I had a wonderful time BUT I took off two stars because of cleanliness and hygiene. Although my room was quite beautiful (single room), I had this issue of earthworms (and other similar insects) coming out in the bathroom repeatedly. I'm afraid of such pests and that made me feel disgusted. Also, the rooftop area is full of ants and not clean at all. One more issue with maintenance was that the AC kept dripping water entire time and so, one corner of the bed and floor was wet with water. Apart from this issue, everything else was perfect. The room was stocked with everything I needed and was exactly as they promise on their website. The cafeteria area was also quite good with enough seating for travellers. Overall, a great stay (but I would really love it if the pests issue can be addressed and if they can focus a bit more on maintenance).

It's a NO for me. Stayed at the single-room for an overnight transit between flights. The room itself seemed okay - although definitely in need of some fresh paint and maintenance - but it's odd shape (see pictures) and lack of ventilation made my stay extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom certainly could have been cleaner (the previous guest's soap wrapper was just sitting on the sill). Overall, it looked like an extremely unplanned and unsafe space, just made into a room to earn a quick buck. The sliding window opens into the corridor, so you can't really keep that open, especially when you're sleeping. Both pillow and blanket were musty; the blanket had certainly not been washed recently. My previous stay with Zostel Jaipur in 2017 was much better. But Zostel Mumbai has surely made me wary of this chain altogether.

Greeted by cockroaches, mosquitoes and insecure developers who just live there and the cafe is quite military base camp vibe with unnecessary musicians so you can’t work there and you can’t really move with the food which sucks, horrible for long term stay. Also the constant staring and leering isn’t great, possibly having more female employees can help control that. But the staff is quite decent. Also it’s not a safe area at night weird ghetto kids just hangout by the door to whistle and howl at women they need a security guard outside. The upper chill room doesn’t have proper ventilation. I think they should lower the room rent by 40% if this is the quality. Oyo level at max. Good for very short 1-2 day stays.

Hello guys .. I know not many may take it the ratings seriously .. but upto ur understanding .. I previously stayed in Rishikesh zostel and I was very happy with service due to which I opted zostel Mumbai which I realised is a mistake later. 1. Staff at reception — not welcoming and not worried about customers. 2. Cleanliness — if you been to any other zostel earlier , you would expect a lot more ( changing bed sheets after someone check out, tried asking them 3 times still got no luck ) if you are new to zostel , you will never opt zostel again. 3. Space - except çafetaria nothing was spacious ( as they made it completely commercial ) 4. Entertainment— You will not have access to games on rooftop ( only has tt nothing else ) which is accessible only from 10:30 PM( guessing rest of the time people have to sit in cafeteria and spend money ) 4. Washroom — god sake .. stayed in 6 sharing room MIXED one .. even if it’s only boys .. still a decline .. we had a lady there .. worst one … just degrading the name of zostel ( look at that video ) Opt for airbnb and even if it’s lill costly lemon tree and stuff as this is not with it .. ZOSTEL — you can do a lot better

It’s a hostel, but the rates are off the roof. Staff is okay okay, not actually compassionate, cafe is average but very overpriced, for example they are selling orange/watermelon juice for 150, even a simple water bottle they are selling for 30. When it comes to cold drinks they keep only imported items and sell them at 100 a piece. No option for breakfast included in the room fare, what bugged me the most is that I paid them approx 8k for 5 days, in which 1 day was private room costing 2.5k , but even after spending so much they did charge me for basic utilities like towel and water bottle. Simple philosophy is if you are charging over 800 per day, towel and water bottle should be included atleast. So overall it felt like it’s more directed towards making money than providing accommodation at cheap prices, a hostel.

The place was very untidy and unhygienic. The rooms were manageable, but bedsheets and pillow cases were really old and dirty. Right outside our window there was pit of garbage, no sunlight, mosquitoes, could barely open the window. The website obviously has fancy photos, but in reality it isn’t the same. Cafeteria was unhygienic. Wifi was working fine. Overall it was unpleasant experience and waste of money.

If you hate yourself, sure this place is for you to stay. Rude and mannerless staff. It feels as if they are doing us a favor for letting us stay at the cost of our money. It is a hostel trying to become a hotel but failing miserably

Zostel Mumbai is the worst Zostel branch in the entire India, trust me! I am sure most of the positive reviews here are fake ones. The dorm AC wasn't working a bit in the extreme hot and humid weather. The hostel manager behaved rudely, and mocked the customer for the complaint. The property owner, who came in later, used such derogatory language, literally treating me like a slave, just because they couldn't accept I complained about the ac. I have never seen anyone ruder in my entire life. They have zero community activities unlike some other beautiful Zostels in India where I have been to. Can't believe it, Zostel team.. such bad hospitality and such ill natured people as front office holders, that too in a city like Mumbai?

The place is centrally located. But has really poor service and very rude staff. There is a lot of stuff ACs, furniture, and random hostel stuff just lying on the floors. No dental kit in toiletries of room, but expensive lotions, shampoos and facewashes are available The two kids at the front desk are supremely irresponsible and leave even managing the bills and stuff to the guest, poor vibe. Anyways, the beer and hookah served under the table to make quick bucks by the front desk folks is appreciated. Kudos to this service without license unlike any other Zostel. You may find other stuff too. Ciao !

I booked separate room which was neat, clean and spacious. The property seems to be little older as the door knobs and bathroom faucets were broken. The cafe/canteen area is good with proper relaxation seatings, wifi availability and charging ports. Currently, they are having limited menu(veg/non-veg)which is same for everyday and the serve delicious food.Outside food is also allowed till 15th april 2022. They do also have separate area available for workation for which charges are 99 INR for 8 hours/day with proper internet connectivity. The common area looks very clean in pictures available online, but it wasnt much in reality. There is separate area for smoking, still cigarette buds are easily seen at many common places. Additionally, there is no dedicated parking places for two and four wheeler. Overall okay place to stay overnight(or for a day), will recommend to book separate room instead of dorms.

Zostel has been my best hostel experience till date. It felt like a home away from home. The staff is really friendly and they make sure you have everything you need. Mumbai is a melting pot of cultures and people, and you get a sense of that at Zostel. And when you meet the right people with whom you can chill and hang out, your stay at the hostel turns out to be completely worth it. You are in for a reasonable and comfortable stay, and you are sure to go back with a suitcase of memories and laughter. I can't wait to be back!

I have been to Zostel Mumbai for a very first time. This was my first solo trip. I was very excited and nervous at the same time. After returning from the trip, I can say this was my best trip. It’s a perfect place for solo travelers. The location is great, good cafes and eateries are nearby. The staff is very friendly, they can solve all your problems in a jiffy. Special Mention - Sameer (He resolved all my issues and also helped me in extension for my bookings) 🤩.You won’t get bored even if you don’t step out because they have rooftop (Common area) which none can dislike, Cafeteria was also perfect. I really loved it..

The management there at the Zostel is so unprofessional. They don't even know how to treat people. Here are a few incidents to prove this: 1. Just after landing at Mumbai Airport, I enquired if there is a possibility of an early check-in otherwise I could do something else. To they said I can come, and after arriving there, they didn't even check me in for 4 straight hours. To my cross-questioning why is it so, they said that since I am arguing with them they won't give me the room soon! wow?? 2. Also, there was renovation going on, and to cover up they said a mail has been sent to all the persons who booked, but I didn't even receive any single communication in this regard. 3. They said that the renovation work would be over in 2 days, and it took them 20 days to get that completed. Who in the world set such poor expectations? 4. The place smells so bad, there is dog's loo all around and they don't even clean up the mess that the renovation workers create. 5. constant noise is always there, you can't even go to the common area since there isn't any common area. 6. The lockers don't work, and you will always feel insecure about placing your stuff. 7. The flush and shower don't work properly, there's water leakage. 8. Also the soap dispenser doesn't work properly. Even after complaining they just fill up the dispenser and do nothing. 9. There are Mumbai localites in the hostel rather than travelers. The only reason why you go for a hostel is to get a backpacker's vibe and meet travelers. You won't find any. There are people who are staying there for months just because they didn't find a suitable flat yet. In my opinion, go for some other hostel than Zostel.

Great place for a comfort stay. The people and the service are really good. The canteen was my favourite place to eat, work and chill. It's clean, the people are friendly and helpful and the food is tasty and affordable. I stayed here for a month and got attached to the place and the people (including their dog and a neighbourhood cat).

This was my first Zostel experience, recommended by my brother. 👏 👍Best place to stay in North Bombay for everyone young people or old people just everyone it's near to the airport so makes your transfer to and from airport very easy. *Pros: Room experience was good, well maintained rooms with ample facilities. You can interact with anyone so easily, ask for directions or just talk about life. Café was good and so was it's food 🍲 and vibe was great. *Cons: Smoking area was in the passage that connects the rooms to cafe and go outside (Not everyone likes to smoke or it can be uncomfortable for someone who doesn't smoke) Loved the first experience... Good for a short stay for sure.

This place feels and looks very good. First of all the locality is far from the Mumbai typical tourist places like the marine drive etc . . Still if you have to enjoy the silence and work without the hustling and bustling of Mumbai , this can be a good option. Other options like food are good , room is little shrunk but decent enough for stay. The staffs respond very well.Very good zostel but still many things can be improved.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The overall structure is pretty good. You get a very good "Mumbai" vibe. The cafe also is really good for quick snack as well as heavy lunch or dinner at very very reasonable prices. It has a rooftop area where we can chill with our friends. Overall the best place to stay in North side of Mumbai.

This property offers zero service. They have pathetic terms and conditions which may not be acceptable for the guest who deserves minimal service from the hotel. Like we paid advance for the booking , And when we reached the hotel we wanted to see the room first but they denied to show and also asking to pay the rest of the amount. Now we had to go as per their terms because we already had paid in advance. After that they don’t offer any service to the room. Like if you are ordering anything from their cafeteria you have to go yourself place the order and take it to your room. There are many others service related issue. All i want to tell that if your trip is business or personal. Don’t expect that you get anything thing straight to your room. After paying good money you have to do all yourself.

Hi guys, Sometimes you end up at a place out of curiosity. Just to check out what the vibe of the place is. And i visited Zostel Mumbai in 2021 for the first time. My stay was only for three days, but I ended up extending for another ten days because I loved the place so much. Although I didn't have a reservation, the reception guys were very helpful and found me a place every single day. They were so good at their job that I can't stop appreciating their commitment to ensure that my stay was comfortable. What is more important is that the washrooms were clean beyond my imagination, and with the jolly good company of other roommates, it was always a pleasure to come back to Mumbai Zostel. And that is how I've been coming back time and again as I find it a lovely place to hang out. Also, it's got a nice restaurant where people work or just idle away their time munching on the different varieties of food that is on offer. In recent times I have stayed in Zostel Delhi, and it was okay. But it definitely didn't have the liveliness of Zostel Mumbai. I am coming back again on the first of May for a couple of days. And I am sure I'm going to have a gala time out there. Thank you for the warm hospitality Zostel Mumbai 🙏

If u are on a solo trip then this place is the best… rooms / washrooms are clean.. Cafeteria is cool.. good food… not very expensive.. one can work from there while listening to good music.. only suggestion is the rooftop (chilling zone) can be improved.. it doesn’t really give that “rooftop” vibes

Stayed here multiple times. Location: Centrally located, close to International Airport and Business district of Andheri East. Property/Rooms/Suites: Variety of options to choose from based on your requirement- shared, dorm, privates. Clean and well equipped with necessary amenities. Also comes with cafeteria, common socializing area and coworking space. Staff/Hosts: Very cooperative and always there to help. Be it early checkin, restaurant suggestions or any other help. Would like to stay at this place and recommend if they're visiting Mumbai and looking for a good safe place to stay.

Had an amazing experience here at Zostel, Mumbai. The hosts are kind and helpful. The rooms and washrooms are always clean and tidy. Cafeteria offers a lovely vibe. Not to forget the work station that provides you a quiet space to be able to attend all your meetings peacefully.

I had an amazing experience staying at Zostel! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location is fantastic; it's centrally located and within walking distance of many attractions. The view from my room was breathtaking, and I couldn't have asked for a better spot to explore the area. The staff at Zostel were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their local recommendations and knowledge of the area really enhanced my trip. Overall, I had an unforgettable experience at Zostel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and social place to stay.

The room has six beds and an attached bathroom. It was neat and the staff was extremely polite and helpful :-D ps. the cafe there was a bit pricy than outside (99₹ for an omlette shocked me lol)

I booked a 2 sharing dorm and reached 5hrs early before my scheduled check in time. My room was unavailable but they were kind enough to accommodate me in a 6 sharing dorm for those 5hrs. However some 600-700 odd early check in charges for those 5hrs for a 6 sharing dorm felt on the higher side. The room however was really clean and the bunker beds came with individual lockers. The place had a pleasant vibe and as a solo traveller you cannot ask for anything better. Although I have one complaint, coming from Southern part of India many of us are used to having bucket/mugs in the bathrooms. Just shower and faucet/tissues felt unhygienic especially since it's a shared dorm. It'd be good if you guys included that in the bathrooms.

Yo, staying in this hostel is lit! The vibes are chill, roommates are dope, and the late-night hangs are epic. The food's decent – not gourmet, but gets the job done. Overall, it's a solid place to crash and make some unforgettable memories.

I had a private room which was pretty good. It had all the basic needs. The hostel has its own restaurant which is very convient and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location for my needs was great and there is a constant flux of rickshaws to bring you to your destination.

The theme, the rooms, the overall experience is great. They have taken care of very small things which makes it a very comfortable out there. A pocket friendly and convenient place to stay. Apart from the fact that the location is a bit interior, it is one of best places in Mumbai I've stayed in a long time

  • 4/5 Bharath K. 5 months ago on Google
It’s good value. The staff was very professional and friendly. We’d appreciate it if the friend zone wasn’t that loud during the sleeping hours. And some guidance to solo travellers to maintain a better dorm etiquette like not talking when others are sleeping at night. Everything else was good.

Zostel Mumbai offers a vibrant and comfortable stay with its modern amenities and lively atmosphere. The hostel's prime location allows easy access to popular attractions and transportation. The dormitories are clean, and the common areas encourage socializing among guests. The staff is friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming environment. However, improvements in noise insulation could enhance the overall experience. Overall, Zostel Mumbai is a solid choice for budget travelers seeking a dynamic stay in the heart of the city.

The room was clean, well-appointed, and featured modern amenities. The hotel's central location made it convenient for exploring the city. The on-site restaurant offered delicious dining options, and the overall atmosphere was both welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

I had booked an 8 bed mixed dorm & was honestly impresses with the level of hygiene & quality. The beds were neat & you have a quilt + storage space in the bunker of the bed with a lock. There was an AC which was great at the price point. The washroom was well maintained and was neat enough to take a shower. My interaction with folks here was very interesting and made a lot of new friends. Overall it's a great experience, I was travelling for work but would definitely opt for a Zostel in any other location. Cheers!

I had a fantastic experience at Zostel Mumbai. The 8-bed mixed dorm I booked exceeded my expectations in terms of hygiene and quality. The beds were neatly made with a quilt and ample storage space under each bunk, secured with a lock. The presence of AC at the given price was a definite plus. The washroom was well-maintained, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for showering. Beyond the facilities, the engaging interactions with fellow guests allowed me to make new friends, adding to the overall enjoyable stay. Although my trip was for work, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Zostel in any other location. Highly recommended! Cheers!

This is one of the most comfortable and budget stays in this area. Booked a private room which was clean and comfortable. They have a little cafe inside which serves average food. Area is accessible but if you are taking your own car then remember this is open parking with no assured safety.

The place can be considered the best hostel you can find in Mumbai. There is good campus space. The rooms, washroom size and the cleanliness of the rooms could have been a little better. But the stealer of the show was the cafeteria area along with a superb cafeteria (top notch), where the food is literally and I say literally awesome. The seating area is both great and happening. It is also a good option for working individuals especially who is doing workation as there is a superb workstation. The price as with all real estate problems of the most populous city is at its peak. The location is great, at the heart of the city. There is regular activity in the hostel every evening.

You don't find the vibe of a regular Zostel. It's sort of any commercial hostel set-up (and a big one) Cleanliness is not so great No activities to connect with people Food and rooms not so great Have good internet though if you want to work from there.

The accomodation is quite big A large number of beds available Separate dorms available for girls Cafe area is good Roof top area has a dull Vibe. Beds in dorms have no curtains hence no privacy. This was my first stay in any of the Zostels in India, and it was definitely a let down. Right from the check-in, they were extremely slow (and did not offer early check-ins.) The vibe of the place was the only saving grace for this property. The major drawback of the property is definitely the location, it's definitely located in an interior location and it takes a while to get cabs/autos. Now coming to the room, I had booked a private stay in a deluxe room. The room was quite good and had all the amenities that one would expect. They have a cafeteria on site, but unfortunately I wasn't able to try that out. So would I stay in Zostel Mumbai again? Probably not.

Best part was cleanliness & personal safety. However, there were no lockers, we can avail a lock for ₹50 from reception or handover extremely valuable things at reception while going out. Also, it is to be noted that there is only one washroom in each dorm. Ps. The canteen was fine. I had a cold & i could avail hot water from them at no cost :)

4 stars because the cleanliness standards are just fine. Not top class. But that’s okay I think. Otherwise a good option if you want to explore staying in a hostel. Good vibes, friendly hostel mates and good staff

Best stay for travellers. The property is well maintained. But it is difficult to get a booking, so try doing it in advance. I had a great experience, made so many new friends.

This Zostel property was not upto the mark. There were cleanliness issues, internet issues and the room - we booked a suite which was not worth the price paid AT ALL. It is a very tiny room and it doesn't even look like a hotel or hostel. There is a whole neighborhood from entrance to the room. Not well maintained. Would recommend you to book a decent 3 star instead of Zostel.

I have been frequently visited this zostel in marol. It is the best place you can get in this price and area. It has its cons and pros but over it is good for people who are, either travelling or coming for work. 1. Food quality can still be improved a little bit. 2. They do their best to keep the rooms and washrooms maintained. 3. You can get bedsheets changed on request, if you are staying for longer. 4. It has good connectivity with western line and metro line. 5. The visitors are usually either students or bachelors visiting the city for job or pleasure.

A good property with very clean rooms having all basic necessities that one would need. Proper wifi. Kettle for coffee tea. Bathroom accessories. Linen and towels are clean. Overall it’s a good location close to airport. A better option for people travelling to Mumbai.

One of the best hotels and dormitories I've ever been too. Zostel stands up to its reputation. The location is also perfect, it's just 15-20 minutes away from the airport. The canteen is miserable tho, please don't order anything from there.

Zostel never disappoints the travelers with the stay. You get the best bed, with a cool ambience, a great cafeteria and a separate rooftop room for indoor games and to spend some time with everyone and play loud music with the door closed. The staff are polite and they treat you well. One can never be disappointed with the zostel.

The room came with a nice attached bathroom with hot water and a great shower. Also the food at the Cafe and the staff at the property were awesome. Although the music in the cafe was too loud sometimes that it was literally making it impossible to talk or relax.
