We love finding little off the wall pizza shops and restaurants while we travel. My aunt from Indiana told us to go there the pizza was terrific. The atmosphere is out of an old rustic lodge and very very friendly. The pizza was out of this world.

Came in expecting more "pizza with a pub" but it's five stars if you instead consider it more "pub with good pizza." Have been meaning to check this place out for a while. Stopped in for lunch on a whim one sunny Tuesday afternoon. I was in a good mood prior, and in a great mood after. Was greeted by Jake’s friendly service and attentive attitude. Great guy to have working the bar. I ordered Bill’s Special and one of the locally-brewed beers they had on tap. Came out quick. Everything tasted good. Good stuff! I can’t fight the urge to say though: as a Waukegan native, Double D’s at Jester’s has to keep the throne for my favorite double decker pizza (even if Bill's did invent it… and I haven’t even tried it here yet lol). Thanks, guys!

My husband saw this place on TV! He saw the double decker pizza & he wanted to go for his birthday. We drove from Chicago. He loved it! He loved the double decker pizza, the drinks & asked me to give them a 5 star. I recommend the garlic bread with cheese, it's delicious! We ended up ordering 2 orders! The fries weren't good. The chilli is a good size because I like small dishes. The chilli was a 3 star. Service was fast & pleasant. Thank you to our waitress. The girl's bathroom was really clean. I like it a lot that they try to make it welcoming!!! There was a bench & real flowers. When the waitress gave us our bill, the receipt had a link to pay online. I loved it!!! Very simple steps.

Had a fantastic meal here. Double decker veggie pizza was without a doubt some of the best pizza I have ever had. Our server Lynda treated us like we were guests in her home. Simply wonderful, couldn't recommend this place enough.

Absolutely love the double decker pizza here! One of the few places to offer this style, and cook it so it still has a crispy crust. Sides are great. I was a little disappointed in the portion size of the fried mushrooms. But all in all, this location is timeless with the decor, the overall vibe, and the great food.

Had this place recommended by three separate people when we moved nearby so had to try it out. Thin crust is good, 7.4, double decker is where the magic is at tho. Overall good quality ingredients and obviously a lot of skill from years of practice means pizza so good even when I got a couple burned pizzas no one complained. Attached used to be 2 larges

When in the Chicago area - you have to get pizza! I ordered delivery (through the Slice app) and Bill's definitely delivered! The very nice gentleman who brought my pizza made sure to warn me it was hot - and it was. As if straight from the oven. It was baked to perfection. Cheese melty, crust perfect, veggies in the perfect ratio and distributed properly. (We all know how important that is for a perfect pizza!) Will definitely get more when back in the area!

Erik R...you responded to my wife's review from 2/26. Wrong order, cold pizza,waited 1.5 hours. We grew up on Bill's. He knew us from coming in so much back in the day. We know he would be so disappointed in the service and quality of the food. We have been going there since the 60's. The prices are outrageous. The mushrooms we had..OLD oil. Where is the integrity of the business? Let alone the quality? So disappointed. No one even offered appetizers on the house due to the issues we had. So very disappointed. I hope you can stay In business. Sad to see such a well know establishment going down the tubes. Best of luck to you. I don't forsee a very good future.

This was my second time coming back to this restaurant and man things changed drastically..and in a very bad way..first when ordering over on the phone more than half of their menu is not available because a shortage they are having..they don’t even have peanuts in stock..when my boyfriend came back with the food, his chili bowl was only 2/3 filled up!!! Not only that but the wings had no flavor what so ever. Very disappointing for the price of $20. This place used to be a great place and we thought it would be great to support local small businesses but this was a very bad experience. Hope they do something different or it’s going to go down hill very fast.

Loved their outdoor setup!! Large open space with the lake in view and pretty lights, I didn't even see the inside. Waitress was sweet, but maybe she was overbooked as it seemed we were forgotten. We got Bills special and meat lover's pizza. Both were tasty, and I would get them again, but I was not blown away. We got the cheddar fries. These were basic and the portion small. They only give you a small cup of cheese, maybe ask for extra cheese. Overall, it was a nice experience 😌

I came specifically for their "double decker" pizza which I saw on Chicago's must trys (which meant a 2 hr drive) . It was shown to be alot thicker on TV than it actually was. It is essentially 2 thin crust pizzas. Despite that! It was really delicious! 👍 The staff was extremely kind! And I would describe the wait to be medium long. 👍

Classic vibes and decor but uninspiring pizza. The shells in the floor peanuts are a retro touch. We had good service on a Friday at 5:45, were seated fairly quickly and had drinks in hand quickly too. The dinner salads were tasty with cool heirloom tomatoes. The pizza was cracker thin and crispy but the sauce just didn’t do anything for us so overall it was just fine but we’ve had better pizza locally. Nothing against Bill’s - just not our thing. We had the thin crust four cheese pizza.

Very good single crust as well as double crust. Be aware that this place still does the peanuts on the floor. Not a problem for me, but it would be for some. They do have very nice (and large) patio dining though. Our waitress was a doll and the drinks (though rather expensive for their size) were very good. Nice old "hunting lodge" vibe.

This place is amazing! The food is really great! Even though I love NYC pizza the best this place was a great runner up!

Went to bills on a Saturday afternoon with my family and we're pretty much the only ones at the restaurant. Our food took about 45 minutes after we ordered. The chicken in the salad was cold and tastes like it was cooked the previous day. The burger pattie was cold and was not cooked as ordered. It felt like we were more of an inconvenience than a valued customer. I had high hopes because the location in GraysLake is very nice. Overall the wait for the kind of food we ordered was a little ridiculous. It seemed like they made our order and left it.

I'm so happy our favorite server is back we where there on Sunday and she was playing with my kids I love the fact that she goes above and beyond to make our dining experience more enjoyable. I know her name is Amanda I believe her last name starts with an f. I just absolutely love her and hope to see her more often when we go back. She is honestly the bee's knees. And my kids love her and haven't stopped talking about her playing bags with them makes my heart melt

Placed an order for Caesar salad with chicken. Spent almost $25. Forgot to give me chicken and salad looks like it was prepared 3 weeks ago. I will never order from this place again.

Grew up around the block, Bills is a staple in the community and it helps it has The BEST pizza around, plus a super amazing atmosphere. I worked takeout when I was 15, I Love this place. Need to make a trip asap. If you're near by looking for a great lunch/dinner stop in! Double Decker pizza is the best on the planet. Just go.

I am sorry I have to be truthful. We had a terrible experience with a pizza delivery from Bills. We ordered a large pizza and Greek salad, it cost $52 dollars. First it took an hour and a half. Second the pizza was ice cold and the greek salad was iceberg lettuce with a little feta, a few olives and peppers. We should have driven to the Jewel and grabbed a Connie's Frozen sausage pizza with a bag of lettuce for $15 and it would have been a far superior experience and quality. I would not recommend.

First, the food was delicious. We had ordered a starter of mozzarella sticks, that never arrived. After our pizza was brought to the table, I had to request the server to remove the appetizer, to which they responded “the printer is broken, that’s why they didn’t come out”. We ordered the margarita pizza and a mushroom/onion/garlic pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. They were rather pricy, but worth the cost. We chose to sit outside on a Sunday evening at the beginning of the dinner rush. Service was very slow and we didn’t see our server much. The few times we saw our server, they informed us that the restaurant recently received a large fine for not carding people for alcohol, had printer issues and were short staffed. The outside patio area and the food were great. The service leaves room for improvement.
