Jake Moran's in the town of Mundelein is a great bar and restaurant that has nice video poker games and planty of large flat panel TVs to watch your favorite sports games and or news the food at Jake Moran's is extremely popular in the town with favorite foods dishes that have been around for a long time.

While driving home from work in Vernon Hills I drove past a bunch of smells. One stood out more than others, a nice juicy burger. Speaking with my SO, we discussed options. We researched for the best burger in Mundelien. As we were on Google Jake Moran's popped up. We wanted to get out to enjoy the beautiful night in September. We noticed we need gas so we stopped and the cashier was a local and knew of Jake Moran's as well. We found out the drinks are top notch and the cheeseburger is fire! (Exact quote) After hearing that our stomachs got super excited!!! Once we arrived Ceasar greeted us with such delight! We already felt welcome and actually sat at the bar we normally would have sat at the tables to browse Reddit. Enjoying our Coor's Light and Tito's with Lemons, their huge screen television had the Cubs game on for us to watch and we stayed off our phones while we conversed with Ceaser and ourselves about making plans for our new home we just moved into 4 months ago. We loved getting to know the staff they truly have passion in their food and business!! Our food was given to us when they knew it would be the best and the Chicken Fingers were ON POINT! We haven't had them in so long, the ranch was home made the crispness of the crunch into the chicken was perfect! Coleslaw was not dry and was the perfect amount of sauce! We had 3 I ate all 3! I loved so much! Everything got served at one time which we said which ever comes out first. All of them did. HeHe we loved that! We love variety and usually share our meal. Halvesies! Hehe. The Patty Melt I devoured half in 2 mins! The onions were carmelized and small so you had a lot versed maybe 5 like normal places do! I love loading it on! The bread had herbs and was fantastic! Honestly didn't want to share hehe They didn't ask if we wanted ketchup and mustard and salt and pepper he just brought everything and was very attentive. Eric doesn't like lettuce, tomatoe and onion on his Burger so we got it plain. Which I rather try anyways. He gave me his half Cheeseburger and my mouth fell in love with the bread it was soft and held the meat and cheese from grease. (Not a fan of grease) his was Medium-Well and the juice nicely in my mouth made the cheese enhance with the Cheddar. Usually I stay away from onion rings because I don't like soggy ones. These oh my goodness so crunchy and the BEST ONION RING! Eric took 3 and I actually stared him down like Nnnooooooooooo! Lol Then I (not him) remembered we can come back! Hehe Best looking pickles I have ever seen given to us! Oh my goodness 5/5 lovely atmosphere with and local that we rather support than chains. We both work for local small businesses and to find it on the first shot really surprised us! I want to go back for that Patty Melt! Please get one and the fries are crisp not soggy. Which who doesn't love? Hehe As we were checking out the game the chef started to tell us about his Chili they were making for tomorrow. I loved the chunks of peppers and tomatoes rather than thick chili! I enjoy it to be soupy not a paste. 5/5 chili man! Way to go! Over all loved the experience as soon as we opened the door to leaving full with a special chili spice to talk about in the car how fall is here and how we can make so many soups! We will be back no doubt! Thank you Ceaser and your staff please for giving us a great fun night!

Sadly our first visit was on a Monday nite 5:15, had a craving for broasted chicken. Upon entry the bar server announced their kitchen would not be open until 7:30, so can't really give a rating. If they had made a social media update would have saved a less than average review and we'd try another time. In today's age of immediate communication this was not expected.

I went in on a Sunday evening around 7. For what it is, i give it 5 stars. Nothing bad to say about this place. Quick service, which was also lasting and attentive. Convinced to purchase a burger. It was suprisingly really great. Did not expect quality food from a smaller bar. The burger belongs at a restaurant for $13 but you can find it here at Jake Moran's for like $8. Cheddar was perfectly melted, bacon is cooked along with the patty, bun very soft but slightly crisp on the edges as if it was toasted just before serving. Ketchup was refrigerated, which was very nice because I've never known any business to do that. Fries crispy outside with softer center. The game was on loud enough to hear but quiet enough to have a conversation. And the men's bathroom was quite the surprise as well. New tile all the way up to the ceiling, well lit, very clean. I almost didn't want to pee in there because it was so clean.

Friendly place to hang out, have some drinks and play some games. Best burger in Lake County!

Pros: Super love their burgers! Also, their jalapeño poppers (choose cream cheese) is a must try!! Fries are great too--really crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Bartender (at night) is nice and attentive. Cons: Food prep takes a little longer compared to other pubs because they only have 1 cook and 1 bartender/server. They don't have COVID-19 protocols, i.e. masks are not required, no social distancing required, you can do or be whatever you want. Even the staff don't wear masks and all their regulars come without masks on.

Sad 😔Don't go. Phone disconnected. I still went to order Patty Melt but zero ppl there & kitchen closed on Thurs nite? INSTEAD go to Teddy O'Brian's a couple of blocks away, hopping w/ppl enjoying GREAT food, atmosphere! Happy I finally got an excellent Patty Melt at Teddy's & ran into a close/family friend as a bonus👍JAMES, the CHEF EXTROAIRDINARE RULES‼️

I didn't eat any food so I gave 3 stats, I was there for the slots! This place is nice, great selection of games to play, AC is on SUPER COLD! Blows right on you so wear your thin coat! Only thing I didn't like was some lady wanted to use the machine I was on but when I was done she never asked me was I done. She walked to her punk husband and said "he's just sitting there and I wanna play!" Now I heard her but she decided to go to another guy who worked there and said she wanted to play where I was. Now 2/6 are in use, one im sitting at and just took my phone out. Next thing I know the husband is asking me from the bar am I playing? I was like naw just finished, like 10 sec later the worker guy walks up and says hey you can't sit here the lady wants to play here! I was like ok I know I heard her tell her husband '15ft away from me, and her husband told me as well, now I've got you telling me all within the last 40 secs... I get it. Funny the woman nvr said or asked me herself but she sends you guys like your some type of bouncer! She can ask herself right? The guy says 'well that happens sometimes', I said well don't act on it and next time ask if they asked the person first! We all grown adults here. I moved, she bumps me like I wasn't there, passes by me 2 more times hitting me with her purse and I like cmon! I know you see me here, you can feel yer purse being held up by something right?! That lady was scared of a 130 guy that looks like he still early 20's besides that it was fine! I was winning!

The owner of this place is absolutely rude and makes you feel unwelcome. There's only one bartender who is an absolute delight, but he unfortunately isn't there the majority of the time

First time going there, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life and the beer was nice and cold! Great service too!!

Burger was cooked perfectly! Colslaw was amazing! But what will make me go back is the way the staff treated us! My son is special needs. He screams and yells for the fun of it. A man came out of kitchen and made us feel extremely welcome! Bar tender was caring and understanding! I will definitely recommend this place 100%!

The burger was good and the Reuben was fantastic. Fries cost extra, but it comes with Cole slaw (which is very tasty). Very much a hometown bar feel.
