
this
was
Amaranth
Prawns.
This
was
served
with
the
first
wine
of
the
evening
-
Villa
Antinori
Bianco
-
white
wine.
A
perfect
way
to
begin
your
meal!
The
wine
aims
at
maximizing
the
Tuscan
character
of
the
wine
and
is
straw
yellow
in
colour
with
greenish
highlights.
It
is
still
wine
with
approx
12%
alcohol
by
volume.
Next
in
line
we
tried
the
Forest
Mushroom
Veloute
which
was
Truffle
Mousse,
Pine
nuts
and
brioche.
Absolutely
awesome
and
I
loved
the
taste!
Texture
was
thick
and
rich
in
flavour
and
aroma.
This
was
served
with
the
second
white
wine
of
the
evening
-
Antinori
Santa
Cristina
Pinot
Grigio.
The
wine
is
straw
yellow
in
colour,
the
wine
offers
fruity
and
delicate
aromas
of
pineapple,
green
apples
and
lemon.
The
wine
is
refreshing
and
has
approx
12%
alcohol
by
volume.
Moving
to
the
mains
-
we
first
had
the
Baked
Courgette
which
was
Duxelle,
Edamame
and
Parmesan
Risotto!
Again
an
awesome
dish
for
Mushroom
lovers.
This
was
served
along
with
the
first
red
wine
of
the
evening
-
Antinori
Santa
Cristina
Toscana.
For
non
vegetarians
there
was
Grilled
Seabass
(Risotto).
Wine
is
a
red
wine
from
Toscana,
Italy
and has
approx
12.5%
alcohol
by
volume.
Next
main
dish
was
Grilled
Polenta
which
had
red
lentil
ragout,
charred
leek,
fondant
potato
and
caramlised
onion
straw!
A
filling
dish
and
really
good!
I
preferred
Polenta
more
than
Baked
Courgette!
This
one
was
served
along
with
Antinori
Peppoli
Chianti
Classico,
the
last
wine
/
2nd
red
wine
of
the
evening.
Non
veg
equivalent
was
Braised
Lamb
Shank
with
same
ingredients.
The
wine
represents
the
Chianti
Classico
territory
and
it's
historic
grape
variety
with
typical
floral
and
fruity
aromas. Wine has
approx
13%
alcohol
by
volume.
We
ended
our
meal
with
one
of
the
most
amazing
desserts
-
Berry
Trail.
It
had
Raspberry
Parfait,
Blueberry
Jelly,
Blackberry
Chantilly,
Oats
Crumble
and
Berry
Chocolate
Crisps.
One
of
the
best
dessert
that
I
have
had
till
date!
Simply
awesome.
In
complete
awe
of
the
experience
at
Sofitel
Mumbai
BKC!
As
mentioned
earlier,
they
keep
doing
#sofitelwinedays
often,
almost
every
month
and
I
would
highly
recommend
everyone
including
all
wine
connoisseurs!
