5+5🌟 Update! Go in and see Pete! He's the copo, te amo familia 🫶 They've completely updated their digs! It is really an awesome place inside, and once again the bathrooms are spotless. The food was delicious, the wait staff was amazing! Our last visit today was worth every penny and more! I had the Steak and wild mushroom skillet, my wife had the loks platter. The coffee and their fresh juices are amazing. 6/30/2023🥇 We were out and about doing our doctor's visits for the day lol, and remembered Elly's, not to be confused with Emily's, from a few years back. We didn't even know if they were going to be open. They absolutely were open and the food was just as good as I remembered. I had four eggs over easy, chicken fried steak, hash browns with onions and cheese, wheat toast. My wife had the French toast, it was called The French connection. And, it was a huge production lol! Can't go wrong here. Special mention the coffee and the fresh squeezed orange juice! The wait staff was amazing also, everyone was extremely polite, respectful and engaging.🥰 6/29/2022

My family and I we’re staying in Double Tree hotel and we google breakfast places. This spot popped up it was really close like walking distance but we were not from the area so we drove. The place had a very open vibe. The food was good. The orange juice stole the show for me. I never had fresh OJ and let me tell you I rather have fresh than Simply any day now.

The service was great! The food came out very quickly. The corn beef hash was delicious! The pancakes were tasty. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and tastes great! This is definitely a good breakfast spot to visit.

Love how open and bright it is.

I paid $31.59 for breakfast here. One person. It included the Meat Lover's Skillet with pancakes instead of toast, large fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, 20% tip. That's an outrageous amount of money for breakfast. The orange juice was the only thing I enjoyed. The coffee was your standard food service coffee. I did not like the meat lovers skillet at all. Whatever they used to make this did not blend together at all. I could have gone across the street to McDonald's and gotten a couple of McMuffins and better coffee for $8 and enjoyed it much more than this and I'm not a fan of McDonald's. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Food, not at all. I won't be back.

Not good. Not worth the money really expensive little flavor. The pancakes tasked old. And the chef cut the onions into chunks. I love onions but I've never taken a bite out of one, but it felt like I did with the huge chunks of it in my skillet.

I still think it is better than most places for breakfast but they definitely are not as good as they used to be. My wife had a spinach omelette and I had a corned beef sandwich. My sandwich was very dry and fry’s were cold. I will try it again soon and edit my review. Our waitress was the best

Just renovated, I guess we expected a total makeover but it's more of just a refresh. Had omelets that were tasty but weird consistency (a little loose/mushy for our tastes). Pancakes awesome though!

Elly's was recently remodeled and looks very welcoming and bright now. The food was delicious and was brought out quickly perfectly cooked. The staff was well mannered and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place as a regular breakfast place.

Ordered a corned beef hash breakfast and a pancake breakfast. The hash was homemade and very good, says husband. My pancakes were mediocre, at best. (The cakes might have belonged to someone else's breakfast because they were not hot or even warm when they came to the table.) I asked the waitress for fresh ones. When those arrived they were really hot and fresh looking, yet, for a 'pancake house' a real disappointment. Would return for the hash but not the cakes..

I've lived in the area a long time. Never got around to trying Ellys. Very impressed. I know the photo is just fruit but normally when you go to breakfast places and order a side of fruit it's usually a tiny cup of a few grapes, two cubes of cantaloupe and maybe a pineapple chunk. Ellys gives you full slices of fresh fruit as the side. The bacon was soft but meaty and had some crisp to it, exactly how I love my bacon. Their Benedict has had perfect runny eggs that cover the ham with yolk mixed with hollandaise. Very on point. 10/10 would recommend.

Food is great and in big portions. Service is excellent. Great variety. Been eating here for decades and still top-notch in every way. Not open in evenings but try it for breakfast or lunch and you will enjoy it.

Elly's remodel is stunning and the owners and staff are absolutely lovely people. Had a great experience when myself and a friend went to have breakfast there. Absolutely amazing omelets and waffles! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great dining experience and amazing food!

This use to be my favorite breakfast place. But since the remodel, the food was over cooked. The pancakes use to be soft and fluffy now they are flat and burnt. Bacon was so burnt you could barely chew it. Then to add insult to injury they now charge an unadvertised 3% surcharge for credit card use that the waitstaff breaks to you table side with your check. Way to show your customers they matter. If anything give a cash discount instead of a surcharge. Very disappointed, will not return.

Elly's was a delightful brunch experience that I stumbled into by chance. It's an upbeat diner that's perfect for a morning nosh with friends or family. I was desperate for a cup of coffee after dropping my car off at the shop, and Elly's was the closest spot. From the exterior, I honestly wasn't expecting much; the exterior sign has seen better days and the building is plain and gray. However, when you get inside, it feels like an entirely different restaurant. The interior has been recently renovated, with a vibrant southwestern style that compliments the menu perfectly. There's standard diner fare (eggs, pancakes, waffles, and the like) to satisfy both your sweet and savory breakfast cravings. I ended up settling on the breakfast burrito, which was tasty. The coffee was only alright, but the servers were extremely attentive and service was speedy.

I absolutely will be back! Sunday brunch rush and the service was lightning fast and the food is just chef's kiss perfect. Highly recommended. The Spartan omelette is amazing! The hash browns are a perfect balance between crunchy and cooked just enough. And the pancakes are thick yet fluffy, so delicious. Another thing I liked is this isn't one of those places that insists on staff covering up tattoos or piercings. People are allowed to do their job AND be who they are here. I applaud you Elly's of Mundelein.

Cant believe I havent left a review for this place before. Been eating here for the past 5 years! The food here is amazing and they have the best fluffy pancakes that other breakfast places cant seem to imitate. Omelette is huge and hashbrowns are crispy and perfect. NOT BURNT like Cafe Fourteen in Palatine. Highly recommend!! This place is also newly renovated and looks much nicer than before. Note that they now charge a 3% credit card fee.

Everything we ordered was good. The fresh made breads and biscuits just made everything so good. We had French Toast, biscuits and gravy and the classic eggs Benedict. The food came out very quickly and was made well. The eggs were poached perfectly. The Restuarant is well kept, clean bathrooms. Ample parking lot available right on Rte 60. The staff was very welcoming, and checked on coffee fill ups often. They could have cleared tables more quickly but really the service was great.

Staying locally for work and have stopped by more than once the past few days. It's great. There is plenty of different options available, with a wide range of specials that seem to change daily. So there's always something new to try out. Coffee is good and the staff are welcoming. Would highly recommend a visit if your in the area.
