We
went
to
this
lovely
place
(in
Powai)
for
lunch.
The
restaurant
is
unique
in
the
sense
that
it
offers
specialised
cuisine
from
few
selected
states
of
India,
namely
Kashmir,
Bihar
and
other
North
Indian
States.
The
welcome
drink
was
also
refreshingly
different;
Kashmiri
Kahwa.
The
menu
is
really
exhaustive
but
the
staff
extended
help
to
select
right
combinations
and
special
items.
For
starters,
we
had
ordered
Patthar
ke
kabab,
Fish
Kobiraji
and
Galouti
Kabab.
Kobiraji
was
not
of
highest
standard,
if
one
compares
with
the
quality
available
in
Kolkata
but
the
other
two
were
superb.
The
kababs
were
soft
and
melted
in
the
mouth.
We
opted
for
Daab
Chingri,
Champaran
Mutton,
Murg
Musallam
and
Karare
Bhindi
ki
Raita
along
with
rice
and
assorted
breads.
All
the
items
were
outstanding
but
Champaran
Mutton
was
easily
the
best
dish
by
a
fair
distance.
The
flavours
were
distinctly
discernible
and
the
quality
of
mutton
was
just
perfect.
The
rotis
were
also
nice
except
the
garlic
naan
which
we
found
to
be
having
too
much
of
dressing.
Kashmiri
roti
was
also
pretty
good.
All
the
items
combined
equally
well
with
rice
and
roti.
Of
course,
the
Daab
Chingri
must
be
taked
with
plain
white
rice.
The
prawns
were
absolutely
fresh
and
just
a
hint
of
saffron
in
the
gravy
made
it
extra
special.
For
desert,
we
asked
for
Pista
Jam
Pie,
a
perfect
way
to
wind
up
the
lovely
meal.
By
the
way,
Taftoon
has
a
lovely
bar
which
offers
lovely
cocktails
and
mocktails
apart
from
other
standard
drinks.
One
could
try
Coconut
Almond
Batida,
it
was
very
nice.
Overall
the
dining
experience
was
awesome.
The
restaurant
has
a
lovely
ambience,
very
well
behaved
and
courteous
staff
and
nice
seating
arrangements.
It
would
certainly
need
a
number
of
visits
to
taste
other
delicacies
but
that
would
mean
a
fairly
big
hole
in
one's
pocket.
The
place
is
expensive
but
definitely
worth
it.
