I stopped here since it was the closest to me that had caffiene, and I do NOT regret it. The atmosphere is great, they do open mic here. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the staff was very kind and helpful since it was my first time in, and my order was done pretty quickly. I got a banana pecan muffin and oh my god was it delicious. It was huge and 100% worth the price. Moist and mouth watering. Speaking of the muffins, they have quite a few to choose from so I'm sure there's a flavor for everyone- unless you don't like muffins😆

Quaint cafe with lots in a variety of lattes, teas and pastries. Savory items are limited, but the breakfast sandwich was quite tasty. Very welcoming space perfect for studying or working remotely. Great patio outside that they host open mic nights and live music from time to time at.

One of my favorite coffee shops! I tried here over a year ago in an effort to support local businesses and I love it. The employees are always very friendly and genuinely ask me how I’m doing and what I’m up to - which I appreciate. The coffee is terrific and there are so many different drinks to try. I’m love coming back here and trying new drinks. I highly recommend coming here!

This is a humble decent local coffee shop, which promotes local work. The cafe has such beautiful soothing ambiance that it can spark creativity and peace. The barista was a kind person to answer our questions. I tried Frank’sTiramisu in a Cup and Fireplace Mocha Latte. I loved the Tiramisu flavored coffee. Fireplace Mocha Latte was a little too sweet for me.

First Time Visiting This Coffee Shop. Amanda greeted us with a warm smile and great service. She was helpful with answering all our questions about the menu and offered many suggestions. I had The Tiramisu in a Cup, It was Delicious! Amanda's suggestion to put it on ice was perfect for the Hot Summer Day. My group and I explored the quaint shop and loved all the outside seating options. Their outside seating is Beautiful, Clean and Spacious. Love what they have done with this space, truly unique! Visit this place and you will not be disappointed, tell Amanda her State Farm Team says Let's Gooo!!

Excellent coffee! Had Honey Bee latte and Iced Purple Haze - both delicious. If you don’t want caffeine, go for Iced Matcha!!

Nice, friendly hometown coffee shop. Independently, locally owned, they take the time to get to know you and your favorites. Bakery items always a good choice to go with your coffee. They have some locally made items for a gift or yourself. Support your neighbors, invest in your community. I will continue to be a patron for life!

It's a great place. I got one of their shirts, and they also sell lip products, mugs, oils, and word boards. They have meals now as well and have a section of gluten free options in addition to the regular sweets. Good price for the coffee - only about $4. I've like almost everything I've tried there.

Excellent little local coffee shop. The coffee was the best tasting I've had in a long while, the service was friendly and the music was young and hip. Looking forward to my next visit.

Frank makes it his duty to meet and get to know every customer. He greets many people by name. The coffee quality is excellent. I drink mine black, so I don't have personal experience with the many different coffees on the menu. There are a large variety of Donuts, pastries and breakfast items available. There are also numerous flavors of Ice Cream on the extensive menu. The atmosphere is friendly and very relaxed. There are many customers who visit Area Coffee regularly. They make newcomers feel welcome. There is outdoor seating available in good weather and a new Mundelein mini park next to Area Coffee. All veterans are welcome on Tuesday afternoons at 4:30 for free coffee and snacks sponsored by Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation. On Friday evenings, Area Coffee hosts Open Mic Night.

I wonder if anyone especially makes a point to visit this tiny hamlet of Mundelein downtown (why would someone) other than the natives here. For those who do, don't miss Area coffee. It's a quirky local coffee shop with numerous eccentric specialty coffee. We tried a couple a Salted Caramel and Honey Bee, both equally delicious. The surprise was their chocolate chip muffin; soft, succulent, and absolutely delicious. The staff is very kind, friendly, and quite helpful. The ambience outside in this part of downtown is soothing and relaxing with live music (not from this place but the neighboring bar), thus providing a small town feeling. Overall a great find; I'd recommend it.

Finally went to AREA Coffee for the first time today and loved the place! The gentleman working the barista station was so kind and came around thanked all the customers for being there. I had a delicious latte in one of their reusable mugs. The outdoor space has picnic tables, hanging lights, and great area for kids to runaround. I'm excited to come back when the weather is warmer and enjoy that space. Sweet place, highly recommend!

We were driving through Mundelein from out of town and it was time for a break. We found AREA Coffee and decided to stop in. We had a wonderful visit! Awesome coffee selections, friendly staff and nice atmosphere! I'm so glad we stopped in and we'll stop every time we come through. It was really great to be at a coffee shop that really does everything so well!

Area coffee is my go-to coffee shop. Located in downtown Mundelein, the staff is very friendly and the cafe has a cozy feel to it. They have a large chalkboard calendar where they display events, including events for veterans and Bible studies. I almost always get the Jonny Bee, which is a dark chocolate mocha with honey. Sometimes musicians will perform and people will meet while other times it is less crowded. I’ve never had a bad experience here. There is free parking right across the street. The cafe also serves ice cream and lemonades - definitely items I will try once the weather warms up. The chocolate muffins are very rich and fill me up when I need a snack. I look forward to keep returning here in the future!

Even though I no longer live in Mundelein, I make a special trip to AREA whenever I'm nearby. Smooth lattes, great local baked goods (especially gluten-free and vegan options!), and fantastic service every time.

The staff is incredibly talented in making the different coffee orders. They're a tad sweet, but delicious. Very friendly service and free Wi-Fi. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Always recommend here to get a great sweet cup of their specials.

Area Coffee is the hidden gem around the town. The ambiance is so calm and friendly that you love to sit, relax and enjoy your coffee. I came to Area Coffee for the first time and tried Purple Haze Latte. I loved the Latte as the best part was it’s not that sweet. Highly recommend Area Coffee. Support Small Business Support Local. I will be back to try other flavors.
