Best value for money restaurant in near vicinity in Chembur. Karnataka veg meals (buffet), fresh & tasty, served on banana leaf, for price of 90. Don't be perplexed by look and feel of entrance and shed where its operating, you won't be disappointed by the food and quality inside. They only serve this veg meals (no other dish, no menu), kindly note.

Visited this place near 3 pm have a lot of rush, and got 15 min to get sit. Step by step they serve nearly 12-13 items on the banana leaf. The best part was served hot roti and also three vegetables are there. Every day vegetables are changed and you can check it on Google also. Hot Rasam was awesome...

The best home made food available at the cheapest price inclusive of GST. Not only it's very neat and tidy, the food taste is awesome. The food is not too spicy or too bland, and won't at anytime upset your digestive system. And they serve you proactively and always ask you what you need.

Finally visited the place, after reading about this place for umpteen times. Most VFM place ever. For just 100rs, you get so much variety of food. And with zero compromise on hygiene and quality - everything was prepared with soooo much care ie extra oil overflowing in veggies etc. Totally must visit.

Jeevan Boarding House is a Mangalorean run limited meal served on a banana leaf restaurant. The crowd is majorly BMC people from the nearby office. The food is satvik and doesnt have too much spices and stuff. Its not a complete south indian thali and is tailor made for people around here which is a good thing. They serve a poriyal, a gravy and Dal as seen in the pictures and give you sambar and rasam in small cups. With it you also get a sweet dish, papad, chapati and rice. Im giving 4 star only because it gets too busy in the lunch and dinner time and the staff is quite lazy on the floor, which slows down the service. The owner is a sweet guy who will indulge in a good conversation with you. All in all, a hidden gem of Chembur and Must Try.

Its social service - No less, How else can you justify a wholesome, Hygienic, healthy, homely and tasty food for a meagre amount of Rs.85/- The taste of some of the offerings here can transport you to the divine temple food in southern India. Located in one isolated corner of a compound of a bustling market do not evince a lot of confidence. But, once you are there, the food will beckon you. @ Rs. 85/-The owner for sure has the heart that can dwarf an “Antilia”

Have ordered their food for almost 100-120 times online, but I have to say the in-place experience of food is much more appealing. Banana leaf used for serving the food is the most attractive yet authentic aspect of their approach. The food is very traditional yet absolutely appetizing. Only one output when you visit here, Stomach and Satisfaction level = Full.

    • J E E V A N • B O A R D I N G • H O U S E • I often visit here when there is no food cooked at home 🏡. Value for money 💰✓ Attentive staff ✓ Quality food ✓ Worth your effort ✓ Wash basin available ✓ Prompt service ✓ No washroom × A complete meal 💯 They dont just serve food but deliver SATISFACTION. I personally thanked the owner with a namaste after having the thali they served. Fresh hot chapatis, freshly cooked rice (no soda), delicious sambar, Pickles, chass (butter milk), sweet kheer and papad, makes this thali a magically wholesome meal. It adds to its flavour after being served on a banana leaf. Waiter Jai Bahadur was attending to us and was very prompt, courteous and helpful with a smile on his face while doing so. Loved it! Highly recommended! Nourishment & satisfaction guaranteed.

Just beside chembur railway station lies this perfect place for a quick filling lunch / dinner. neat and tidy place, attentive staff, fabulous south indian food. They accept only cash / UPI payments. The food menu is fixed for the day and will be served in a banana leaf. 3 curries , 3 rotis , chutney pickle papad, rice ghee dal , sambhar curd and sweet. All this for 90 rs. Rice quantity is huge and the whole meal experience is very fulfilling. Gravies are south Indian based , mildly spiced and light on your tummy. The dishes that come in bowls will be charged extra ( 7 rs) but the quantity is enough in the first place if you ask me. This place is slowly becoming our Sunday lunch ritual as the whole banana leaf meal with appalam and sambhar is too close to our heart (We r mallus). May this place keep serving such yum healthy food like it's been doing for the past several years!

This is one of the best lunch home service available in Chembur area. They procide delicious and authentic South Indian Veg Thali. The food is served on banana leaf. Serving since 1962. The service is quick, however during peak time you may have to wait for 15-20min to get a table. So plan accordingly. The wait is definitely worth it. The best thing - they serve unlimited food.

Absolutely amazing. Remind you, there is no unlimited meals. But everything you add on is chargeable bare minimum. If you choose the basic thali or meals, it has 2 chapati, rice, 3 sabji palya, curd, sweet , unlimited sambar, Rasam and two more curry. It is light food and very cheap and cost less than 100. Around 90 bucks. The owner is very amazing guy and very warm, talks very politely. Que is expected of 10 mins. But must try place

If you're looking for a simple, wholesome and homely fare, then Jeevan is the right place to go to in Chembur. I've been eating here quite regularly (and have never experienced any tummy trouble ☺️). The fare is limited but healthy. But yes...if you're looking for ambience, then give it a miss. As for me, I'd prefer Jeevan to any other simply because it is wholesome.

This is a no frill restaurant and has a very simple south indian style thali served on a banana leaf. It doesn't trouble your stomach at all due to less spices and is easy on pocket too costing Rs 90/- per thali. Definitely recommended if you are around Chembur station.

this is a true hidden gem in chembur which not many may even know about. its right next to an open plot adjacent to sadguru (chembur rly stn one). this is a place for those who crave true home like food. this is a very old joint that serves only thalis, the prices have increased over the years but the quality has remained the same. for about 60 rs you get rice, sambar, dal, sabzi both wet and dry, rasam, chapati and cup of curd. they even serve chaas.the sambar and rasam are unlimited the food is very hygienic and is prepared the manglorean way with very very little oil. do give it a try.

  • 4/5 Nishant B. 1 year ago on Google
The food was served on a banana leaf and they have a standard thali for Rs 90. The thali had 4 veggies, dal, Sambhar, Rassam, 2 chapattis and Rice. Curd and Payassam were served as well. The best thing about the food is that it has very little oil and feels light. The spices are light as well and for spice lovers they would need to add pickle to enhance the flavour. Can be tried once.

Good place for people who like to have white rice any time in the day. Meal served with 1 desert, 1 chutney, 1 cup of rice, 2 chapatis, 4curries, dal, sambar, rasam and curd with papad. Reasonable prices.

Had a satisfying, hygienic and healthy food over banana leaf. The quality of food items seemed homelike, without any traces of oil over gravy and sabji. The value being provided for the money you pay is tremendous. What could improve? Maybe taste! But not a big issue.

Visited Jul 2023. Def one of the best thalis in Mumbai. All of Rs 90! Place is clean, staff and owner very pleasant, food is home style, tasty and healthy. See attached pics.

Very tasty and healthy food. Very economically priced. The owner, Mr. Naresh, an Electronics Engineer, a very humble and modest person, is contended with the margin he gets and counts the satisfied customers going out of the restaurant with a full stomach and happy smile, as the major portion of his profits. With service and quality food at very affordable rates, Jeevan Boarding House, Chembur ,stands out………Cheers and Best Wishes. Rajan Sarma.
