Wonderful place, really friendly staff and cook. They try their best to accommodate you. Met some wonderful people from Spain, Slovakia, Japan, Nepal, Indonesia, all in the matter of a night! Security: decent, but everything I left around was just where it was the next morning. Safe enough. People: the people coming here range from students to couples to working professionals. Staff: very friendly and helpful. Cost: worth the money, and very cheap- includes Wifi (really fast, no buffering) and breakfast for under 750 bucks (~$12).

Stayed here for two nights, great experience. Rooms were clean, most staff were super friendly, breakfast in the morning was good, and the location is okay as well (15 minutes from a metro station). Loved the red lights for people who are sleeping. AC was nice and cool, wifi worked well. Bathrooms could benefit from a bit of an upgrade.

A nice place for Solo travellers. I believe the ambience and hospitality of Bombay backpackers is unparalleled, I was there for 4 days, staff was helpful, no disturbance and good food along with dedicated dorm rooms of 6 beds and 8 beds. No separate female dorms. There are 3 washrooms and in which 2 are common. There are bed boxes so one can secure their luggage in it regardless you should bring your own lock, toiletries, towel, slippers. A good and inexpensive laundry service is offered. There is aqua-guard, induction, washing machine, drying area and iron table. The hostel has a common room and free internet, which was largely dependent on the numerous power cuts (not the fault of the hostel but the city municipality) that happened as to whether it was working. Mostly foreign nationalities are there and it's so awesome to interact with them over a game of junk or like playing guitar and signing together. Thanks for a dedicated living room for that, for smokers there is a smoke room too and the bathroom are also very very good, hygienic, and clean all the time. The best part was the theme of the dorm which resembles the typical Mumbai streets and food. The hostel recommends a good takeaway service from a restaurant nearby. I recommend the afghan mutton and special rice! Its within 20 minutes walk of the Train Station (Kurla), just time the use of the train when it isn't rush hour as the trains get packed very quickly and sometimes dangerously so. Major food outlets like burger king and McDonald's are 5 min walking from there (Bandra Kurla complex) Located just opposite to the equinox business centre so no problem in locating it.

Super comfortable beds and a neat and clean hostel. Mostly all travellers from all over the world, good place to meet people. Free breakfast and very good wifi. Common area is a nice place to chill. Location is convinient and train and tuk tuk available around. The big mall is just 2 mins in the tuk tuk.

I had a 3 night stay at this hostel. The best part are some of the guests staying here long term. Wifi is great. Breakfast was ok. Location is not great but the shopping mall nearby is the best in the city! Cleanliness is questionable. The room (taxidorm 6 person) I stayed in was essentially a wide hallway/corridor that people used to pass through to get to the common area. Staff, namely Sanjee is great. Train (10INR) is a 10 minute walk and the street to walk to Kurla station is chaotic. Many Buses (20INR) 30ltd, 25ltd, 22ltd, 7ltd run by the front door of this hostel that (20INR) will drop you off close to all the museums and India gate. If arriving in Mumbai to Bandra terminus station I would recommend taking bus 303 or 310. 303 will drop you off 1 block away whilst 310 will drop you off right in front of the hostel.

Don't be fooled by the exterior. The hostel is located next to the slums but the interiors and the people who work there are very good. The rooms are small and there is not much space between each bunk but it is good enough if as a place to sleep for the night. The bathrooms are also well maintained. You get to meet a lot of people from different parts of the world and it isn't very far from the airport. I would definitely recommend this place if you need a place to crash for the night after a busy day of roaming around the city.

Its a small place but clean and decent one for a quick short stay. The place is exactly as shown in the pics. Moreover well mannered staff ,fair charges and good commuting options available easily right at the doorstep. A mini hostel similar to youth hostels around the globe.I would recommend.

An absolutely brilliant hostel. Wonderful staff make this already well set up hostel one of the best I’ve stayed in. A good kitchen is really nice touch. The dorm rooms are very clean and as with the rest of the hostel aesthetically pleasing. All rooms have A/C. Would highly recommend this hostel over all others in Mumbai

The overall experience at this place turned from average to good thanks to Prateek who is one of the staff members here. He was very friendly and helpful and a person for great conversations. The place Bombay Backpackers does look ugly from outside but from inside its quite liveable. Not that well maintained but an average place compared to other hostels I have stayed at. There was water problem for the first day of my stay but later was solved and everything was fine. Its a small hostel everything packed in one floor and no open area to chill and no terrace as well. The location is fine and Kurla station is just 900meters walking distance. Other modes of local transport are also easily available. It was a good experience meeting people from different countries and socializing.

Easy access from main road. But don't expect too much cleanliness

A nice place for solo Travellers. Even if you are traveling in a group it's a nice place in budget. No separate female dorms. There are 2 washrooms which are common. Smoking area is there too. Best hotel( hostel, Dorm) I have ever stayed by far. The best part is you can stay for cheapest fare and with very clean environment. You can read books, play indoor games, cook own food, listen music, watch TV talk to other tourist across the world. It's totally worth for young people at heart.
