Had paplet thali (1 bhakri/chapati/wade, paplet fry, gravy , rice, solkadi) , bombil fry , prawns fry and solkadi. It seems the gravy is common for all sea food items and they fish type is served fried. Overall it was good. Fish were fresh. Variety of sea food options available. A must try.

It's been one of our family's favorite joint for seafood for many years. We have eaten in the old set up and now the new set up too. Now it has become a hit amongst food lovers. It was Overcrowded as it was Sunday too. This time the experience wasn't that good as joy of eating peacefully was missing. . Standard set by Jai Hind is too high for years so we were disappointed as Food quality too has come down a little bit. But one thing that's improved is service. Staff is polite n accomodative.

I went here with family. Known for its malvani food, it never disappoints. They have revised their menu a few years back, so a lot of legacy dishes are not available now. We started with the prawns rawa fry. It's a dish you never go wrong with when you are here. Next was an experiment, stuffed bombil fry with kardi prawns. This blew our mind! Highly recommended. We tried their chicken masala fry and bheja masala fry with bhakhri. It came in the exact same gravy 😅 By this time, we were absolutely full. Though our little one wanted rice and chicken malwani gravy. So that was our final order. Again, it was really as per our expectations. We finished with a solkadhi a kokam and milk concoction with spices. It's good for digestion. This is a small family space with decent if not lavish interiors. The washrooms are small but clean. The staff was courteous and quick. The restaurant was full even on a weekday. It's popular amongst locals. Parking for cars here will be a problem, for bikes it's easy. This place does not have nor does it need a wheelchair accessible ramp. Pricing - For 3 adults and 1 kid, ordering 2 starters, 2 main course dishes, 1 rice and 2 aperitifs, we paid About Rs 1400. That's absolute value for money. I'd definitely visit this place again.

One of the best and renowned names in Dadar when it comes to Sea food and authentic Malwani food. Non-veg fans especially for Maharashtrian cuisine, its a must try restaurant.

They have maintained the taste across their branches. Though number of tables is limited the ambiance and feel of place is good. Food rates are reasonable. Expect a waiting queue on weekends as the food is tasty.

Soul satisfying sea food meals at Jai Hind. Have to mention that their Pomfret portion is consistently large unlike other places. Being a Mumbaikar, always a go to place when I visit Mumbai.

The place is good. general waiting time is around 15 minutes we have tried surmai , pomfret and prawns thali. Fish thalis were really tasty but prawns were just average. We also ordered veg dish along with naan which was also average in taste .

With proper social distancing they have arranged all the seating tables . This place has a variety of seafood dishes to order. The staff is very well trained and is cooperative. Service is quick and the quality if food is commendable. Would definitely suggest all the seafood lovers to try this restaurant.

Ordered from swiggy. That's all the crab you get in the name of crab masala. Humble request from a highly disappointed customer to kindly include the portion size in your menu. Terrible. Keeping a slice of onions on top to show how big the portion is. Not worth the money. Didn't look fresh either.

Good place for weekend lunch, clean ambiance, a bit cramped, and only opt for your regular fish thalis or chicken/mutton thali. Those are the best for price and satisfaction. Dont even try other new names on their menu card. Those are just experiments from their kitchen. The stuffed crab is just egg bhurji with onion inside a crab shell. Absolutely overpriced and awful taste.

Food: We ordered Rawas and made two different curries from it (konkan & Karnataka style) both were tasty alongwith neer dosa. Two things that we loved the most was Stuffed bombil and Solkadi. Pomfret fry was little pale, no spice at all. Overall, It's a decent place.

I have a fondness for Maharashtrian cuisine, especially Malvani, and Jai Hind caters perfectly to my taste. I prefer dishes with less coconut, and this place meets that preference. I recommend trying their thalis, offering a choice between Rice Bhakri or Chapati. The thali includes rice, sukkhat (dried prawns), thecha, and solkadi. The solkadi and dishes like pomfret and mutton sukha stood out, though the bheja sukha was average. Don't miss their specialty, stuffed bombil. Jai Hind is a great family-friendly spot for a satisfying Maharashtrian meal, offering a variety of options to please your taste buds.

A real konkan food joint. The bombil stuffed with prawns was out of the world. Solkadhi was really refreshing after a heavy lunch. Other dishes were typical Konkani food.

  • 4/5 Sheel T. 3 years ago on Google
The best place for sea food. Their prawns are just beyond expectations. Fish is always fresh and taste superb as always. The only problem is if you are visiting with a chicken or a mutton lover than this is not the place for you. Chicken and mutton options are very limited and do not taste upto the mark. They can be better. Conclusion a must visit place for all seafood lovers. Stuffed crab is a must try

While the place is really cramped, the food here is great. There is something for vegetarians too, but the sea food lovers will love this the most. This place continues to live up to its reputation of being a great sea food joint. The prawn and squid curries were outstanding.

I've reached while almost closing time but they were really helpful and took my order, Thought of having clams but instead ordered egg masala fry for neer dosa, It was really tasty combo and would definitely visit next time but not in a hurry to explore the varieties.

Awesome food is served here. Good place to go with family or friends. But there's always a waiting list during peak hours both during day and night. But the menu offered is best for seafood lovers typically if you belong to coastal regions of Maharashtra. You also get Goa and Karnataka dishes served here.

It was rushy during the night they took orders earlier outside but the food wasn't ready when we entered our table (Recommended:: resolve the AC leakage) Over all surmai thali was delicious but I prefer more spicy don't forget to taste Solkadhi

I went with my friends for birthday party. I expected a little bit from them after seeing the infrastructure of the restaurant. To be honest , it was one of the worst experience. The order given was delayed everytime. The quantity was way abysmal. Don't expect much quantity wise and all the dishes are overpriced.

  • 3/5 Rushal K. 1 year ago on Google
Avoid going on weekends it’s waiting time is almost 40 to 45 minutes the food was ok the fish thali has very much less items as compared to other restaurants.

  • 4/5 Pranav M. 2 years ago on Google
1.Prawns masala gravy was good, Prawns were small n of red type. While ordering specify White n mid size prawns as they are more tasty. 2. Tisrya masala gravy was awesome and Tisrya was fresh. 3. Surmai fry was good. 5. Bhakari wasn't prepared by only hand, Taste was good but that's not traditional Agari Bhakari. 6. Sol kadi was awesome and up to the mark. 7. Fish gravy was good. 8. Stuffed Bombil was delicious. 9. Ambience was great. 10. Sevice was fast. Overall good place for fish lovers.

Had heard about this place from many so gave it a try. We disliked it. There was waiting of about 20-25 mins. Service : Quick Food Quality : Good but not great Quantity : Very less Ambience: Nice Payment options : Digital/ Cash/ Cards. We had ordered Surmai Thali : 430 and just one big surmai fry, nothing in currey and rice was less too. Prawns lasooni : 500 for 6. Too pricy.

Had an average dining experience here . The restaurent was jam packed , a small table between the dustbin , counter and kitchen gate which gave a whole unpleasant vibe. The food was good 👍🏻 but not excellent . Ordered the stuffed bombil which was average , prawns 🍤 were good but solkadhi was surely below average.

One of the best seafood joints that I've ever come across. Weekend lunches at Jai Hind Lunch Home have become a norm for us! Some of our personal favourites include: 1. Kheema Thaali 2. Surmai Thaali 3. Bangda Fry 4. Agri Prawns 5. Pomfret Thaali Solkadi is a must try, to chug everything down. Fresh seafood, sumptuous delicacies, prompt service, and reasonable rates summarise our experience at this amazing restaurant. For avid seafood lovers, Jai Hind Lunch Home is the place!❤️

Cramped Space. But food is good. Not the best in class, as I have had better sea food at other places too, but this is not the worst either. Pomfret thali was at par. Good quantity of prawns in prawns thali. Food quality wise this outlet is better than the Kamali mills one. The best dish is Bombil Sandwich - a must try. Prawns koliwada comes a close second.
